Courtyard Seattle Federal Way

Clean and super helpful staff. Lobby and amenities are refreshed and all most travelers would need. Had a corner 2 room suite which would work well for traveling family. Lots of dining and shopping options right at same location.

Wow, this is the third year in a row I’ve spent a couple weeks living here on business. I’ve always enjoyed my stay, but this year I found that they have updated and modernized their rooms. I was immediately comfortable and pleasantly surprised. My review though is the result of amazing service, and attentive management. I had very few issues, and the word «issues» is a bit of an overstatement, but when I was looking for attention I was always and quickly greeted with an attentive and an immediate understanding of my needs. I was most impressed by Justin, the overnight manager, he was a wonderfully attentive, patient, and kind person, Justin was always polite, and positive, even in the late hours. I really appreciated his time and efforts to make my stay more comfortable. Thank you to the entire staff. Excellent choice for anyone looking for a worry free, comfortable stay near Seattle.

hotel is under construction. there is no warning. come 8a you will wake up to the ceilings and walls shaking like a war zone. stay away!

My family and I stayed here recently for a short overnight, before we headed to Mount Rainier. Overall very happy. The lobby is updated and modern. There is a Starbucks in the lobby along with a «bistro» that is open at certain times during the day. There is a very small «market» in the lobby that is open ²⁴⁄₇.
We purchased an overnight deal that included breakfast. What was nice is that you got to pick anything off the menu downstairs in the morning from the bistro.
The room is overall were decent. They were very clean. The sheets were very soft but the mattresses definitely need to be upgraded. They were not too comfortable. The towels were very thin and not too fluffy.
The pool and Jacuzzi are indoor and were very nice. Very clean in the hot tub was very warm. There is a nice sitting area outside with wicker furniture and patio heaters to be able to sit outside. It is very well located off the freeway and has several different restaurants within walking distance.
Overall, we’re very happy with our stay and would definitely consider again. The hotel should definitely consider updating their guestrooms to match the lobby Decour and theme.

Currently staying in this hotel. Great location. Walking distance to literally hundreds or shops and a large mall. Freeway is also extremely close. Staying with my husband as he has work downtown so I’m able to keep myself busy while he is working:
Staff is extremely friendly. Check in process was very quick. Starbucks is located downstairs, laundry facilities were awesome especially with a 9 month old, who goes through clothes quickly.
Crib was already in room upon check in which was a huge plus. Would highly recommend!

Good example of Courtyard properties. Friendly staff and good «Bistro» execution (if you are familiar with Courtyard’s Bistro dining situation). Location is good as it is in walking distance to several restaurants (if you’d rather not do the Bistro thing) and Marlene’s Natural Foods Market & Deli. Small but well kept fitness room.
The east facing rooms have a view of Mount Rainier.

Hotel was okay. Lobby was modern and clean cut but rooms brought me all the way back to the 90s!!! In a bad, outdated I feel cramped way. Staff (well, one) was great. Didn’t really see anyone other than the front desk clerk and the pool/​gym attendant (he was super friendly and exactly what this hotel needs in terms of staff)! Only thing that kind of irked me was when one staff member started talking to me in Spanish while giving me the up and down stare. I’d call it racial profiling but whatevs… Just said look man, I’m not Mexican. Not all brown people are Mexican okay. I’m a pacific islander. Here in WA people racial profile all the damn time so I wasn’t offended at all. But in truth, he should’ve been professional enough to know to treat all guests the same. I suggest the pool attendant train this guy… Overall, I wouldn’t come back unless there was a power outage or I was getting a free room. And don’t eat bfast at the bistro! We found it to be less than mc Donalds quality and real, Starbucks should be ashamed they serve their drinks here!

Bed was terrible. I woke up sore and tired. Hot tub was luke warm at best. Room décor is dated, which is surprising because I thought the lobby looked modern and comfortable.
Parking was a nightmare, not enough spaces and hotel shares parking lot with hotel next door.
In room coffee was gross and face towels were thin.
I think you should pay a few dollars more and stay at another hotel.

The downstairs lobby is nice enough for a «courtyard». Staff seems friendly even if they are unaccommodating. Rooms seem well kept. Realistically probably your best choice if staying in this area unless you want to make the hike to Seattle.

I’m a marriott platinum member, I stay at a lot of Marriotts… it’s July and I have 115 nights this year.
So I knows my courtyards. This one has the typical snazzy lobby remodel, but my room, schmooshed against the freeway, is thread bare and dated. The tv is askew to the right of the bed. I hate that. And unlike the lobby where channels abound, the selection in the room is very limited.
I was told I was on a secure floor (5 – 9) because «crime is very high in the area so it’s for your security». I have to use my room key to punch in «9». So what about the people on floors 1 – 4? And by the way, there are warning signs in the parking lot sternly warning you take all your things inside.
The ice machine on my floor was broken.
I went to buy a sandwich from their store and was told no, that is for a special group?! Da faqu? Then why is it in their «store» with other items? No sign, nothing, just sitting there. And it must be a small group, there were two sandwiches left. Just weird.
And no easy bedside outlets for electronics. If you want modern, go a few miles to the Fairfield Marriott in Puyallup, much better.
On the plus side, though dated, my room was clean and there are many restaurants near by.
Some Marriotts live up to the brand, some live off the brand. Alas this is the latter.

Great value for what you pay. Large, comfortable rooms with a view of Mt. Rainer (especially if you can get a higher floor). Clean and well-​maintained facilities. Friendly service. A nice outdoor patio and walking distance from shops, restaurants, and a mini-​complex. I was very pleased with this hotel.

Friendly staff. trouble-​free check in & check out. rooms look newly redone. Great views. love the glass elevator. Would definitely stay again.
I missed the free breakfast that you get at some Marriotts. They had a café but it wasn’t free.

Made a trip to Seattle right after the New Year’s during the rainy /​low season!
I was staying with points and trying to decide where to stay and noticed many people don’t post. It was hard to decide where to stay and I ended up picking this place.
This hotel is about 20 minutes south of the airport and 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. During commute hours it’s definitely longer but carpool lane is 24 hours which is great.
This hotel is located right off the freeway with a variety of stores around the hotel like Target, Safeway, movie theaters, shopping mall and restaurants. The Federal Way Transit Center is a block away from the hotel.

The lobby is very nice, it looks like it’s been remodeled.
They offer free Wi-​Fi and free parking which is great. They have a workout center and indoor pool/​hot tub. They also have a self service laundry mat on site which is great.
The rooms are very clean and basic. They have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Not sure if all rooms are the same. The room I had, had two sinks, one inside the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. I like this arrangement as it helps with getting ready faster when you have more than one person in the hotel room.
They don’t have vending machines, instead they have a 24 hour mini café. I’d prefer they have a vending machine but you can take a quick drive to Target or Safeway if you want to save yourself some money.
The receptionist was very friendly.
Overall it’s a hotel I would recommend because of the location and what was surrounding it.

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family. Our requests for a specific type of room and 9^th floor location were all met and we were happy with our room. The room and hotel overall were very clean and quiet. The elevator has a glass wall so if you go up to the ninth floor, you are treated to a pretty view of Mt Rainier. The pool and jacuzzi were also clean and uncrowded. The hotel is located in a plaza which holds a health food market, Sees Candy store, and four or five restaurants, so you can walk to almost anything you need. If you need to eat gluten-​free, like me, you have a choice of three restaurants (Black Angus, Indian, and Thai) within walking distance that have gluten-​free menu items. A short drive down the street is a plethora of malls and other shopping venues. We really enjoyed our stay.

For the most part, it’s a standard Courtyard. Comfy bed, well-​appointed room, yadda yadda. You stay at one Courtyard, you’ve stayed at them all.
But THIS one has actual WATER PRESSURE in the shower. Hallelujah! That’s enough to give it an extra star right there. And the water is HOT, too. I was having trouble giving that up to go to my meeting.

I would give this Courtyard 3.5 stars if I could. It’s a totally average Courtyard in just about every way.
Good points:

*Many rooms have great views of Mt Ranier
Bad points:
*The rooms with Mt Ranier views face a noisy highway, so don’t request one if you are noise sensitive
*Despite the snazzy lobby, the actual rooms are not remodeled — my carpet definitely was musty
*Their wifi kept crashing my IPad
It’s a fine place to stay in the area — way better than the Best Western across the street. Know that some of the rooms have Jacuzzi tubs which is kind of odd for a Courtyard. I mean, who says to their significant other «hey, let’s have a sexy weekend at the Courtyard on Federal way… they have Jacuzzi tubs»?

Marriott Silver member and I was definitely not pleased with the room we were assigned (overlooking the air conditioning system from a lower roof). We were first time visitors to Seattle and had a short time to appreciate the beautiful city — and looking at a air conditioning system on the top of a roof was not my idea of a ‘view’. Hotel didn’t seem busy, and I expected a better room, as a member — my mistake! I wasn’t crazy about the flimsy towels either. And, after the first night, the light over the vanity went out and I was told it couldn’t be replaced until the day we left?! This was not my typical, over-​the-​top service by any Marriott I’ve stayed in over the years! I gave it 2 stars because the desk receptionists were extremely courteous in greeting us when we arrived.

We loved this hotel. We come up to Auburn every few months to visit my husbands family and don’t have a place to stay… which is weird since were visiting family… oh well! We get to stay in hotels which can be fun :)
We’d stayed at a different hotel for the last year or so and hadn’t been happy with it. After we went to Borders we drove by and saw this place and decided to stay. One reason was because Marriott’s are generally pretty good and another is because we can get a family and friends discount sometimes (spiffy — huh??) and wanted to see if this was worth calling in the favor of a family friend once in a while to get the discount.
We only stayed one night and they gave us the Travelocity rate of $ 109 (122 total) even though we called on the phone, just because I mentioned the rate I’d seen online. That made me happy. They seemed to have everything there, pool — hottub — bistro. We will definitely be back. Another plus is that it is right off I-​5 so it had easy access to everything we do while we are in Auburn/​Seattle.

This is a great updated hotel. It has the new style Courtyard lobby and café. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rates are right in line with the rest of the Seattle area.
The rooms are the standard Courtyard design. Clean and simple.
The lobby has a lot of seating areas for socializing our meetings. There are several points to plug in.
The café serves Starbucks coffee and some basic food options.
They do offer a shuttle to and from the airport. That is helpful and saves money.

Nice place, nice employees
I stay at a lot of Courtyard hotels on business trips. This is one of the better ones.
Nothing fancy, just nice and quiet. It is right next to the freeway but you don’t hear it. It wasn’t overly crowded.
