Maloney’s Tavern

Well the bar is nice and big and round surrounded by TVs, like they stayed in other reviews, With dark old-​school type wood does deafly looks like a tavern /​pub, As for the food The hot wings are really good most of the food I’ve tried is always pretty been good, Happy hour starts at 4:00, And everything is half off and if it changes again at 8 o’clock to something else, I believe like another discount on a well drinks. But the service is really really slow for some reason the bartenders to stand around and talk among each instead of the paying patriots that want a second round of drinks or something to eat, You will constantly have to ask for napkins or utensils to eat with they bring the food out but not the napkins, I don’t understand why they do this, As far as the alcohol choices they do have a lot of alcohol but not a lot of top shelf stuff like such as my favorites, All the high and vodkas, They just seem not to have a variety of good stuff only the cheap liquor I guess because it’s a college town maybe that’s all they can afford, But it is a bar they should provide a better top shelf liquor for those who can afford, It just seems like I can never get the drink that I want because The lack of high-​end varieties, I have to always buy the cheap alcohol I’m not interested in the cheep. I have a finely tuned pallet I only like the best and this place does not seem to provide my choice and top shelf alcohol products. Now as for the bathroom does need a lot of work it’s really beat up and dated in there with the chipped tile graffiti and sticky tape from old posters and add a date information, It’s in bad shape but you don’t really see it till you go in there so it does not affect the status are the look of the bar area but it should be clean just like the rest the place. Now to my night out with friends, we in the late afternoon into the evening and they all knew who we were, We stated will be back we going for dinner And will be right back, So now we did come after about an hour and a half but we were not allowed back in because apparently I had gym workout The nice looking ones not to sweat looking ones are the dirty ones, these were that you know the nicer brands that people wear now days, they look pretty nice but they stated that I cannot come back, Because there was some kind of a half ass dress code, So we were not allowed back and why would they have such a dress code for a college town, A very casual town one, It’s a little bit ridiculous to have some kind a dress code when all the bartenders and staff has on shorts or blue jeans with T-​shirts what kind of dress code is that but yet the people that are coming into the bar subject to a weird dress code, It’s the total opposite of the staff very bizarre to have such a double standard, «Come on people it’s a dive bar not a five star Vegas bar», OK so anyways moving on, The Music is not current music it’s some old type, I would recommend current for the sign of the times, I guess call that top 40 or something of the bit more current, Maybe this changes in the evening but as for time I was in there it did not, later on that same night late evening, I do see the disco lights and flashing colored lights so it does look like a good time but I’ve never stayed for the dancing when they clear floor on the upper level to make room for all the dancing, Now for the people standing directly outside the door and smoking so all the smoke rolls back into the bar/​restaurant not very comfortable if you don’t like the smell of smoke, They do need to work on a few things such as that but other than that, The bartenders are nice and respectful, But they just need to work on the speed and the service and quit talking among themselves and pay more attention to the paying customers but don’t let me stop you from having a good time from this review., Go check it out and I’m sure you have a good time this is located on across the street Aspen that would be directly across the street from the Waterford Hotel and monsoons.

I came in here on a Friday evening with my wife. We had just eaten dinner and wanted to get a few cocktails before going him. I’d like to start off by saying that our service was by far some of the best I have ever received! We were sitting at the bar and were served right away and our drinks were delicious. My wife wanted something tasty and our bartender Eric made her such a delicious drink! Great atmosphere, love all the books, (very cool decorations) and excellent service from Eric!!! I would definitely recommend this place!!!

$ 3 wells on a Saturday night, are you kidding me? don’t mind if we do! Love this joint, we come every chance we can in Flagstaff. Wait staff is friendly and fun, drinks are done correctly, and it has a fun college town divey vibe.

Once upon a time, 3 crazy friends decided to take a random road trip to Flagstaff on a Wednesday night. They ended up at Maloneys, where they were greeted with a nice warm building that was like a hug from your mom, and it was super clean. A gentleman named ERIC was behind the bar serving up cocktails and dreams all night long. He knew all the hot spots, and never let their drinks run low, which made the friends stay there the majority of their visit in Flagstaff. Thanks Maloneys and Eric for making their visit amazing!

Found a piece of broken glass at the bottom of my beer. Told the manager&he did absolutely nothing. No discount on my drink, didn’t take care of my drink. So that’s why I’m giving this establishment a 1 star.

My husband I love this bar! I don’t know why the picture to represent it is a waitress doing a body shot, that’s not what it’s like when we go there… It’s a comfortable relaxed place to have a drink and watch TV. If the game we want isn’t on the TV near us they’re happy to change the station. The servers are nice and prompt to bring food and drinks. The giant mugs of beer are AWESOME and during happy hour the price can’t be beat. We live in Phoenix and every time we come to flagstaff we drink here.

We’ve been been coming to this bar for years now. Every time we come here, the service is great, they have a wide variety of micro brews, and the wings are in point. Also, their happy hour runs longer than any I have ever heard of, which means cheap quality beer and food. If you are a movie fan, the wall décor will especially strike your fancy. If you find yourself in downtown flagstaff, and all the other bars aren’t doing happy hour yet, or they just finished, stop in for a 32 ounce draft and a pound of wings, because it seems like happy hour is always in effect at this bar.

Guess I see why this is a two and a half star place. Couldn’t get the bartender to look at me let alone take my order. I didn’t notice, but my wife said the people that were there next to us were complaining about the service as they were leaving. No big, we went down the street to Majerles. Service seems on point there so far.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This place smells like a toilet. Your body shot girls have herpes sores. Gag.

I like this place bartenders are nice and friendly. The only thing is that I wish it was cleaner near the bar because their was a sticky spill behind my seat. The bathroom could use a mop because it smelled in there as well.

The beer comes in a nice big cold mug and the wings were pretty good. But the service was really slow and the soda was completely flat. We were there to watch the Cardinals game but of the four TVs in the area they only had it on one and it was at the far end. There was barely anyone there and they wouldn’t switch the TVs. The only reason we were there is because Collins was packed.

The bathroom smells better than the bar. I’m am disappointed that a bar that attracts a ton of college kids would smell like a sewage treatment plant! The kids deserve better.

Came here with a friend on a Friday night. It was su, Ed time right before the NAU students were all fully moved but I would say that we had a good time. Malony’s are all build the same. The feel of a dark old time bar with a library feel. Nice big bar in the middle and TVs all around. After a few mins they usually play a clip from a cult classic movie. Makes just staring at TV sports with no sound actually more fun!
Only stayed for a little. It but our service was excellent and we had a great bartender that was quick and prompt on our drinks. If I was living In Flagstaff I would be here more often. Cool place.

This use to be my home away from home but don’t come here to often anymore. Great college bar and nice selection of beers and the food is decent. Great place for Saint Patrick’s day. Decent food.

My wife and I were in town to visit our son at NAU. We went to Maloney’s and had a blast. We didn’t sit at the bar, so I’m not sure how the bar tenders were doing, but our cocktail server (Kenzie) was spot on. She rocks that bar and her whole section. Always with a smile and always moving. We went back the next night just to see her and once again we had a blast. We went to a few other places downtown, but always returned to Maloney’s and Kenzie. Two thumbs up.

Great happy hour from 5 – 9. After 9 place turns into a nightclub. Lots of TVs showing the games. Food is okay typical

Couldn’t believe how we just stumbled into this place. After driving for hours needed a place to unwind. Relaxed, friendly, and wonderful fresh food! And great draft ale selections!
Classy atmosphere, good menu and a great place for any group or couple. TV ‘s all over, great play list on the sound system. Will find my way back next time I’m in town.

I’m under the firm belief that a visit to Maloney’s is only enjoyable later in the night, after a few drinks, when you don’t care about good customer service, what your drink tastes like, and all you want to do is dance to some crappy hip hop, which to be fair… has its time and place.
It’s often so loud that even if you ordered a drink, chances are, you’re not gonna get what you ordered, because they didn’t hear you. They often have some pretty cheap drink specials, taste buds willing. They finally got rid of the sticky carpet… so they have that going for them.

It was one of my favorite bars at another time, and they still make a great Old Fashioned! However this time around, it wasn’t as good. Part of it was how loud it was because even to my deaf ears the music was loud, and that is saying something! Maybe its because it was commencement weekend, or maybe its just changed in the last 6 months that I have been here. I will give it 3 stars for the old fashioned and for the ladies there, since they know how to have a good time. I might go here again, but next time it might not be on the top of my to go list, unless I desire the company of ladies and a good old fashioned.
