Boy oh boy do I wish I had read all the negative reviews of this company and Dennis on the internet before I paid for the dump that we had to live in for a week.
Caution: if you are not a gaggle of fraternity brothers used to living in filth and disrepair DO NOT rent this property or in general from Dennis.
The Bathrooms — upon our arrival were dirty, might have had something to do with the cleaning person — when we arrived she was sitting on the couch texting — not actually cleaning. There is only one bathroom that has a shower and toilet inside the house. The other ½ bath is in one of the bedrooms room and the «3^rd» is outside in a totally different area that houses spiders and also oddly enough where chemicals for the pool are also kept. (Chemicals were in an unlocked location in case you have kids like I do! So keep a close eye on them)
The kitchen table is unsteady with about 6 mismatched chairs that look like they came from 6 separate tag sales– plan to eat on the floor
Want to wash some dishes? The kitchen faucet handle goes steadily down and then finally off again. Washing a dish will take at least 2 times of putting on the water — the dishwasher works. so I guess that is the silver lining?
Lights outside to welcome you home? Yeah they don’t work either
The house is 4 bedrooms all decent in size for sleeping. All have mediocre AC coverage enough so that you can sleep through the night– the living room has none — on dead hot days it’s an oven… no problem go jump in the pool right? THINK AGAIN!
The amenities the «awesome» pool… was not at all what was advertised. The refreshing lovely pool’s liner is torn away from the side of the actual pool and bunched up in the middle and is in a general state of disrepair. The pool company that visited several times to take measurements evaluate the problems etc (I can only assume to estimate the repair costs for future renters back to Dennis) even said that the pool was in a state of disrepair and would need to be completely redone — he wasn’t sure who’s idea it was to «patch» it this way but it was a mess on top of a mess. One filter didn’t work at all and the pool guy spent hours fixing and cleaning the others… of this «perfect pool». GROSS.
The landscaping and in general property. The lawn is mowed. Expect nothing more. Poison ivy is all over the backyard so bad my 4 year old paid a visit to the Dr for playing in the backyard retrieving a ball he kicked into the patches of Poison ivy. The rest of the property is filled with broken patio stones, garbage left behind (ie: think old umbrella stands, balls lost in the bushes, wrappers and my favorite Dog doo which was EVERYWHERE).
My typical vacation week on the cape that I live for every summer was ruined and this clown could care less. A $ 100 bill and a bunch of promises was all we got. I have cross posted this on Trip advisor etc. so hopefully no one else suffers. His tag line of this house «has it all» is the only thing that actually fits. It’s a matter of if you want all he has to offer is the question

3 years later and still enjoying my association with Donahue Real Estate! John has been very helpful, made himself available and gave me sound renting advice. I have an amazing year-​round tenant that I have become friends with and I am very happy with Donahue Real Estate. I have referred them to my friends looking for rentals and they have been happy as well. I really hate to see bad reviews on such a great small business because I have nothing but great things to say about them. I can not speak to the bad review on the summer rental but I feel that summer rentals are the responsibility of the home owner, not the renting company! The home owner should have home pride and keep their house up so renters are happy. The rental company is contracted to find renters, not keep the house up. John and Dennis are both great! We have a business relationship bar-​none, they are the top in their field! Thanks guys!

I am surprised to see the negative reviews on this company. We rented 2 years ago with Donahue. When we arrived, the house was not ‘clean’… the owner typically made it down every weekend to clean with the cleaning company. When I called, they had an cleaner at the house in 30 minutes (they did an amazing job cleaning). super fast response to problems. We were blown away with how quickly they handled it. We understood that things happen. we didn’t kick and scream about it. but they went above and beyond to fix the situation. They are very professional. I would rent with them again in a heartbeat!

Horrible customer service and false advertising. Unfortunately I don’t have an option to award zero stars on Unilocal.The pool at 285 Acapesket Road, which looked fabulous on their website, was filled with nuclear-​green pond scum that took the first three days of our week-​long stay to clean. The pool guy swore that «while unpleasant to look at, it was safe to swim» but I don’t think any self-​respecting parents would let their kids in. On a hot-​sweaty day, ours ran the other way.
The pool had been the critical factor in my decision to rent the property but I was unable to get out of the $ 3400 contract. Instead they apologized that the toilets had black scum rings upon my arrival and told me to sue them if I wanted more than an apology. Yep, that’s just what I want to do during my vacation, wash toilets and file lawsuits! They knew I was a sitting duck and offered $ 500 for my inconvenience. I took it. I have photos of the pool, but can’t post here. Just be warned: look before you leap or you might get soaked in pond scum.
