I love this place. Decent prices for haircuts and the owner is from New York where she’s worked for years. I recognized the familiar skill and technique from what I am used to in NYC and I will only get my hair cut with her as long as I live in this area. I am asian and have fine long black straight asian hair and she knows how to cut it the way it’s supposed to be cut.

I brought my husband here and we loved it!!! Ms. Soo was very attentive, and cut my husband’s hair just the way he wanted it. We’ll be coming here for our haircuts from now on :)! Thank you Ms. Soo!!!

Soo knows what style you want and how you want it! Bring a picture and she’ll tell you how it’ll fit your face which is amazing. Most salons won’t listen to a word you say but she knows how you really want your hair to look. She’s skilled in a range of styles, from short to long, male to female, with all kinds of ethnicities. I had a couple of cuts from her and they all fit my round face well. Ask about her digital perms too. Perfect for proms or when you need some change in your life.

Soo was very knowledgable about the style I wanted and offered her suggestions for cut & style. Quick shampoo & cut & dry 40 mins in & out! She’s great with texturizing & precision cuts!

I showed her a picture and she recreated the look fantastically! All while explaining the process and giving me tips and advice for styling my new hair!
Her shop is gorgeously adorned with paintings and comfy chairs for waiting.
She is swift and talented!

I have been a customer here for many years. I have medium length hair, I generally have color, cut & highlighting. Soo, as owner/​operator is very experienced; worked as stylist in NYC for a period of time.
There are quite likely very few who can cut hair as well as she; if you let her know what look you’re after, she will make it happen. Right off, as with any hair stylist you must absolutely clearly communicate to ensure a mutual understanding of what is expected, e.g., process, outcome, price, etc.
Appointments are advised, however, I believe if her schedule permits, walk-​ins may be accommodated.

Went to get my haircut on Tuesday ³⁄₂₉ and boy was I suprised by the quality of the haircut. It’s tough trying to find someone who knows how to cut asian hair but I was very pleased with the style. Soo was very nice, friendly and open about providing suggestions. She spent alot of time making sure everything just right to the detail. When I told her I was on my lunch break, she even offered me a bottle of tea to take back. I will be coming back soon!

I started coming here a few months ago, and the haircuts are on point! The shop has a really homey feel and is really nice and clean. Friendly service as well. She seems to be skilled in various different cut styles as well as perms. Guys need nice haircuts too, right? I suggest you give this place a chance.

Today was my first experience at Haircomb, and I was greeted by a very kind lady named Soo. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she took a look at my hair and she described what she was going to do and also made me feel very comfortable. Something really important that I noticed about her was that she did everything so precise and careful, she really took her time and I feel she really does care about her work and really made sure that everything was perfectly even. She also gave me great advice after the cut on how to style my hair which I thought was pretty cool. The price was actually pretty good as I was expecting to pay way more than what she charged me. Will def be a go to place for me
Bottom line. Soo was a very helpful and kind korean lady, outstanding work for a very good price, and would recommend others to give her a chance if you were looking for a specific style that they probably wouldn’t be able to accomplish at a barber shop.

It was fast and nice though. Kinda weird they put a towel on your face while washing your hair but it was alright. Will come again.

I have been looking for a good hairstylist since forever. Tried many salons locally. Some high end places charged 60 – 70 dollars still disappointed. It’s really frustrating. I heard federal way for some good Korean salons and glad to find one on Unilocal.I called and got in the same day. I was happy with the fast service and good layering skills. It’s hard to find good Asian hairstylists. She also charges fairly. I got a cut for long hair and it was 40 dollars. I would say that’s pretty reasonable price. Nice Korean lady and she speaks decent English. I will return again.

This hair salon is very cute and cozy. I like when the hair stylist pay attention in what her client wants. Soo did a good job on my hair cut. I’m happy that I’ve found this place. Good place, great service!

I forgot to ask the stylist her name :(but anyways I came in really early. I’m new to the area and this was the first salon I came across. I saw it when I came by to eat at the soup place right by it. I looked it up on Unilocal and was surprised to see good reviews so I had to come in!
I came in wanting a basic two-​block cut. Like always. You’d think cause it is a basic cut that a lot of people would be able to do it easily. WRONG. I’ve been to so many salons all over Seattle area and the only two places that has done it perfectly is my old salon in LA and this place. It was very quick, she was very efficient and gave me tips on how to style and blow dry for better wear of the style. Price was very reasonable I now. I’m definitely coming back and recommending it to friends in the area too since they also have been having bad luck with stylists haha

Soo was very kind and her salon was also comfortable. She cuts very well and asks you when she recommends an adjustment to your hair. Other stylists don’t bother to ask and just chop your hair off. Soo has great customer service and it was very appreciated.
There’s not a lot of seating in the waiting area so call for an appointment ahead of time especially during peak hours and weekends. Grab a seat on the couch if you have to wait. It’s heated.

My daughter made appointments for both of us this morning, & we got in this afternoon. Soo is swift with her scissors. By the time she was finished with both of us, she had another person that she sat in her chair, then another 2 people walked in.
While she’s cutting your hair, she makes suggestions — hair products, tools, styles, etc., for next time, if you want to try. She’s not pushy at or aggressive about her suggestions either. She showed us products & tools… very nice! We are considering the special curling iron, for one of these days.
She is very knowledgeable — using both her Korean beauty products, as well as U.S. products.
I will definitely be back for my haircuts with Soo again! Thank you!

I came in to get a haircut for the second time here because I loved the first one I got. I also got a perm this time around.
She definitely knows how to cut hair in the style that you choose for your particular hair type. I showed her a picture and the result was excellent. I would recommend anyone to get their hair done at Haircomb. The two ladies were very friendly and understood exactly what I wanted. Thank you!!!

I’ve been wanting for several months to get a real Korean «look». Growing up as an adopted Korean in a state (New Mexico) with 1% Asian I never knew how Korean hairstyles are supposed to look and I could never find a Korean stylist. Since moving to Seattle, it’s been one of my goals to grow my hair long enough for a Korean style. After several months of waiting, the day came where my hair was long enough to do «something».
I am so happy that I found HairComb and the talented owner, Soo Lee! She gave me an honest assessment of what my hair could and couldn’t do based on hair length and growing style. I did a light perm, natural hair coloring and styling. 2.5 hours later I could not be happier with my new look. As Soo Lee said, «people don’t complain about me or else I wouldn’t be in business!»
While I wish I could keep her place a secret so I can get easily get an appointment, HairComb is a place I highly recommend. I will be making a trek down to Federal Way for the foreseeable future whenever I need hair services.
