Our business is known for the healing atmosphere one will feel as they cross through the gate. We offer many modalities of healing massage and energy work (Reiki, Polarity and intuitive readings/​healing).

We are known for our signature food facials. Our body wraps, mud and clay wrap, mustard wraps, infrared sauna, foot detox, and hot tub treatments are detoxing and relaxing at the same time.

We have workshops on weight loss and other holistic health topics.

We have a successful 6 week weight loss and detox program and have 10 yrs experience in detoxing clients off medicines, sugar and more. While helping clients reduce stress and learn lifestyle changes.

Balance Studio Spa is home of The Key To Life Is Balance Tool Kit, written and produced by Melissa Stone Santangelo. History

Established in 2003.

Established in 2003 severing the San Lorenzo Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Located in a small quite community called Forest Lakes in Felton CA.

A day spa with a spiritual twist in a magical sacred place, Forest Lakes nestled in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains off Hwy 9 just minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 40 minutes from the Silicon Valley.

We have two private treatment rooms (one can also serve as a class space), two outside garden tents, hot tub, infrared sauna, outdoor shower and semi private bathroom with plenty of garden space. Our space has a healing and relaxing sense about it and our staff are professional and knowledgeable about their craft. From the time you walk through the dragonfly gate until you leave you will feel at peace and able to breathe. We offer private appointments, couples date nights and spa parties.

Melissa is the founder of an idea of a full service holistic medical fitness, wellness and skin care center all served up with the spa atmosphere. She created her dream to help others by opening the first of its kind in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in 2003. Melissa has led many classes, workshops and written many articles on the subject of energy based health care. In 2008 she produced and co-​hosted a radio show on KSCO 1080 called Radiance and Chocolate. Publishing a book about her own journey from rock bottom and back — The Key to Life is… Balance in 2008. Releasing in 2011, Melissa’s Balance Tool Kit. This kit is a total package of information to help anyone pull out of any out of balance situation using the tools of Yoga, Pilates, guided mediation, affirmations and written exercises that change old negative beliefs and patterns.

In 2016, Balance Studio Spa will move to a new location in Santa Cruz. Stay Tuned!
