Coastal Kayak is the most experienced water sports tour and instructional business on the Delaware and Maryland coast — in business since 1994! Specalizing in tours to Assateague Island National Seashore. Also offering Salt Marsh Tours convenient to Bethany Beach and Ocean City, Maryland as well as Cypress Swamp tours, sunset tours and many others. Coastal Kayak also offers catamaran sailboat rentals. We are located on a nice sandy bayside beach with plenty of free parking. We are located on Rt. 1 about 1 mile north of Ocean City Maryland and 3 miles south of Bethany Beach Delaware.

History

Established in 1994.

Coastal Kayak was started in 1994 offering guided eco-​tours. It was then expanded to offer rentals. Coastal Kayak moved to it’s current location in 1999 where they began offering sailboat rentals and instruction. They currently have over 150 kayaks, 60 standup paddle boards and 5 sailboats on site and available for rent and instruction.

Business Owner

Mitch has always been involved in sports. He was a professional tennis player and following his professional career he was very involved in teaching and coaching. He coached on the junior, collegiate and professional levels. Following his 20 years in the tennis industry he became interested and very active in water sports. He was a sponsored sailboarder, active surfer and started kayaking in 1992. He has been involved in kayak surfing, fishing and touring. He is currently a certified American Canoe Association Level 4 coastal kayake instructor trainer (certifies instructors). He is also a Level 2 certified ACA stand up paddle board instructor trainer. And an avid paddle board surfer.
