I have never brought close in to sell but always been a customer and love the styles and clothes you do accept. The prices are always great and have plenty of my size. The staff is always there when I need something. The biggest plus of all is this location had a bathroom. The one on east Washington doesn’t and my wife and I shop in there so long I always have to use the bathroom before we check out spending hundreds of dollars usually. Will keep shopping here verse anywhere else for sure!

They took 7 things of mine, and gave me $ 13. That’s less than $ 2 an item. I had brought in a box full of free people, urban outfitters, forever 21, etc. they turned down 90% of it. I took the same stuff to another consignment shop the next day, and they bought about 10 more items for $ 50. I will never sell to them again.

People working were rude. Brought in plenty of quality shoes, clothes, and purses, only bought $ 15 worth. Such a rip off!

Plato’s Closet is a consignment shop for the younger guys & girls who want the latest trendy fashions, but don’t want to spend retail to get them. They have reasonable prices and will buy your gently used items for credit or cash. There is a large selection of shoes, accessories & clothing for both young men and women with plenty of dressing rooms for you to try your selected outfits on in. If you join their frequent shopper club(FREE), you can earn discounts by email or text messages for each time you make a purchase or sale in the store. The staff is very helpful and will take the time to assist in finding that perfect outfit for you! This is a definite life saver for our ‘Back To School’ budget.

My wife and i were dropping off some of our old clothes at platos closet. We walk in and a ghetto thug greets us at the door with a gangster hat cocked to the side. My wife starts filling out the paperwork and we were in a hurry so she asked if we could leave the clothes and come back. The people at the counter said fine. The thug master told us we’d have to write our drivers license number down and my wife had left hers in the car so we said we’d just give it when we came back. The people at the counter rudely said that they weren’t going to go through the clothes without a license number. I protested and the thug said«I already explained it to her once if you were listening». I grabbed the clothes and left. Rather give it to good will then sell to these identity stealing pricks.

While this is a better place to shop than Goodwill, it’s not that much better of a place. They promise name brands, but most of the clothing is from Target(Xhilaration, Mossimo), Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Rave and similar bargain basement clothing stores. I have no problem shopping at these places from time to time, but if I’m going to buy a $ 10 shirt, I’m going to buy it new at that store — not for the same price used at Plato’s Closet. The styles are not up to date and I found absolutely nothing I was even tempted to want to buy. Overall, I was very disappointed.

First of all, I have never tried to sell here, but I am glad they are picky about what they buy. Otherwise, I would just go to Goodwill where the items are cheaper in price and quality. That brings me to my next point, don’t go expecting to pay $ 5.00 for a pair of name brand/designer jeans. On my most recent trip, I spent $ 25.00 on a used pair of Lucky jeans. In reality, you can go to Kohl’s and buy a brand new pair of jeans for $ 15.00 Plato’s in Fishers does have a GREAT selection of name brand clothes, but you will pay for it, but at the same time it is still cheaper than paying for the same items new.

Eh, this place doesn’t really do it for me. I thought the same thing years ago when I tried selling some stuff at their Greenwood location and, like Mia M. was disappointed with what they offered me. I’d rather donate my old clothes to Goodwill and know that I am helping a good cause rather than take the pennies they’ll offer you. The store does have a distinct thrift store aroma, which is fine if you can find dirt cheap prices to accompany it. I didn’t have the energy to go through the racks of clothes, but I did notice a skirt exactly like one that I already own. For comparison’s sake I thought I had better see how much it cost. I bought the skirt brand new at Charlotte Russe three summers ago, and Plato’s only had it priced a few dollars less than what I paid way back then. I did find a few cute pairs of shoes at decent prices($ 12 for a barely worn pair of super cute Guess kitten heels), but sadly none of them fit. I didn’t stay too long because they were blaring a hip hop satellite radio station so loud that between the music and the aroma, I could barely think. Bottom line — for me, the prices here don’t justify any of the hassles. One positive note — the employees at Plato’s Closet were much more friendly than the women working at Zoey’s a couple doors down.

I’m an avowed thrift store shopper, and Plato’s Closet is probably my favorite haunt. They are extremely picky about what they accept – which is good for the shopper, but bad, of course, for the seller – so you waste less time sifting through crap than you do at most secondhand stores. You can find a wide range of stuff here, from cute tees with kicky sayings to jeans to miniskirts to business wear to club clothes. I also like to get fun shoes here for really cheap, usually under $ 10. Jewelry and purses can also be good, but be sure to work the zippers on the purses before you buy them. The last time I bought one here, the zipper broke within a couple days.

I’ve found a lot of cute stuff at Plato’s in Fishers for super-low prices, and unlike other retailers, they always have plenty to choose from in my size(XS/S). I’m not above buying used clothing if it’s clean, in good condition and at the great price Plato’s offers. I’ve gotten some gorgeous work clothes(business attire) from Banana Republic and J Crew that I would have never been able to afford otherwise. However, trying to sell clothes there is an absolute waste of time. I recently brought bags of new and nearly-new name brand clothes(including a 100% silk tank top from Arden B with the tags still attached), and the high school girl behind the counter offered me $ 2.40 for two tank tops, one of which had a small hole in it. She informed me the rest of the stuff was too faded or out of style. I refused the«payout» and will take my chances with eBay. I should mentioned that I have had good luck selling at the Avon Plato’s Closet on Rockville Road.
