I have had my car for less than a month.
Today when driving the car, I got a check engine light. This was on my way to the dealership to pick up my license plates. I contacted the sales representative who helped me with the sale to see if I could get the error checked. Cars are machine and things happen.
The sales representative indicated that the service department was already closed and I need to bring the car in Monday to Friday 9 AM — 5 PM during working hours. I explained to him that this was not an option because I work during those hours he was asking me to drop off the car. I asked if he had a loaner and he said no. He said there was a technician available today but I had to make into his service department in the next 30 minutes or take the car to a different dealership.
The after sale service at Land Rover of Tacoma is incredibly rude. The perception that I have received from the sales department is that once the sale is completed; good luck with your car and any problems you may face. We already got the sale closed. I am not in sales but here are some ways I would have handled the situation.
— Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the brand new car you bought AND here are some things we can do to get you fixed. I can schedule an appointment for you closer to your job with a different LAND ROVER service department that will give you the same level of care.
— Drop the car off and we will put you in a loaner. Once we fix your car we will let you know when it is ready and you can come pick it up.
— Have you checked the gas cap to make sure it is closed correctly?
The things that I was told that will drive customers actively away from Land Rover and tarnish the brand reputation.
— My sales representative told me «These things happen all the time.» Really! this happens all the time with brand new Land Rovers. If he told me this at the time of purchase, I guarantee I would have never bought the car.
— «Schedule the appointment with a different dealership» Again really! What was the point of buying the car from Land Rover of Tacoma? If I knew this was the attitude and ownership experience at the time of purchase, I would have never bought the car.
For those interested in a good car ownership experience please do your homework. Having a nice car is great but if the ownership experience is just as important.

I just bought a brand new Range Rover Sport over Memorial weekend and had a great experience. I went to several dealerships the past week or 2 and left frustrated because of the bad service I was receiving, so I drove all the way down to fife to try them out and I don’t regret it at all. The customer service was the best yet that I have recieved. From the first minute I got there, to the minute I drove off on my brand new Range Rover, Anthony couldn’t of been more helpful. I didn’t feel any pressure from him, no pushyness, he was very professional, helpful and treated me well. He made sure everything was set up exactly how I liked it, took the time to explain all the controls to me, etc. I will definitely be coming back to him for any further purchases (even though it’s an hour and a half drive for me, we’ll worth it)

Had a great experience today w/​them — even though I am not a customer, they assisted me with paperwork and a purchase w/​another dealer. This so I can take delivery on-​site of an out of state purchase from a sister brand. Since I will be getting my service done here, it only makes sense to build a positive relationship w/​my local shop. I can’t remember the last time I made such an effortless purchase, and the finance manager here really helped out. I will certainly consider this when I look for my next vehicle.

This place is amazing! After I purchased my 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport they said I was now family and they really meant it and know how to take care of you. My LR was in a collision 1 month after I purchased it and the repair shop did a lot of interior damage, scratches in the plastic of every door and black grease on the leather. After the autobody shop failed to fix the damages they made I called Clarence the sales manager to tell him of my unfortunate experience and he told me to bring my car in for a complete complimentary detail and they would see if they could fix the damage that was done. Now if that isn’t great service then I don’t know what is! John in the service department took excellent care of my car and even gave me a brand new loaner that was the exact same color combo. I am so impressed with this place and highly recommend! Chez my salesman even called me to see how I was doing after the accident. So glad I chose them to purchase my LR from, they are a fantastic addition to my family:)

I would like to say that my wife and I are new to the Land Rover product, we have both become HUGE fans of the platform. The 2005 LR3 and 2008 RR Sport were both used, we have had both brought up 100% with Land Rover of Tacoma. We had a problem with the Detail work on the RR Sport and Land Rover of Tacoma acknowledged that it was not 100% and up to their standard. Some changes have been made to the detail work and who is doing it and they made the truck right with us… We will be back for the rest of our Land Rover work

Service Department performs unacceptable, unsafe work. Do not allow them to rotate your tires as a part of your standard maintenance. All lug nuts will be loose on all four wheels. Be exceedingly careful as you drive away to make sure your car is safe. Expect to be treated with disrespect when you call to advise them of the problem, expect excuses, expect no written resolution. Expect no changes to training of mechanics or service writers. Your return business is not important.

I bought a 2016 Land Rover LR4 from Charles/​Ches/​Clarence here last week and was treated like a friend. No pressure, fair price, easy going people working in a beautiful dealership. I’ve purchased many cars in my 61 years on this earth and never had a better experience.

Land Rover sold us a 2016 Range Rover Evoque that is plagued with know electronics issues.
The first issue we noticed was the park assist not operating properly, it would rarely ever detect a spot and even when it detected a spot it failed miserably when trying to park. If we didn’t intervene there were more than a few times the vehicle would’ve plowed into another parked car.
When driving back to Seattle from portland, the vehicle became possessed. Lights started flashing, the alarm started blaring, doors and the rear hatch start locking and unlocking. It was terrifying not only for the driver but also for everyone else on the highway as well. I am sure more than a few people though the car was stolen since it was acting as if it had been. Land Rover acknowledged there is a known issue and said they are working on it. They provided no ETA on the resolution.
The rear hatch, there is a foot motion sensor, This should detect your foot when waved underneath and open the rear hatch. This was designed so that if you had your hands full of groceries and what, not the rear hatch would open if a key was detected. It is a great feature. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work! Land Rover again acknowledged there is a known issue and said they are working on it. They provided no ETA on the resolution.
The rear backup camera fills with condensation and needs to be replaced. We have owned the vehicle less than 3o days and hardware is already failing. My BMW I had prior to a Land Rover needed one service item in 3 years, brake replacement. This vehicle has poor quality and craftsmanship.
Sales advised us the vehicle had front and rear heated seats. After taking possession of the vehicle and reviewing the build spec sheet we determined it does not have such. If anything the build sheet is very misleading noting that the LOWER model, the SE has both front and rear but the HSA has only front heated seats. First time in my life where I have seen a LESSER vehicle is equipped with more options than a higher priced model.
The vehicle also seems to have issues with speedometer calibration. It’s equipped with a start-​stop function and when resuming driving from a stop and the engine starts the speedometer takes a few minutes to correct itself. They noted a few miles per hour difference but obviously spent little time debugging such issues. This shows that their service center either doesn’t care about the vehicles problems or is incompetent.
Lastly, our vehicle has been sitting at Land Rover now for more than a week while they are attempting to isolate the issues we listed. I am responsible for making a monthly lease payment for a paperweight at this time. They have done nothing to either trade us for a different vehicle or attempt to make things right. All we hear from them is «We are trying to isolate the problems, working with Land Rover directly, and will update you soon as we hear something.» This is entirely unacceptable.
If Land Rover wanted to make things right they would take back this disaster of a vehicle under the Lemon Law and gives us something that works. Unfortunately, they could care less about the consumer and instead prefer to line their pockets with my money since I am stuck paying for a defective vehicle.
I can assure you, the States Attorney General and my lawyer will both be hearing from me regarding all of these matters.

I purchased a new Volvo from Raymond, who was outstanding. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was low key, no pressure, and followed through on my special order. He kept me updated via email and was equally professional at delivery. I highly recommend the dealership in general, and Raymond in particular. Excellent experience.

Purchased a Jaguar X-​Type when they first came out in early 2000’s, although the service and the car were ok, when we returned to purchase another car, the salesman passed us off to someone else because another couple came in after us who were ready to buy right then when we said we were just looking and not ready for another month or so. I was a little offended. We were told a few different things by our 2^nd salesperson and mislead so I insisted we leave and we will not be purchasing a car here again.

So service manager rectify the issue i had with my last service. Seems this service was good. Clean service work and no messy interior (have a light interior) when it was complete. Shane came up promptly/​friendly as i pulled to the garage. I will be returning. Thanks LR of Fife/​Tacoma to addressing/​rectifying this issue and i will return my service needs.

I financed my first car here, and Chad was my salesman. I had to jump through quite a few hoops to close the deal, and he jumped through them with me, doing whatever it took to get me into my almost dream car. (Astin Martin comes first, had to settle for a BMW, because I’m not an independently wealthy 23 year old) I recommend this dealership, and Chad Hensley specifically.

Service here is spectacular! We have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience, with Ben, service manager going above and beyond always.

James LeBlanc was recommended to us by our neighbor’s parents who live near Tacoma (we live in Montana). They had purchased two Land Rovers through James, with great results. We were trying to locate a preowned vehicle for my husbands mother in Seattle that was small, economical and in good shape as she had hers totaled in motor vehicle accident. We had tried other routes with no success to procure this vehicle. James was eager and enthusiastic to help us out, giving us a sense of ease. We reviewed many preowned vehicles on the O’Brien Automotive Group website weekly. We found two Toyota Yaris cars at Toyota of Renton. James facilitated the connections to Toyota of Renton through his sales manager, and we are in the process of purchasing a preowned Toyota Yaris for my mother in law. Worked with Clarence awesome guy!!! Love our new Range rover Evoque. We’ve looked at many dealerships and the evoque has always been first choice. We originally tried making an offer at landrover in Lynwood because we live in kirkland but they were horrible. No customer service! They were not wanting to negotiate at all. We walked away. So happy we came here if YOURE searching for a great car from landrover stay away from Lynwood/​Bellevue (owned by same manager) come to Tacoma!

I recently decided to trade in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Yes, it is only 3 years old, but I had put 100k miles on it because I used to commute 120 miles daily for work. Now that I only work 20 miles from home I wanted a new car to start over with:) I picked out a new Range Rover Evoque Pure Plus, fully loaded. The first night I was in I had a full on battle with the appraiser because he wanted to give me barely anything for my Jeep, when it was $ 40,000 just 3 years ago and is in perfect condition. I ended up storming out. The next day the general manager, Joe, called to make things right. I left with the Range Rover, a good interest rate, and was happy how he bargained with me on the new car’s price, and my trade in. My salesman, Ches, was also awesome. He was SUCH a nice guy, and I loved how easy to talk to he was. He did not pressure me at all, and was a trooper because I had my four year old with for the whole process:)

Came in today to get an oil change for the first time, I’m a new land Rover/​Range Rover owner so I didn’t know what to expect. I was treated with the upmost respect and the service writers weren’t very pushy at all. The service crew completed the car very fast and did a great job detailing the vehicle. I’m a proud ranger rover owner because they have a true passion for what they sale and service at the Tacoma land Rover!

I had the worst experience at Land Rover of Bellevue, but really liked the Evoque I drove, so we decided to head to Fife to see if it would be any better. It was night and day compared to our previous day. Gordon was AWESOME. The same questions we asked of the other salesman in Bellevue the day before were addressed with real, honest responses. which is what we were looking for all along. They didn’t have the color choice that I wanted, but I didn’t care. I bought anyway.
There was an accessory that I wanted, but being Sunday their parts department wasn’t open. Gordon said he would follow up and let me know if they had any and what the price was. He didn’t work on Monday, but called me first thing in the morning anyway with the info!
All around this was a great experience, from initial sale to finance.

We recently visited this dealership to look at a Range Rover. The car salesman let us look at the car and told us that the car needed work done to it first. The salesman had been in constant contact with us about that status of the car, and when we went in two days later, we were told that the price on the internet was wrong. It’s actually going to be $ 3,000 more! You can imagine our shock and disappointment to this news.
The dealership offered no type of apology or compromise, and I was digusted walking out of there. I’ve never known a business that would not honor the price listed, as it was THEIR mistake, not ours! Even a McDonald’s would honor a price that was listed incorrectly.
So know that if you see a price online, that it will be at least $ 3,000 more than what they list.
