Cute lil mexican joint with a large back yard patio. While working in Rockaway, I began a quest for tasty local grub. My coworkers boasted about Tacos y Mas, curious I walked over to be the judge. Having dined in Jackson Heights for Tacos, I have a sophisticated palette. I was greeted by the owner and found the back patio extensive. Large seating area for a summer day. Cute green and red benches. The waitress informed of me of specials and I opted for chicken and carnitas tacos. I ordered the Horchata priced right at 1.50. Deliciously refreshing. The tacos were dressed in the usual cilantro, radish and lettuce. The quality of the meat and quantity was a bit disappointing for me. Pork(carnitas) were crispy. but not flavorful. The corn tortillas were soft and warm but lacked being accompanied by a substantial amount of flavorful meat. This is a great spot for healthier food in the hood, combined with a tranquil ambiance. Ideal for lunch breaks and a quick bite. Not the cheapest or the tastiest tacos i have sampled.

I’ve lived by this restaurant for as long as I can remember and I’ve never once thought a about getting food from here but I was in the mood for something different today and I was happy to find out that this place is great. the gentleman taking my order was so nice and helpful being that my spanish is somewhat limited. the food was fresh and made to order and I really enjoyed my meal, I know I’ll be back for future meals

I’ve been to this venue a few times. Their food is good; It tastes authentic. They are not too expensive for what they provide, but a meal for two can easily run you around $ 20. Their vegetable burritos are the worse. The Chimichangas on the other hand were amazing. I have never sat down in the restaurant, I always pick it up and eat the food else where, so I can’t comment on their service. They make the food fairly quickly.

The tacos here was ok but to be honest I had better from the taco stand in Astoria by my wife job. They aren’t bad but they not the best I had. I took away two stars because the Resturant was a Spanish hangout. A lot of people watching tv, eating and talking loud. I wouldn’t sit down to eat here and the neighborhood is sketchy even though it’s across the street from the police precinct. The tacos taste good just needed a little more seasoning for my liking. Try it for yourself.

After finding out about this place on Unilocal,I decided to give it a try. I’ve NEVER even noticed this place that’s directly next to the church. As a matter of fact, they are church goers for sure. They played Spanish gospel the whole time.(I don’t speak Spanish but it wasn’t hard to decipher that it was gospel lol) Now to the food… I don’t eat chicken and I retardedly(not a real word) ordered 2 chicken tacos. With a splash of lemon provided on the side and some of their hot sauce, I was able to forget the fact that I hate chicken. My niece decided on the shrimp quesadilla and said it was great. There was plenty of shrimp and it was well seasoned. I have to go back to try the other options. I’m convinced they must have plenty of call in orders because I dined in and sat at the small seating area with only 2 other ppl in the restaurant, But they were cooking non stop from the time I walked in. There is a back area with additional seating but the day I stumbled in was a chilly day. Prices are very reasonable and the customer service was friendly and attentive. Overall…try it out! I’ll definitely be back.

The beef tacos are excellent. «La Sopa de Res»(aka beef soup Salvadorean style) delicious. It’s like drinking soup that one of my aunts made. The pupusas are okay. The Tico(typical eggs w chorizo, refried beans, fried maduros, etc) is really delicious.

Nom nom nom. I usually am rushing to and from libraries in the Rockaways without a chance to eat but I am so glad I stopped at Tacos Y Mas for a steak burrito. One of the best in NYC as far as I am concerned and the hot sauce was delightfully spicy! I will definitely be making time to grab a burrito or something else from here when I can.

I live in the area and although I always pass this place I’ve never really cared to go in… as I’m coming from the post office I stop in & order 3 tacos(chicken, steak & sausage) yummy not bad plus its inexpensive. Imean I wouldn’t travel from far to go there but if your in the area and in the mood for home made tacos sure.

I love Tacos Y Mas. Every time I find myself in Far Rockaway I grab lunch here. The tacos run $ 2 and are well worth it. The owner is friendly, the food is good, and there is always a telenovella on – what more could you want? Also, there is outdoor seating in the back, which is great when the weather is right.

They don’t have vegetarian stuff on the menu. They don’t even really have menus. But they were happy to make me a vegetarian burrito. It was good. I like the hole in the wall ambiance. Five tables, seats max 14 in back, with barstools and counter in front. The guy who took my order was pleasant. He brought the food to my table, and asked how the meal was when I left.

Blah. Definitely not the best taqueria ive been to. The tacos were decent. The burrito was kinda gross. Ive never had white rice in a burrito before. That threw me off something serious. The people who worked there were very nice and pleasant but I wont be going back.

The food was good. Burritos. Omg. Delish. Their soft tacos are not something to rave about though. Their hot sauce is so hot but I can’t stop eating it ! Not much to eat in that part of the peninsula, so this is a rarity.

This is one of the best Mexican food places I have been. I had the burrito. It was outstanding. The place is tucked into a row of shops and is definitely a favorite with locals. It was hards to find good food in this area, Tacos Y Mas stands out as a great meal.
