Just received an arrangement and the flowers were amazing. I adore white roses, but often times they are tinged brown or not really open. Not these… perfect. Made my morning. This is the second time I received flowers from here. The first time, they lasted for 2 weeks! The freshness is unbelievable.

Blumz provided beautiful flowers for my wedding on Belle Isle. My dress was very colorful and the bouquet matched perfectly. They were even able to include a small photo of my parents’ wedding in the bouquet!
We also held our reception at Blumz. The staff set up everything perfectly! We had about 60 guests and a band. My wedding day went smoothly from start to finish, and Blumz was a big part of that!

I waited until the very last minute to get flowers for my wedding. Okay, about three weeks prior (is that considered last minute for a wedding?). I blame it on the fact that I was planning a Michigan wedding from California. I didn’t need any for centerpieces or floral arrangements. That wasn’t really the aesthetic I was going for. I’m not really a flower person because my mentality is «yeah, they’re pretty… but the second you cut them… they’re dead.» I did not wanna spend much of my wedding budget on flowers (plus I cannot stand the «surcharge» that comes as soon as you mention the word ‘wedding’), but I knew I wanted white phalaenopsis orchids for bouquets and boutonnieres.
So after putting off the flower order for way too long, I decided to send out quote inquiries to 4 florists in the area through TheKnot. I messaged Westbourne Market, Irish Rose, another florist off of Woodward that I can’t remember, and Blumz. I was asking for a quote for 1 cascading bridal bouquet, 1 maid of honor bouquet, 2 mother of the bride and groom corsages, and 5 boutonnieres. Not a huge order. One of my sister’s friends who got married a year ago said that florists were going to laugh at my order because it’s not worth their time. Well, surprise surprise… the only florist who returned my message and contacted me with a quote was Blumz! Not to mention, I sent out the inquiries on a Friday afternoon and Blumz got back to me within 24 hours and on a Saturday. (My sister’s friend just so happened to have gotten her flowers from Blumz too. She also did not have a huge floral order for her wedding.)
At the end of the day, I didn’t want to spend more than $ 300 on flowers, but considering phalaenopsis orchids are one of the most expensive flowers out there, $ 470 wasn’t terrible (but more on cost later). We were able to avoid the almost $ 90 delivery charge because we picked our flowers up from Blumz’s downtown Detroit location. (I placed the order in Ferndale, and the sales rep in Ferndale was the one who suggested that option.) We were staying at the Ren Cen Marriott and got married at The Rattlesnake, so while the girls got hair and make-​up done, the boys hopped onto the People Mover, got off a block away from Blumz, picked up the flowers, and hopped back onto the People Mover. $ 90 saved! Very convenient that this option was available. The boys said that the florist at the downtown Blumz joked that there «weren’t that many flowers» considering four guys went to do the pick-​up. It was an adventure for them nonetheless, and considering how guys can get ready in 15 minutes, it was an easy task to delegate to the men.
The men’s boutonnieres came out exactly the way I wanted them to. They looked great! Prior to the wedding, I gave the sales rep at Blumz a picture of just a simple, single white orchid boutonnière, and they matched it exactly. They were just the right size. Perfect.
My only minor complaint would be that my bouquet cost $ 195. All the corsages and boutonnieres were priced reasonably at $ 30 and $ 20 a piece. I get that phalaenopsis orchids are expensive, but I can walk into Trader Joe’s here in California and find an orchid plant for $ 12.99 (one stem with multiple blooms). I requested for my cascading bridal bouquet to be smaller and simple because as I already said, I’m not a flower person. All my friends know that too, so I thought it would be truly inauthentic of my personality to have some giant bouquet on my wedding day (It’s just not me!) Blumz gave me exactly what I wanted, but I still think $ 195 was a bit steep for what I was asking for and what I got. It just wasn’t $ 195 worth of flowers, and it wasn’t an ornate bouquet (again, in Blumz defense, I didn’t want ornate.) Maybe it’s my own fault. Maybe I should have gone to Trader Joe’s in Michigan and made the bouquet myself (kidding). But I definitely felt like $ 195 was incurring the dreaded «bridal surcharge.» Maybe I should have tried to haggle or negotiate. That’s just not my style. Also, it was three weeks before the wedding and I wanted to be able to cross flowers off of my To Do List.
All in all though, Blumz was responsive, professional, and convenient. They are definitely willing to fulfill smaller wedding orders, which is a huge plus! I recommend them. (And I’m still astounded that the other florists never even got back to me. Not one. Business is business… at least that’s what I thought anyway.) Thanks Blumz!

Last week I called to order flowers for a friend in the hospital. I gave a budget and some ideas of what I wanted but didn’t have a specific arrangement in mind. The flowers were delivered promptly and my friend loved them. She also commented that the staff commented on how beautiful they were — which I took to mean that they stood out as better than what they are accustomed to seeing from other places. I was grateful for the ease of ordering and that even without specifying an arrangement they exceeded my expectations. I will definitely order from them again! Thank you, Blumz!

What a beautiful store! I was in last week, to get a bouquet for a special little dancer in my life. Not only did I get a gorgeous arrangement, the service and personal attention was outstanding!!!
Then, out of the blue, I won a dozen Roses!!! They didn’t even know it was my birthday!

I am happy that Blumz responds promptly to Unilocal review complaints, both in offering responses and actual solutions for how they will address the situation you have in order to make sure that other people in the future won’t experience similar problems.
The flowers I got there (in the past) were lovely. Assuming their customer service remains professional and accommodating, I’m up for giving them another chance.

Blumz saved Mother’s Day for me! The flowers I originally ordered from a well-​known online company were awful and fell VERY short of expectations. They also didn’t care to «make it right». I placed a replacement online order with Blumz and then called to give them the back story. They were already aware of my order and very sympathetic to my plight. Oh yes, this was the afternoon before Mother’s Day. They delivered a FABULOUS arrangement the morning of Mother’s Day — and the delivery person went out of their way to make sure they got delivered. I would TOTALLY recommend Blumz — they were compassionate, professional, and true to their word.

I brought in a sorry looking grapevine wreath that had been hanging on my door for some time. For a modest amount, my ugly wreath was transformed for Spring into a beautiful, vibrant palette of color!!! For a modest price, I was thrilled with the outcome! Thank you for your creativity and eye for beauty! I will certainly be using Blumz again and again for my decorating and floral needs!

I have shopped at the Blumz location in Ferndale sporadically over the years and have always had a good experience. I am most impressed by a recent transaction in which I needed a sympathy floral arrangement made from perennial flowers. Family members of mine contacted several other florists who were unable to accommodate such a request. However, I called and spoke with Robbin, who went above and beyond with a gorgeous arrangement — all while sticking with my budget. Delivery was seamless. I will never use another florist again!

The prompt, professional, customer service coupled with amazing creativity in visual design, make Blumz By JRDesigns a pleasure to work with. From the first contact via telephone, to the final delivery of the product, these people were a delight. Go check them out. I guarantee you will also become a fan!

My fiancé and I met with a representative to plan our wedding. We spoke about the feel of the wedding and she showed us swatches of linens rather than full linens which was a surprise. We were expected to book the company before seeing an example of what our tables might look like. Anyway, at our meeting, which was on a Tuesday, she told us she would send us a quote for wedding products/​services by Thursday. Also, since we told her we need an officiant she said that we’d be receiving an email from the officiant they recommend. So, Thursday came and went… then the weekend… so on the following Monday I emailed her for an update. She responded that she had been sick and sent me a photo of an arrangement that did not resemble anything that we spoke about. Once I received the estimate I emailed her and asked if the quoted price would decrease or increase based on certain flowers. I also sent the representative some photos of what we spoke about regarding flower arrangements. Additionally, the officiant never contacted me either.
It’s been over three weeks since our meeting and I still have yet to receive an email back. Our quote for services was around $ 9,000 which seems like a good potential client, right? What company takes the time to write up an estimate and then never follows-​up with the potential client, even ignoring emails? I’m not sure why the company ignored a potential client, but I wasn’t about to beg for their services. Needless to say, we found a different company that actually made up tables for us onsite BEFORE we booked with them. Good for us because this other company quoted us something way less AND we were able to view the products before booking, so there will never be a question of whether we are paying for quality products.

Horrible experience during a painful time! First let me begin by saying, I always admired the window displays as I passed Blumz when they were located on E. 8 Mile Rd. then in the downtown area. Always kept them in the back of my mind for use if/​when I needed floral arrangements. Unfortunately, a very tragic event happened in my family, and because I could not travel at the time of the funeral, I sent a beautiful (per website photo) floral arrangement in my stead. However, Blumz did not live up to their displays. There was nothing sent to represent my support of family members. One message was left on my voice mail 11/​28, stating, «could you give us a call back regarding your order»! Which I did not receive until days later. Upon contacting Blumz, Shelly. I explained the tragedy and my disappoint with their services. I was assured the floral arrangement would be sent immediately. This did not occur (even got the salutation wrong!)
Here is the 2^nd email I sent after my very disappointing experience with Blumz.
This is in reference to order _​_​_​made on 11/​28/​2014 to be delivered ¹¹⁄₂₈. However, due to failure by Blumz to deliver requested floral arrangement on 11/​28, 11/​29, 11/​30, 12/​1, 12/​2, 12/​3, and 12/​4, I cancelled this order both in writing on ¹²⁄₃ and verbally by phone ¹²⁄₄. I was assured by salesperson that my order would be cancelled and they «certainly, understood why!» As a result, I went with another florist who delivered successfully!
As of today 12÷17÷14, I do not see the return of money paid for the «Cancelled» floral arrangement. I am sure this is an undetected error on your part, as I’m sure you do not run a business where the customer cancelled, yet you fail to return monies paid.
Therefore, I am requesting AGAIN in writing, that you please credit my account (you have banking information) the full amount $_​_​_​immediately. Please notify by email that funds have been returned.
Thank you in advance for you cooperation.
UPDATE…monies repaid ¹²⁄₁₉ as a result of my second email; however, received a «confirmation» of delivery, yet no delivery was ever made… wth? No apology from Blumz, etc… if you are trying to send out of state, go with Tele flora or some other reputable florist. Will never use this company again and will pass the word on, horrible experience!

I used Blumz for my wedding flowers as well as guest escort cards. They did a fabulous job and I highly recommend them. My flowers looked perfect and full on the day of the wedding and they all lasted well into the following week. I worked with Rochelle who was very knowledgeable, creative, and organized. If you are looking for flowers for an event, do not look any farther. I must have visited all the flower shops in the Ferndale/​Royal Oak/​Birmingham area and then some, and Blumz was the most impressive. My other vendors were thrilled when they heard they would be working the Blumz and now I understand why.

I ordered simple flowers for our wedding party (just bouquets and boutonniers) and they came out lovely, and perfect. Exactly as ordered. Michelle worked with our budget and were able to make a couple last-​minute amendments to the order. She followed up with a hand-​written thank you note and gift cert to make sure I was satisfied. My wedding was this past Saturday, June 7^th. I was lucky enough to meet Robbin Yelverton, one of the owners, at my sister’s wedding last summer. He did their flowers as well as officiated their ceremony. I knew I wanted to use Blumz because shortly after I met him I felt like I’d known him for YEARS! He is so friendly and helped the vision I had for my wedding come to fruition, a thousand percent! I am SO happy with my experience using Blumz that I am probably going to create reasons for needing to use their services so I can talk with Robbin again. As soon as I get my pictures back from the wedding I will be posting some so everyone out there can see the beautiful space they created for us! They helped my wedding day become as memorable as it possible. You would be crazy NOT to use them! #blumzforlife

If you are driving on 9 mile heading East they have a large sign in the window that is very to read. On the day in question it said Roses $ 9.99. I pulled in there and have gotten flowers from here many times before. They have been nice arrangements at decent prices. My ex-​girlfriend (or girlfriend at that time was having a bad few days at work so I was planning on stopping and buying roses to surprise her and put a smile on her face. I knew she would like it even better because it is just not flowers on Valentine’s Day. This time I stopped in there and figured it was perfect timing, that they were having a special or overstock or something. I knew it was probably extra for the fillers and I am always fine with that, it is worth it to make it nice (the green stuff and little white flowers they add, I have no idea what they are called). Here is the surprise hook, the 9.99 was only for half a dozen… but the sign did not say that. Granted it did not say a dozen but it only makes sense to me after buying flowers for girls since I was a teenager. I still bought her the roses and took her out for sushi and it did make her smile… Yay !!!
Here is the real funny part… the sign said 9.99 on Feb 4^th 2014… today is May 9^th 2014 and the sign says 24.99 for a dozen… at least this time it says a dozen. But here is an extra bit of info… three months have passed and in those three months they took down the 9.99 sign and put up a 14.99 (did not state the quantity of roses) then took that down at put up a 19.99 sign (again no quantity stated). So in 3 months that is a heck of an increase. Like I said in the beginning, they do a good job… I just am unhappy with their advertising and pricing strategy…9.99? 14.99? 19.99? 24.99? I recently ordered flowers for a friend who’s dog had passed. I don’t feel I got my money’s worth.

As much as I love flowers and frequent Ferndale I’m not sure how I passed up this establishment so many times. It was on my way home and I figured I’d stop in. For some reason the outside of the building looked very inviting so I figured why not.
I don’t like «occasion» flowers. You know the ones you can typically expect for Valentine’s Day, birthday, etc. so I’m always in the market for great looking, unique center pieces.
I was actually looking for an arrangement that had red and pink flowers in it without it looking too Christmas-​ee. So I stopped in and found the perfect arrangement to compliment my non-​traditionally decorated tree. The price was in my budget as well.
I was definitely not expecting Blumz to be an event planning company as well. I was so excited about the gallery of pictures I saw as well as the service I was given that I do believe I’ve found not only the folks that will design my arrangements for my wedding but I’m including them on the list of planners I’ll select from.
The service was A1 and I can’t wait to place my arrangement on my table!
