This is a small local pizza joint in the heart of downtown Flagstaff. The interior hasn’t been updated in many years, but it’s kept the vibe that the reputation is built upon. Customer service is decent. I’m not sure why they bring out the marinara sauce in a plastic container when everything else comes with plates. Consistency is key with presentation. A little more time spent on making sure the presentation and taste of the pizza matches the price and experience. This can be a go-to spot for some, especially if you go on a night they are on their game.

To quote Unilocal«Eek! Methinks not!» Poorly staffed, long wait for service. Poor selection of food and menu options. And worst of all, bad pizza… I would NOT recommend going into the place. If you do feel so inclined to order a pizza, get it TOGO and stay away from the Mexican Pizza; I’d have to rate it just below Jack’s frozen pizza.

Alpine pizza is a charming, «rough around the edges» joint, located in the beating heart of downtown flagstaff. While the humble wooden booths are adorn in the charming Imprints if locals and travelers past, I find the mozzarella discs and the artisan brown fizzy alcohol selection to fall short. Be forewarned the occupancy of alpine is a slim 125 occupants. This fact is not published or advertised on any of alpines social media outlets, so imagine my outrage when my(WELLMANNERED) party of 126 was sent the other directions. No mozzarella disc, no matter how ooey gooey is worth the kind of rejection.

Lousy customer service! I called ahead to order a pizza and asked for four ingredients, the guy answering the phone kept asking which ingredients should go on the right side and which should go on the left side, I kept telling him I wanted the 4 ingredients in the whole pizza. They said it will be ready in 15 – 20 minutes, when I got there the same guy said that he never said that and that he had said 50 – 60 minutes instead. When we picked it up they only added three and asked them if they could just add the fourth ingredient and Put it in the oven for a couple of minutes, they handed me a package of ham(cold from the fridge) and tell me to do it myself at home… And by the way it was $ 2.50 extra! As for the taste, I rather have dominos or papa johns instead any day

When you have the option to go here or else where, go else where. Traveling through, wanted something local and tried Alpine Pizza. The only reason I gave a one star is the atmosphere, other wise its pretty bad. Not for sure if it was self service or if they had a wait staff. Slow does not even describe it. Food was just better then gas station fare. Salad was head of lettuce. Pizza was cold and plain. When we informed staff of our disappointing service they seemed annoyed.

Pizza was awesome! Totally laid back and enjoyable. Didn’t listen to the other Unilocal comments and came in anyways. A Flagstaff must!

Went here thinking that it would be a cool local place. It wasn’t anything special. From the beginning, I should have known that the smell of the place would be a sign. It smelled like a cheap bathroom air freshener. With that aside, it was an old building so I wanted to still give it a chance. Service wasn’t that great. The place was dead, yet I found myself having to go up to the counter to ask for a box since the staff was caught up in a loud convo about ‘how I met your mother’. Now for the pizza… Nothing special, there are frozen pizzas that have more taste. The breadsticks were okay, but probably because they were from a box. I love cheese, I’m from Wisconsin, but there was just way to much cheese on the ‘za. I don’t see myself going back. Disappointed!

Friendly hippies offering you relaxed and chill service/atmosphere. You have to carve your name into their wooden booths.

I used to eat here a few times when I worked for the railroad out of Williams. That was back in 2008, and sadly, it seems it has gone down the tubes since I’ve been gone. On my last swing through here in August of ’15, we ordered a pizza and an order of potato skins, and both rated as «OK» The skins seemed like they were made in the restaurant, but lacked the pizzazz they should have. Too thick? Not cooked through enough? Something in them was lacking. The pizza? Again, it was«OK» drenched in cheese that seemed to swallow the whole pizza, leaving the green chile to be small flecks of green on a sparsely pepperoni cratered moonscape. The ambiance, is still the same, «rundown» pizza parlor it was, great for people watching as tourists, locals, and transients roll past your window. Finally, the service… Ugh. We had a server who was baked… More so than the potato skins(actually, that wouldn’t be hard to accomplish). Perhaps I’ve worked for the railroad in the real world, but if you’re too stoned to the point where you’re barely functional to work pizza, you may have gone too far. I understand Alpine’s motto is «The Highest Pizza Joint in Arizona», but, I digress. For the money and value, cross the railroad tracks(safely, that means NOT crossing once the lights start flashing), to Fratelli’s(Sad emoticon here for my sadness of seeing writing up one of my favorite places this way.)

Can’t judge the food but the service was horrible. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for our 10 year old son and paid for it. Host told us it would be quick, about 10 minutes. We decided to wait in line for a game of pool & play. We inquired at 20 minutes, 30 minutes later and finally at 40 minutes later when we asked about our pizza again we got nothing but an attitude from the cashier, acting like we were bothering him. We asked for our money back so we could go else where and he could barely figure out how to refund us our money. The waitress seemed very upset & was yelling at him for«doing this again, all night.» Seems like it would have been a fun place to eat, but never got to do so. A better place to try that was delicious and had much better service is Criollo, and is less than a 2 minute walk from this restaurant.

Had dinner here while staying the night in flagstaff. Pizza was delicious — salad was good and they poured large glasses of vino. My mom remembered this place from 25 years ago when she was a student at NAU and was thrilled to see its still open! Definitely a great spot for a casual dinner

Pizza was amazing! Got the Special Deluxe, no sausage. Was delicious. The Potato Skins were a little under cooked and didn’t arrive earlier than the pizza even though they were an app, but the pizza made up for it. Staff was friendly and responsive.

I’ve loved Alpine Pizza since the ‘80s. We just stopped by again and it was good, service was good, beer was good. All at an acceptable price. The place isn’t a fancy place but no measure, but it’s always good and I love them the way they are. No I don’t know them, live in California, just love to drop in driving up, the 40 through Flagstaff.

This places serves a purpose: to grab a nice slice of cheesy, saucy pizza before a few drinks on the town. It’s dark and dingy and definitely doesn’t put forth a high-class pretense, and that’s okay. After all, I WANTED to come here to sate my pizza craving before a few drinks on the town. However… it just wasn’t good. I’m not a pizza snob at all. I just wanted a nice simple pizza. It just tasted bad, uncooked flour, weird sauce, «plastic-y» cheese(I don’t even know if that’s a word, but I can’t think of another term to describe it). This pizza isn’t the cheapest in town, and all it would take to bring this pizza to another level is slightly better ingredients(which for the price I’m paying, I expect). I wouldn’t rank this pizza above Little Caesar’s. Go to NiMarco’s before you come here. Added a star for having cheap, decent beer.

Delicious! The pizza here is SO good. We enjoyed having a late dinner here in our corner booth. The place is super cute with it’s wooden booths. Names are carved into the wood from many many years of patrons. The pizza was made with fresh ingredients and tasted very good. The service was top notch. The waitress was young, friendly, willing to take a couple pictures of us, and on top of our drinks and food order. I can’t wait to go back and have another slice of this pizza!

This pizza place has been a popular Flagstaff destination for college students since the 70’s, and it shows, because as soon as you enter, it feels as if you stepped through time, evident by the décor and the many hundreds of messages etched in the tables and the walls of the place, dating I believe as far back as the 1980’s. I went here soon after I first moved here and was pretty impressed with it. However it is also important to note that it was about 1:00 in the morning and I was also drunk at the time(those being the days when I wasn’t as mature as I am now) and in search of some cheap food to settle my tummy. That being said, I had not gone back in the years since, and I was recently given the opportunity to go here with a group of friends and we were in search of a cheap place to eat since we are poor graduate students. Would this place hold up as well as my heart as it did all those years ago when I was younger and drunker? Sadly, it didn’t. First, let me talk about the food. I got the lunch special with 2 slices of pizza with one topping and a fountain soda, which clocked at under $ 5. This in itself, makes going here worthwhile, especially if you are hungry and in need of a cheap meal. While I remembered that this was not the best pizza I have ever had, I found it more inedible compared to my memory of it. That is not to say that it was bad, it was just cheap tasting. The dough tasted like it was watered down a bit and the sauce was too herby and abundant on my slice. The cheese however, was great, and it was spread generously on the slices which also contributed to its ability to be edible. As far as the service is concerned, no complaints here. The staff I interacted with were friendly, accommodating, and seemed to have a lot of pride in the place. Overall, it was not a bad experience for a group gathering. The pizza could have been much better, however at least it is a step up from Little Caesars.

Pizza is not as good as I remember. I got delivery and it was pretty disgusting. I read another review and someone described their cheese as «plasticy»… I would say this is the perfect term ever though it’s not a real word. I would give 1 star for customer service, I don’t need to be treated like I’m a nuisance. Pizzas good but not good enough to deal with your attitude phone girl.
