There’s something so awesomely nostalgic about walking down a cafeteria line, tray in hand, and picking up various foods from busy workers behind a sneeze proof barrier. They have a rotating menu, located online, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s mostly southern fare so expect plenty of sodium, fat, and the sudden need for a nap afterward. I’m especially partial to this location for breakfast. K&W literally provides almost everything for an awesome breakfast: sausage(patty or link, country or breakfast), bacon, biscuits, gravy, French toast, made to order eggs, cereal, and plenty of juices. Yes, you to have to pay for the little things like butter packets but it’s a minor annoyance. Service is a hit or miss but breakfast for three at slightly over $ 25, I’ll take the win.

I’ve gone to K&W all my life but it’s gone down hill. They still have some southern comfort food but it used to be a good healthy alternative. Now it’s almost as if everything is greasy. But still the customer service at this one is great and everyone is friendly as you can expect from K&W.

The food is good but this was the second time I’ve been that my silverware was dirty. They need to seriously step it up in that department. I’m thinking twice about going back because of that reason.

Eggs cooked to order for breakfast. Overall good food, fairly consistent. Wait staff is usually friendly.

As anyone realized how expensive this place is. You pay for every single thing including the butter at the end of the line. I payed 10 bucks for 3 items left there hungry

We fancy ourselves K&W connoisseurs, so we thought that stopping here would be a delightful beginning to our vacation. The exterior and interior of the restaurant are clean and pleasant. The food was delicious and our food servers were very good and pleasant to speak with! The only parts that kept the review from being a full 5 stars were as such: 1. Our waitress spent 80% of our visit talking with a different table consistently. She never came over until we started to stack our plates on an adjacent empty table. Our drinks had been empty for a while, but she suddenly had interest in our table again since we were about to leave. She refilled our drinks, but by then it was too late and she received a 4% tip. I would provide a name, but I can’t because she only came one time! 2. This may be a direct correlation with the waitress assigned to our section, but the floors under our tables were abysmally filthy, while others were pristine. Food: 9/10, Freshness: 9/10, Service: 2/10, Cleanliness: 6⁄10

Oooooh this was a treat! Southern style yum yums at low low prices. Dig it! The green beans were sooooooo good. Sweet and tasty yams, black eyed peas, cabbage… all southern favorites that I couldn’t resist. Egg custard pie was a rare treat I haven’t had in years. My boyfriend and I ate until we were sick and we had to waddle out of there. Loved it!

My stepfather always like to say that the food’s not that great here, but by the time you stand in line for so long to get your food, you’re starving so it tastes really good! I got the fried chicken livers with onions with a side of turnip greens and fried okra. Yeah, I’ve been missing me some southern cooking so I took advantage of the opportunity to grub on some. It didn’t diapooint either, it was hearty and delicious. The sweet tea was refreshing and sweetened perfectly. My only complaint would be the dining room service. Despite the church crowd, the line to pick out the food went pretty fast but once we sat down, we didn’t get a refill or a plate taken away. Twice my Mom had to get up to ask for a refill at the counter. The checkout line was long too, which is a pain when you’re trying to leave and have to wait to pay!

It’s ok. It’s country old people food at its best. Macaroni and cheese, chicken-pan-pie, chopped steak, hot rolls… it’s good and cheap. Oh and pie! There’s lots of pie. It’s hard to go wrong with pie. You may go wrong with the weird congealed salads, but that’s a decision you’ll have to make on your own. Oh, and don’t try to grab the cups of jello out from under the glass, the lady will yell at you. Ask her for it. I forgot protocol and got scolded.

This cafeteria style chain should be called K&W elder-State University. It reminds me of my meal plans at the cafeteria in college. Food is similar but with a more mature crowd. But hey, I miss my fast & hearty meals in college so KW is a treat. If you are paralyzed by all the choices, you can’t go wrong with turkey w gravy & a side of cabbage. This is no place for a date, but for a home style meal… yea.
