SwimWest Swim School specializes in learn to swim for children 4 months of age to adults. We teach in a warm water pool, small classes (4:1 ratio), certified instructors, with skill level progression. Every child receives a ribbon of recognition as they move through the levels. We also offer a recreational swim team for our young competitive swimmers who want to work on their flip turns, starts and get a competitive advantage with their summer teams and winter programs. We also offer birthday parties, open swim, and senior water fitness classes. SwimWest focuses on safety in and around the pool and holds an annual water safety event in May. History

Established in 1990.

SwimWest Swim School started in a hotel pool and quickly grew to our own facility in 1995. Owner, Karen Kittelson, started the swim school through a franchise called, MacTay Aquatics and in 1993 left the franchise and started SwimWest Swim School, Inc. We branched off and started a summer camp called Swim&Gym Summer Camp, LLC in 2003. In 2006 SwimWest Fitchburg was started in our leased location at 6220 Nesbitt Road. SwimWest has won many awards on its curriculum, facility design, and programs.
