We always love to go to Viviano’s when we are in Fenton. We go to get freshly sliced meats and cheeses, bread and olive salad. We have also gone and ordered off the menu for awesome sandwiches and cheese garlic bread. The personal attention they show their customers is hard to find in this day and age. They are always happy to suggest an item and let you try it if you are uncertain. It seems to me they really care about their customers.

The hubs and I recently moved to the area and wanted to check out good local places. I think we found it! We moseyed on over to Vivianos and were not disappointed. It’s a cool restaurant/artisan grocery store(in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you). We were cheerfully welcomed by someone who I believe was the owner. He was patient and helpful as he answered questions about the menu and made recommendations. I got the half caesar salad with Penne Roma and my husband got the ravioli and greek salad. He gave us a free drink for being first timers. The portions are generous, you get delicious homemade bread(always an appreciated touch), and the food was divine. Penne Roma has a kick, but if you like that, you will not be disappointed. Hubby liked the ravioli though the portion was a bit small for him(not to worry I had PLENTY and was able to share). As we were leaving, the owner told us to take a loaf of bread home for free. We noticed there were lots of regulars and the owner was very friendly. I love little small businesses like this as the touch of service and friendliness is unparalleled. Go and enjoy this little gem in Fenton!

I recently moved to Fenton from the North. And I’m am proudly, Italian. That being said, I’ve had a huge array of Italian made fare, and also my own good cooking, lol. I live right around the corner from this little slice of heaven. Everything is delish! Friendly staff too! Great prices. And having Boars Head sliced meats available in here is just great! The wedding soup is great! Mini meatballs are homemade. Delish! House made dressing is very good too. The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is the dough. Pizza is good. Better than most. But the dough has to go! I had the BEST cannoli ever right here! And it’s made fresh here with RICOTTA! Not overly sweet, light and the shell was CRISP! Bellisimo! Keep it coming Viviannos, I’ll sure be back to try something else! Soon! Chow for now

This was a gem, I would not have found if it wasn’t for Unilocal.I ordered the penned roma, little spicy. Perfectly cooked pasta. Only complaint would be that I had to much sauce or not enough pasta. I’m going with needing more pasta. Loved it. Person next to me ordered one of their sandwiches and it looked great. Big surprise for strip mall.

The atmosphere is amazing. An Italian restaurant owned by an Italian. What a concept. The people are friendly and the food is great. There is a small retail/specialty store as well. Well worth a visit!

Best place for Italian sandwiches in this area. Excellent selection of imported Italian food and wines, and the staff is very friendly.

The food was good. The service was good. It’s just that it seems a little over priced for what you get. I am referring to the menu. There is a wide array of Italian grocery items also. Was it tasty? Yes. Was it a must have again? No. $ 30.00 for 2 for pasta and a sandwich? I think I will pass.

Love the new layout! Viviano’s just remodeled and it like great. But don’t stop by for the new look. Go for the fantastic deli, amazing grocery items and wonderful wine selection. Boars Head and Volpi fill the deli case and everything that comes out of the kitchen is delicious. Mike Vivian can usually be found in the store and is an expert with the wine section. He’s happy to help with a suggestion. I can’t wait to go back to try more wing, salad and vino!

It’s like going to The Hill without going to The Hill. Great groceries with a wide variety of Italian desserts, ingredients and wine. Plus a full deli and eat in food service. The sandwiches and pastas are great.

I was looking for lunch in all the right places when I found this restaurant. Great spot for lunch in South County. I had a bowl of soup and a half sandwich and both were amazing! This is one of your St. Louis order at the counter and they will find you with your food places. The downside of this is that you need to know what you’re having when you walk in the door or be ready to have a line form behind you while you voire dire the girl at the counter to figure out what to order. Fortunately, I referenced Unilocal and checked their menu online so I knew exactly what I wanted. Minestrone soup — sheer perfection in a bowl. Vegetables cooked to the point of softness without being mushy or losing their individual flavors. Savory broth with just a hint of sweetness and a whole lot of flavor. A few pieces of pasta thrown in just for good measure. What a great bowl of soup! My half sandwich was the festa italiano. This warm Italian beef on a mufaletta roll with a garlicy spread and some melted cheese. Served with au jus on the side like a french dip and it is one fine sandwich. Based on the size, a half was certainly the right decision. The beef was seasoned well with plenty of flavor coming from the garlic spread and a nice amount of creaminess from the melted cheese. This is a sandwich I would gladly eat again.

I came in here recently with the family. Some of which raved about this place, and are the ones that picked it. I begrudgingly agreed to meet them there for a night out. My expectations were almost immediately confirmed. The staff seemed to be very aloof and incompetent, and the ambiance was pretty bleak. I tried to order one of the pasta dishes, but they said they couldn’t leave off the olives because it was pre-made, so I just settled on raviolis. I didn’t think you could mess up raviolis. Boy I was wrong. They came out, looked mostly uncooked, and were just about ice cold in the middle. The sauce was lukewarm, and had okay flavor. Nothing special, but no sauce could have saved these raviolis. Chef Boyardee ravioli’s would have been a treat compared to these things. One of the saving graces of this place is only a 5 dollar corkage fee if you BYOB. So if you just want to listen to music and enjoy your own wine, try it out. If you want to eat… go anywhere else…

This place is fantastic. The groceries can be a bit pricey, but they’re local, artisan things you can’t find anywhere else. I love the gelato they bring in from Gelato di Riso. Also their frozen stuffed pasta can’t be beat. It’s the only place I know where I can get things like imported rosewater — that is, the only place where walking in in my Star Wars T-shirts and Vans doesn’t get me dirty looks down the noses of the other customers and staff. I usually get pasta con broccoli, tortellini, the calabrese(healthy yum!!), the minestrone(another healthy yum — I don’t know how they make such a fantastic soup whereas every other version I’ve had tastes pre-digested), or cheese ravioli with red sauce. I love the veggie sandwich for lunch — another thing in which every other restaurant’s version is terrible, but Viviano’s makes it absolutely wonderful. Tiramisu is outstanding for dessert and totally makes up for all that healthy stuff I ate before. I get a ghiaccio now and then; very good. I prefer the almond flavor although I’m not sure if it’s still available. Employees are always very friendly. The owner is a great guy, always happy to see you. Also if you get a soup to go they wrap it up very carefully to make sure it doesn’t spill in the car; as someone who regularly brings soup home I can tell you that this is a big plus.

I came here for a networking event tonight. The Festa Italiano was good, but it was toooo salty for me. This sandwich made me love muffaleta bread. The au jus and roast beef were really salty. I loved it, but the salt killed it. The bread & the fruit cup were the only saving grace in this meal. I don’t know what it is with me & salt. But, maybe I am more used to home cooked meals where salt(AKA fish sauce & soy sauce) is used sparingly. The cookies that I got weren’t theirs, but still amazeballs! My name is Kat, & I am a cookie & cake-aholic. They have spumoni & Italian ice. Soooo many Italian goodies. Note to self, don’t come here insanely hungry as I did cuz I ended up spending more than I should. :P This place is a hidden gem & is really close to me. I will definitely be back!

What a gem! Italian market and deli in a strip mall. Went for lunch and they had a nice crowd. Walk up counter to order and plenty of comfortable tables and chairs. Ordered the hot roast beef and turkey panini. Roast beef was flavorful and served on a soft white roll with gooey melty delicious provolone cheese. Turkey panini had crunchy buttery bread, a delicious pesto sauce with artichokes, red peppers and cheese. Lots of meat, but not overwhelmingly thick. Perfect size to split with someone!(Although I ate half the panini and half the roast beef in one sitting without a problem. Yummy mango iced tea too! Go here! It’s a great lunch spot and with the beer and wine selection, I would come back for dinner too.

Viviano’s is my go to place in the lunch rotation for soup. Specifically, the Italian wedding soup. Sure, the meatballs are like Chef Boyardee meatballs and the pasta is a globular mush, but I can’t admit that when I’m in the mood for a light lunch, I’m not thinking this place. Well that or checking out the soup options at Maggie’s or mulling over some tom kha soup at zen. But typically, this spot wins out. They have solid sandwiches, my favorite being their muffaleta with a good balance of their green olive tapenade and… the other stuff. So yeah this place is a place to get a taste of the Hill without having to go all the way down there and to top it off, they have a decent selection of grocery stuff too. This place is definitely towards the top of the rotation.

Viviano’s is such a fun place to go eat. The Fenton location is particularly great because its in this little shopping plaza. When I take people there for lunch they know they are going to a hole-in-the-wall. It feels like an old fashion deli/grocery store. They have great pasta, salads, and sandwiches. I highly recommend trying their pasta and sandwich. The food is amazing. It’s not super cheap but its reasonably priced – especially for the quantities. You will mos likely have some delicious left overs. You can also get carry out from here. I’ve ordered pasta and salad from here over the phone and came and picked it up. If you get lucky you will meet the owner, he is awesome! Don’t forget to grab a nice bottle of wine before you leave. p. s. It can be busy around lunch time so get there early!
