Purrs & Gurrs

I have a labradoodle (still somewhat of a puppy) who can be a little «difficult» at times. However, I was thrilled after taking her to Purrs and Gurrs for the first time today! They were able to deal with her just fine and didn’t make me feel like my dog was «bad», like the big box store that I had been taking her to did.
For the same price, maybe even a little less than a chain dog place, she got beautifully groomed and very well taken care of. I’ll be taking Clover back there for sure, as well as my cockapoo for all further grooming.

Recently we decided to give purrs and gurrs one more try as a groomer. We had left them before years ago when they tried to give us the wrong yorkie even though we kept insisting that it was the wrong dog, (luckily another employee came to the rescue and took the other dog back and brought us our dog). That was years ago so we took our miniature schnauzer in for a basic schnauzer cut. They called me later saying that my dog was too nervous for them to finish the groom. I told the manager that this was confusing because he doesn’t have a problem at his regular groomer. The manager told me that it was probably due to the fact that they are very busy on Fridays and their environment is particularly noisy. I found this surprising due to the fact that, while I usually have to schedule days ahead at my regular groomer, they were able to offer me more than one appointment time for a same day appointment. When I picked up my dog they applied a 20% discount due to the fact that they hadn’t finished the groom. I emailed them through Unilocal and directly asking for a list of what they had accomplished (their grooming package is a 10 item list). Days later I had still not received a response so I called them. The manager told me over the phone that only the bath portion of the groom was completed. When I asked why I was charged 80% for 30% of the services at best he told me that ear cleaning, teeth cleaning, nail filing, and gland expressing are considered free services as part of the groom. I mentioned to him that we had brought our dogs to his facility just to have their nails trimmed and paid 15 $ for the service. Overall I am very disappointed with the whole experience. Several statements that were made did not seem truthful. I will be returning to our regular groomer.

Purrs and Gurrs provided a great experience for our pet dog Barnabus when we allowed him to stay at the stores «puppy playground». Barnabus joined right in with the other puppies playing in the play area the day we dropped him off and did not look back as he joined right in. It was clear when we got home with Barnabus after his «play date» that he had indeed had a busy day as he instantly crawled to his favorite sleeping pillow and went right to sleep.
Being new to town we were very lucky to find Purrs and Gurrs so close to the Kroger grocery store we shop at for our families groceries. The staff at the store were extremely accommodating to allow us to drop Barnabus off with short notice, and did a great job of explaining there services and foods they had available for our tiny family member.
We made arrangements for Barnabus to have his first haircut the following weekend and we were extremely happy with the outcome. We loved how Barnabus looked (and smelled) with his new spiffy haircut and bandanna.
Thanks again to store employee Andrew for welcoming us to town and for taking such good care of our 4 legged son, and thanks to Gina for making Barnabus’s first haircut go so well. We will be back for sure.
