Just coming off of Mardi Gras, this felt like a suburbs parade at best. A friend of mine said it looked like a «rolling billboard» to him, with all the political candidates getting their exposure in. Cheap candy was thrown by most who had throws… I would recommend they stick with non edible things, such as beads, doubloons, and the like. It was a fun addition to the day, but not worth planning your day around.
