Wild Waves Theme Park

We came here for the Christmas lights and rides on a chilly night and we were thoroughly impressed.
Firstly it was very cheap. 9.99 per person for unlimited rides. The roller coaster i went on was awesome and designed very cool. I just wish it was a bit longer. The other ride I went on was awesome as well.
There weren’t any lines but that may be because it was so late and cold but regardless it added to our great experience.
The people were friendly and the lights were awesome. Overall i would definitely be back in the summer to experience the water.

My 7 year old and I went to wild waves for the holiday lights festivities on Jan 1. Not having checked out the reviews, I was excited and so was my mini.
The rides were on the older side, there was trash all over the place, lines were moving super slow, even though there were relatively few people.
Most of the employees are teens, which is admirable that a employer will hire youngsters and give them experience, however a vast majority would fall under the category of: not wanting to be there, rude, power tripping. A few of the rides were broken, and one of the kid rides that goes up and down wasn’t going up and down. Maybe put a out of order sign on it to avoid a kid getting super excited then crying cause the ride doesn’t move up and down.
Thankfully my child was super into it, but at an older age I could see how this is a waste, and could be way better.

This review is of the Holiday with Lights that happens in December at Wild Waves. We had a blast! It was so worth going but I wish I would have given myself more time. It was our first time and I had no idea how much stuff there would be to do. My kids are 3 and 4 and they had so much fun! It is also fun for older kids and adults as well. We saw lots of teenagers and adults with no children there also, so it’s not just for kids. All the rides are FREE except the I-​5 dive and the Eagle Soar zip line (which my kiddos went on), everything else you can ride for free as many times as you want. There are limited rides open but it’s lots of them. I highly recommend going and we will definitely be returning next year!

I have been coming to Wild Waves in the summer for as long as I can remember. Enchanted Village in the winter is a favorite family tradition of mine. So yeah, I love this place.
I was fortunate enough to go to the Alaska Airlines Christmas Party here this past weekend. They rented out the park and so lines were much shorter than normal. Most of the families had younger children, so the kids rides were packed but the roller coasters had no lines at all. What a treat!
So many rides, so many lights, and even Santa Claus in the North Pole! I imagine there are at least a million lights set up on plants and on displays set up around the park in the winter. Seriously a gorgeous sight, and a great way to spread holiday cheer. I loved that an elderly employee at ticketing said Merry Christmas to everyone as they left.
In the summer, expect $ 18 lockers, scorching hot pavement, and half hour lines for the good slides, hence the docking of one star.

Rides were in working order, quick lines, grounds cleaned, food over priced and not worth it! The kids had fun and so did we! Frightfest was a success!

Would give it zero stars if possible… Halloween and wild waves do not mix well.
They advertised, for lil kids… Arts n crafts, jump houses, slides, rides, and costumed characters… Jump houses were uncovered and/​or wet… Like three rides she could go on, and some crayons on an outside table with a printed coloring sheet… Zero dressed up characters! SUPER LAME for a toddler!!!
I actually felt bad for taking her!
She could see others having fun, but she couldn’t have any! :(
Also entrance is at Wild Waves «Boo-​ville» is enchanted village and they make you walk around the lake the long way, bring a stroller!

Bathrooms are disgusting! Everything is being run by teens, horrible service… Didn’t see a single adult working there…
Total rip off… Unless you are dropping middle school age kids off to go on rides and hang with friends. Would not recommend to many.

My boyfriend and I came on a Monday. Thankfully, we came prepared by bringing a coupon I got from somewhere (there are coupons online and apparently at some select Safeways). Even with the discount, be prepared to spend a pretty penny.
If you’re planning to go, try to pack light. Towel, slippahs, and perhaps something to put your money, cards, ID, etc would also help. As much as it is to spend X amount while there, I’d say it’s a good idea to go ahead and splurge on a locker. Once you pay for one (including the refundable deposit), you’ll obtain and key that you can pin to yourself as well as a bracelet. Once you’re day is over, make sure to bring both items to get the deposit back.
The day we went, it was fairly packed — not too surprising. The wait time wasn’t too bad at most of the water rides as well as the lazy river. The best attraction (to me at least) was the activity pool. CAUTION: Please insure that all swimmers interested in this area are STRONG SWIMMERS. The deepest the pool goes is 12ft. I’m personally an OK swimmer, but I still had a hard time. There’s a «hidden» water shoot on the rock — OOOOOH MY GOSH. I saw my life flash before my eyes (PS — Don’t wear your sunglasses while sliding. TRUST ME).
A major con we endured wasn’t just trying to find pool chairs around the perimeter of the wave pool. It was the fact that there was a good area (left of the wave cool) that must have had a bees nest under their chairs. NOT FUN.

We were turned Down at security because my 4 year old daughter at the time was on a NG tube and had special formula to bring in with her.
We left in tears! Taking her out is hard, and takes alot of planning.
We were stopped by security and told we could not enter the park with her prescribed formula (from children’s hospital)
I filed a complaint almost a year ago, and finally heard back from them today. I was told I need to call 24 hours in advance to bring her formula in. Ok, this is insane! We go to movies, we don’t have to call 24 hours in advance?
We also had no issues in Disney world!
So then I asked them, do parents with babies on formula have to call 24 hours in advance!!!
Their reply was formula is allowed. Ok! Great. Why was it not allowed for my 4 year old? It’s MEDICALLY necessary for her! She was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Williams syndrome. (Google it:)) She didn’t eat. Not that that matters, it’s really none of their business why my child is on a NG tube.
Anyways, their reply back to my email was «we don’t allow any glass in our theme park!» What glass? They simply discriminate special needs familes.
As you see in the pictures, my emails back and forth with them today, as well as a picture of my daughters prescribed therapeutic nutrition! ! In a can, and in a paper box! Not glass!
Complete incompetent staff with zero compassion!

Bees! Bathrooms :-(Bees! Bleh!
Wild waves has expanded its property since I was there last, maybe 12 yeas ago. There are blaring problems with their expansion however, the restrooms and the changing room. They have so much space to build a new changing room building that is at least quadruple the size of the one they have now. This is an absolute must. Standing room only for 10 people when there were thousands in the park is a joke. I had to change my infant In a walk way because there was no way I could take him I the bathroom.
That’s issue 1.
Issue 2.
Bees. Honey bees. Are the dangerous? Probably not. Are they everywhere in the park? Yes. I think that hiring a «open hours» custodial crew is a must. There is so much litter and food everywhere that the bees swarm anything and everything. It’s awful. I feel horrible for the workers that are swarmed by literally dozens of bees all day. They all pretend like the bees don’t exist. That’s awful. Clean up!
3. Many of the rides were closed off, which was surprising because it was a Saturday in August. Maybe a fluke.

Oh boy, where do I start? Gone are the days that Wild Waves was a separate water park and Enchanted Village was the other part. Then Six Flags bought it and decided to combine both parks. It got good for a little bit with the addition of the wooden coaster Timber Hawk which is a pretty decent coaster.
Then Six Flags realized they were losing money and so they sold it in order to not lose any more money.
Fast forward to my visit today, Thursday 08÷20÷15.

When we got to the ticket booth, we were told that since August 1^st, the general admission went up to $ 49.99 in which I immediately called BS because that was not what was according to their website. Talk about false advertising. They said that they were working on it. Umm… today was August 20^th and it was supposed to be changed August 1^st. How long does it take to change something on a website?
So after pointing this out they honored the website price. This was one of many fails that we unfortunately encountered today.
As soon as we entered the park, the first thing I noticed was that pretty much all the employees were teenagers including the security. Secondly, the park itself was not kept up at all. My kids pointed out a couple of used band aids in the wave pool. Eww. Thirdly, there must be a huge bees’ nest somewhere because pretty much all the food stands and garbage cans had a handful of them flying around. Even the employees acted like it was a normal thing probably because it has been that way for a while now. All it takes is one person getting stung and a major lawsuit will shut down this park for good. Are you reading this, current park owners?
In closing, I wouldnt be surprised or disappointed if this park does shut down. As mentioned earlier, the only thing worth riding here is the Timber Hawk which is a wooden coaster. Once I saw those band aids in the wave pool, I stayed away from any attractions associated with water with the exception of Lumber Jack Falls, in which I think it may have been against my better judgement. My kids didn’t care and still did the wave pool and others. I proceeded to scrub them down with bleach and hose them down while wearing a hazmat suit as soon as we got back to my brother’s house. Please bring an epi-​pen just in case anybody in your party is stung and is highly allergic. I think Paul Allen or somebody that has billions of money should buy this place so that they can invest the money to make it a really good theme park that the state of Washington desperately needs.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the bees– they are out of control at Wild Waves. We went yesterday and couldn’t finish a meal (after waiting in line 45 min to get) because we were swarmed by bees (most all of the tables had bees on them and around them), they are everywhere even coating the icee machines so that they cannot be approached or used. I really am surprised no one in our party got stung. All of the trash cans had bees coming in and out of them, I’ve never seen bees out of control at a theme park.
We have been here several times over the years and this time we were just very disappointed in several things– the state of management at the park (no one managing the food workers– they are super slow and some were rude), how dirty it was everywhere (cleanliness factor), and the whole bee infestation (most waterparks have several bee traps out and full if they are having issues). I would highly recommend Slide Waters in Chelan or Silverwood Theme Park, both were super clean and friendly and somewhat affordable. Wild Waves has just gone downhill, it’s very sad because our kids do love to go there (thus giving it 2 stars when it probably deserves only one). It’s just not worth the price anymore.

How surprise this place only has 3 stars.

Good customer services from the entrance. Smile+ asking how I doing– ane that met my standard.
Yes, it’s a small water park and the ticket is expensive. Not gonna argue about that when it’s obvious compared to other parks.
The water isn’t dirty like people’s complaints at all. Very clear and doesn’t smell too much Clo in the water.
Wave pool was fun and should be the first place for visitors warm up body before getting on other games (just my idea).
The Mountain Dew rides were so fun since it’s new.
The pro thing was they have many life guards and they were friendly.
The Con was the ride was long and there were many stones on the concrete so hard for baby foot to walk.

Pros: great for families, friendly people
Cons: expensive, staff needs training on customer service (smile when serving customers) & long lines
Overall, it’s a great place to take the kids out to play, esp the hooks lagoon.

I like how people are complaining about long lines & how nasty the water park is. Well, what do you fucking expect when Seattle gets in the mid 90s for like 2 weeks straight and Wild Waves is the ONLY amusement/​water theme park in the Northwest? Errrrrryone and their baby mamas are gonna go cool down at a water park! Duh!
It doesn’t help when the part-​time employees are just teenagers who are just looking to get paid during the summer. So expecting top notch service here is like asking for a person with peladophobia to make out with your bald neighbor! Never gonna happen!
Parking lot to get in isn’t free — you have to pay $ 10. I was here on July 3^rd and it was in the 90s. The park was ridiculously busy as fuck and there was no way I was gonna leave my bag on the side without thinking it was gonna get stolen. Kinda sucks when people are dumb and don’t use their heads… Lol. I don’t know about you but I’d rather pay 10 bucks for a locker. $ 14.99 for a small locker but you get $ 5 back when you bring back your wristband and key.
The bathrooms ARE going to get wet. Helloooooo you’re at a water park and people are gonna be in and out all day in their bathing suits. On top of that, when I went, there was an employee stationed in the bathrooms to mop up the floors.
In the end, this park is okay. Nothing amazing and nothing horrible. When it’s busy in the summer, it’s gonna be busy so you can’t really complain! I wish I lived closer to Silverwood… Now that’s a park! If you’ve been there (you’ll know what I’m talking about), it has that hint of a Disneyland feel to it as well! Unfortunately, Wild Waves doesn’t offer that :(…

Oh Wild Waves… you had so much promise but there is much room for improvement. Here’s a summary of our visit today on June 30^th.
Pros:
Bought discount tickets for June, only $ 14.99 each!
Sufficient parking
Fun rides and shade outside of water park area. Zip line cost extra but was very fun.
Roller coaster lines weren’t so bad in the evening and the rides were a lot of fun. It’s a much more relaxing, peaceful and shaded area.
Cons:
This place is dirty. They don’t have anyone hired to clean this place during the day. If they do, he was probably sitting in the break room all day because we saw no one pick up or sweep anything. There were kids eating ice cream cones IN THE WAVE POOL, dripping ice cream into the water and the lifeguards did nothing. Trash dropped along the water line just sitting there the whole day. Stuff that looked like slushy vomit just sitting along the walkway. The bathrooms were one giant wet floor. Were they wet from water, or was that…*sniff* *sniff* yup I think that’s urine. The bathrooms are nasty. Did I mention the bathrooms are NASTY? Cuz they are.
Stuff gets stolen. On my way back from the wave pool (which was filled with hair balls and bloody band aids by the way) I heard a lady shouting about someone having stole her sandals I thought to myself, «that sucks, why would anyone steal sandals?» Two hours later, my wife’s Birkenstocks were stolen from the same seating area in front of the wave pool. On our way out, security was talking amongst each other about a stolen bag that had a wallet and keys in it. I asked the security guy if sandals get stolen a lot there and his reply was,“I can neither confirm nor deny that statement” which to me, means «Hell yes they do!» Pro tip: bring crappy flip flops and use a locker for anything of any value.
All waterpark lines are not just long, they’re insanely slow. We arrived at 10:00, it took us about 45 minutes to get into the park because of how badly organized the traffic flow was. Anyway, we went to our first water slide being still early in the day and it still took us at least 30 minutes to get to the top. We didn’t even have to wait for a tube, that’s just a regular line speed. We didn’t go on any more big slides after that because it wasn’t worth waiting 30 minutes for a 60 second ride. I then went to rent a tube to go on the lazy river with my daughter because the line was about 40 minutes long. We waited 30 minutes to get a tube, they only had ONE person running the rentals and when we finally got to the front he said,“Sorry, we’re all out of tubes” Needless to say, that was not a fun experience.
Not enough employees. Every concession stand or rental place had a massive line because they only staffed ONE PERSON to do the work of two or three. I bet the lines would go faster and the park would make more money if they just hired and trained more workers. It is ridiculous.
Crowded! If you enjoy feeling like an ant in a swarming ant colony then you’ll LOVE this place. We went on a Tuesday and there wasn’t room to even sit by the water. They market this place as the only theme park in Washington State and it seems everyone and their second cousin has come too. I hope they can improve their infrastructure to improve traffic flow and reduce wait times here because the demand is very high.
Pro tips:
1. Arrive at least 30 minutes before opening time and do the water park first. You’ll have less lines and maybe even find a seat. You know what? Make it an hour early just to give you time to park.
2. Get a locker. Your stuff will get stolen otherwise.
3. There are two water slides that you can’t use rental tubes on. Go on those first, then when you’ve had your fill of them rent tubes. This way you won’t have to worry about where to keep your tube during those rides.
4. If you are determined to wait in lines for water slides, rent tubes. Otherwise you will have to wait in two lines for each slide: the waiting for a tube line and the slide line.
5. Pack a cooler with ice and food and leave it in your car. When hungry, simply go to your car and eat. The food here isn’t good and it’s a pain to leave and come back to find parking again.
6. Bring cheap footwear. The pavement here gets way too hot and your feet will get badly burned if you don’t have beastly calluses. There’s not much shade or grass to walk on either. I say cheap because you don’t want someone to steal your sandals or mistake them for theirs.
7. Buy early in the season. The earlier you buy, the cheaper the tickets this is kind of a given though.

This place is gross. That’s really all you need to know. You will be better off swinging your garden hose over a tree branch and playing in your backyard.
I went into the kiddie area with my two-​year-​old and I was disgusted by the amount of children pushing her. Lifeguards are teenagers that don’t care, when they really should be kicking older kids out of the children’s area if they can’t act right. One child kept sliding down a slide and climbing back up it and knocking toddlers off the stairs. This just makes for an incredibly dangerous situation. There was also poop in the water and I told a lifeguard and he blew his whistle once and shrugged it off. I took my daughter out of the area and we were sitting nearby with friends and I noticed that no one cleaned up the poop for the 30 minutes while we were sitting there. Obviously they didn’t give a shit.
We won’t be coming back. Especially if we end up dying from some disease I’m sure we got here.

Wild waves is running a online special to the end of June for only $ 14.99 a person!
Great value! Loads of fun! The lines do get pretty long so I would suggest getting a rental tube.

This place simply is not the disturbingly dirty nightmare theme park these reviews led me to believe before I went. At the very beginning of the summer, they run a $ 15 special that made it worth the chance of having a less than stellar time, so me and my friend gave it a try.
My complaints are:
1. You have to pay at least $ 10 for parking on top of the entry price.
2. The food is so expensive it’s kind of laughable. I paid $ 5.99 for one slice of cheese pizza. It wasn’t terrible pizza, but Jesus, $ 5.99?!
3. You have to pay $ 14 for a locker, and if you keep this random wristband that has nothing to do with the locker key and give it back along WITH the locker key, they give you $ 5 back. This is such a ridiculous scheme to keep your $ 5 that I’m surprised the owners don’t find it embarrassing.
4. The concrete throughout the park will rip your feet to shreds. If it isn’t burning hot, it’s just plain gravelly and painful.
That said, I enjoyed a lot of other things about the park and found the experience worth it at the $ 15 price tag. I would not recommend it at the $ 40 ticket price for anything past the end of June.
Some of it’s better features are the wave pool with constant actual waves – most parks of this type have a little bit of wave action every 10 minutes but are otherwise just pools. There are also a few decent waterslides that are actually enjoyable once you get to the top. The efficiency getting through the lines can be terrible, but I imagine this was partly from the park being on low staff for the beginning of the season. It’s also great to be able to get on roller coasters and carnival rides at the same place with the water rides.
My two cents? It’s A-​Ok. No better, no worse, at $ 15. When the ticket price shoots up to $ 40, I would not make the investment.

Incredibly awesome, we did all the rides, got here early and bit the crowds. We started from the last corner and made our way ridding everything to the exit, lines looked long but it was about 5−7min wait. We did not do the big slides because the lines were long too and my 8yr old wouldnt handle in the heat.
But it was super enjoyable, spent all day here. Food is a little pricey as on every amusment park, bring your lunch if you can. People is very respectful you can leave your stuff on a chair and it will be your little spot there. Restrooms are all around and water fountains too.
I suggest get your tickets online, you end up saving a lot. Parking is $ 10dlls on top of entrance fee. :(but it was worth to park near by, kids end up very tired to walk far. No wifi available. Life guards on site.

Growing up, Wild Waves was the best thing everrrr. I would literally jump out of the car and practically be jumping out of my suit to get in there and get the day going. Now that I’m older, Wild Waves is so… Ew. It has it’s fun parts, but for the most part… Ew.
Food: There’s a variety of vendors available. Dippin’ Dots, other ice cream stands, elephant ears, chicken strips, etc. There’s a food place within five minutes walking distance wherever you are. The food is way too expensive, but that’s to be expected at a theme park.
Rides: There’s a lot of rides in Enchanted Village, and plenty for youngins to do. However, for the older crowd, you’re not going to find much that really excites you. The Wild Thing and The Timberhawk are probably the best rides that Enchanted Village has to offer. Over in the Wild Waves section, there’s a massive wave pool, numerous slides, and a lazy river. The lines are always ridiculous for each one of the attractions. The wave pool, while fun, is gross as shit. I’ve seen bandaids, hair, bees, etc. just floating around and people are just swimming like it’s nothing. I can’t even imagine how many little kids probably pee in here as well.
I’m sure I’ll be there quite a few times this summer, as my stepdad so graciously bought my sister and I a season pass. I do like how they supply a bracelet with a QR code now that you can load money onto so you don’t have to carry cash or a wallet around. Props to them for that.
If Wild Waves could figure out how to be cleaner, this place would be a lot better. With the number of visitors they get everyday, I can see how that’d be hard. Just remember to take a super intense shower once you get home.
