ATL Contracting

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY… CONSUMER BEWARE AVOID AT ALL COST!
I’m not sure where to begin with the horror story of dealing with this company. I will say looks are deceiving and the owner Craig Reiner talks a great game but in reality they are a bunch of crooks and will steal your money leaving you with an unfished project. We contacted ATL Contracting to do a complete interior remodel of our home (Flooring, Painting, Granite counters, carpet and cabinets etc.) They came out in a very timely manner and gave us an estimate of 22K but looks are so deceiving Please don’t be fooled by the ATL Branding on the Hummer and stories of how they were on Hotel Impossible the only thing impossible apparently is getting these guys to complete a job. Craig and his partner George are as unprofessional and unorganized as they come and their employees look like a bunch of day laborers you pick up. We provided the supplies and materials as well as multiple payments for work yet to be completed. They consistently asked for payment even though work was not being done. They failed to show up and work on our project unless we were there to stand over them, considering we live in another state this is time consuming and expensive. Their explanation for not showing up was they needed cash to pay their employees or their employees needed rides whatever the case Craig went so far as to tell me we better give them another draw or else!
Now I’m no fool but when did this become my problem after the first 11K was paid yet we failed to see 11K worth of work and your still painting from phase 1. Paying his employees is the least of our concern we want our project completed and get what we paid for. When we asked for photos of completed work and an itemized list of work that was 100% completed were sent the same photos over and over again and an inflated work sheet of work that was not actually completed. The last straw was Craig Reiner receives a payment of 5200 dollars in a cashier’s check his bank puts a two week hold on his funds and he walks off our project.
Craig and George decide that they are not communicating with us any more after receiving the payment. We sent several texts stating we will not pay another dollar unit we see some completed results of this project and get what we paid for. This guy had the gall send us a text stating we were not respecting him like a human being and that he is terminating our contract contact his lawyer WTF you just stole our money! How am I supposed to talk to you? This guy is an idiot we are 75% financially invested in the project but only 50% of the work is completed not sure how this works but he got the wrong clients. Please take your money elsewhere this company is being sued by several people to include us. My partner contracted Craig and his company ATL contracting to complete some work to her home. She paid a deposit and was given a start date for the job. Craig and his crew never showed up to start the work. He used the excuse of weather being the issue, but the repair to the roof was minimal and could have been completed on one of the many fair weather days that passed. My partner has had to continually call his office trying to find out what was going on. Once she stated she wanted a refund they wanted to come out the next day, but at this time we wanted only our money refunded because based on his previous failure to show up we feared he would start the job and not finish. Craig has not contacted anyone, will not answer calls and failed to refund the deposit. We are filing a claim with the BBB (which they falsely advertise they are a member of on their website) and going to small claims court. We wished we had investigated him further. Buyer Beware!

I gave this company 5 stars because unlike other contracting companies I have hired in the past, These guys came in and installed the work I asked them to do and finished it in a timely manner. They didn’t ask for a down payment, which made it a little easy to deal with, (had my own materials) considering the past job I had done with other companies.
I had them tile two bathrooms with 18×18 tiles with diamonds cut in the middle of it.
(Not sure what you call that.) they also changed out 3 rooms with carpet and pad. I love the way Creg gave me different options to choose from. Even told me a price range below builders grade that I could afford. The whole job took about 3, days. I was more than pleased with the work these guys did!
PS, they cleaned up their mess also.

ATL Contracting is pretty awesome! Not only were they on Hotel Impossible but with their customers, they are just as good. If you want professional work done then contact ATL Contracting for your next project! You won’t be dis-​satisfied!

Craig and Amanda are nothing but thieves. My advice to anyone is do not do business with them. By no means give them a partial payment or any money at all until the job is completed.

So, I was going to purchase the Groupon that ATL Contracting was offering (6 hours for $ 139) and contacted them to see if we could work out a time for them to come. Two «contact us» requests through their website, 3 emails, and 1 text later, they finally responded asking what kind of work I needed done. When I noted that I needed painting done, apparently they didn’t like that because suddenly they indicated that they are no longer accepting Groupons. But then they suggested that perhaps we could work out a deal outside of the Groupon. I told them that their Groupon was still for sale (as it still is a week later) and that perhaps they should make sure the ad is taken off the internet if they’re no longer going to accept people’s Groupons. (However, as I mentioned, they haven’t taken down the ad.)
I just had to mention that, from my perspective, the whole interaction was just kinda slimey. I don’t know exactly what they were looking for, but apparently it wasn’t what they’d committed to in the Groupon and I guess (?) they told me they weren’t accepting Groupons AFTER asking about the work I needed because it didn’t sound like something that was going to lead to a big job in the future? (Truth is, that was their mistake). Anyhoo, Groupons are often intended to be good advertising, but instead I feel like I learned what this company is really about through the process. I hope my review helps others learn a little about their business procedures so that they know what they’re dealing with too…
