Pied Piper Falmouth Edgartown Ferry

Excellent service to the Vineyard. The Boat was right on time going both ways. Very convenient way to get to Edgartown. And worth the price. Take the cattle boat if you want and then get herded by bus if you wish.

Not only is this ferry service expensive and charge a high fee for parking, they don’t notify customers when they cancel service! We were waiting for the Pied Piper with many other people and thought the ferry was running a little late. As it turned out they had decided to stop service. They did not have anyone post a sign or let passengers know. When I called to see if the ferry was running late the person who answered the phone said ferry was cancelled because it was windy, which was fine, but let your passengers know! We were able to take a bus across the island and get on the Island Queen and will use the Island Queen again!

Never going to take this ferry again!
Yes, the ferry was clean. Yes, it was nowhere as crowded as Steamship Authority Ferry is. Yes, most staff is very nice.
But overall it is a bad deal and I think their parking rate scheme is a SCAM!
We were on MV for 3 days, but they charged us for 4 days of parking. Excuse was they do calendar days. SCAMMERS!
$ 100 on parking + $ 100 on tickets for two = not worth it. Take Steamship Authority and then very convenient bus to Edgartown. MV has great and convenient transportation system, so take advantage of it.

I recently had to go to Martha’s Vineyard for work and was staying at a hotel in Edgartown. Since I was not bringing a car but had to bring a bunch of stuff for work I wasn’t looking forwarding to treking all my gear from the Steamship Authority Ferry in Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs to Edgartown on the bus. I found this ferry that takes you right to Memorial Wharf in Edgartown and it was a 10 minute walk to our hotel. The ferry wasn’t overly crowded and there was plenty of room for my gear and everyone’s luggage. Best part of all though was that they provided parking at the ferry yard in Falmouth and had my car waiting for me when I got there. I would give it five star instead of four except for the fact that it was a little pricey — $ 25 each way on the ferry and $ 25 a day for parking. But I expect pricey when it comes to anything having to do with the Vineyard and its nice to know that you can pay for the convenience if you need it!
