I can’t believe the complaints and the rating here. We had a great young chef who kept us entertained the whole time. Wait time for a table was about 10 minutes but we don’t mind. Good sushi, good teppanyaki. I don’t remember the chefs name but he was a young, tall built guy and he was phenomenal.

Located inside the Doubletree by Hilton hotel, The Sakura Teppanyaki You might want to go eat somewhere else should be avoided at all cost less you have time to people being late, your party must all be there at the same time if you’re a small party they will not start the food and tell the table is filled that means you have to wait on additional people to fill the table they give them 10 minutes weather supposed to give them 10 minutes we waited there over 10 minutes and then they said that somebody is going to be joining us so we waited a little bit, so some other people decided to join us which they were already late so therefore if you’re there on time you have to wait for the other people being late which makes everybody late it’s totally unfair that you have to cater to the people that are being late and the manager doesn’t even care about it I asked to speak to the manager she wasn’t willing to fix it she just apologized but that doesn’t do me any good if I’m on a time schedule for dinner they will not cater to the customer that is on time the only cater to the customer that will be late it’s ridiculous it is bad customer service go somewhere that has will provide better services, when I was talking to the manager she was not willing to get my food ready I only wanted an appetizer she would not get it until everybody was at the table and Dot party was not even with us it was some strangers they had to sit with us that’s totally not cool to cater to the late party I would never ever go to this place again ever, I was so aggravated I had to get up and walk out. Forgot to mention one last thing I don’t know if the ventilation as in the hood exhaust above the fryers are turned on or not the place is extremely smoky it smells of fry food everywhere and you would leave the restaurant smelling like fried food so don’t go somewhere like a wedding or a party, but if you don’t mind that odor on your clothes your hair and your skin then by all means it’s totally fine but myself people smell it on me and mentioned it to me hey you smell like fried food where you been so if you don’t mind that by all means it’s OK but for me it’s not also the restaurant lax some serious upgrades it is a bit war and dated it does need an update.

One of our daughters attends NAU in Flag. We eat here each time we are in town. Lot of fun and really good food, I like the beef tenderloin and scallops.

Ate there last night. Start with prices! Wow too high for food delivered. The soup was chicken boulion with sprouts couple mushrooms and maybe some egg at the bottom? Salad straight from a bag, not even cut bite-size freindly. Dressing choices werent even available. Service was rushed, like cafeteria style. Seating was cramped. The entrée was good. The steak tender and tasty. Scallops a little gritty and strong taste. The chef was fun, pleasant and entertaining. All in all the place too expensive for quality of food delivered.

Terrible hostess. Walked in, literally 10 people in the entire place and she wouldn’t seat us. Told us we had to wait a hour to be seated for teppanyaki. 4 open grills with not a single person at them. Extremely disappointed since we were from out of town. If you only seat by reservation then you should say that somewhere not allow people to waste their time driving over to try you. Extremely disappointing.

Great place for a date, the chefs are amazing, the food is delicious, great service, very entertaining, excellent show, tons of food for the price, not much of a waiting time.

This was in the same hotel we stayed at in Flagstaff. Every other restaurant in Flagstaff was busy and had 30 minute waits so we decided to walk down from the room to the restaurant. This one was busy too but we got seated in 10 minutes… we opted for sushi and had quick service too… this place is for hibachi too and all of that was very entertaining in the background.

1st time here Grill _not so clean They put us in the same table with someone else without even asking us. The food not eaven close to a real hibachi grill(the sos and the steamed rice came when the cook start cleaning the grill) [without sos they can atlest use some seasonings) I was going for 2* they got 1 more for location.

Another great visit. Always good and big portions. Flavors are good. I wish they could clean the floor and the chairs a little better, but it’s not enough to run us off.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this place. Xavier was our server. He is really friendly and attentive. He checked up on our table regularly. This place has a nice selection of sushi and hand rolls. I enjoyed my spicy scallop hand roll. Miso soup is free. I’m glad to have stopped in and tried it.

Great sushi in Flagstaff? Who knew?! Great food, creative new sushi rolls, and spot-on service. Our waiter Xavier treated us like VIPs. One of the best seaweed salads I’ve had anywhere. They also do Teppan Yaki here, Benihana-style, which I got to observe from my table. The chef puts on quite a show. The restaurant is attached to the Hilton Doubletree, so you don’t have to even leave the building if you are staying here. It’s nice not having to drive anywhere if you’ve been driving all day.

Food was great ! The service I felt was lacking. The waiter was really nice but took 34 mins to get a drink and put in order was about 42 mins. Sushi was very small and over priced. The Teppan-Yaki table food was very good ! Pretty big portions . If you are in a rush and hungry — don’t suggest it. Half our table were traveling all day and very hungry and tired.

My sister and I sent to Sakura Sushi & Teppanyaki for my birthday and what a birthday it turned out to me. We were seated at one of the teppanyaki tables and the excellent service began immediately. But, we were in for a real treat when Chef Antonio came out. From the moment he started bringing his equipment out we knew we were in for a treat! Chef Antonio was very congenial, talking and joking with us while never losing his professionalism. Our meal was, of course, prepared with the appropriate amount of panache and flourish. The food was outstanding and the wine, although a «house» wine, was great. We cannot say enough about out first, but definitely not our last, experience here, and we shall ask for Chef Antonio every time we go in!

I am always apprehensive about dining teppanyaki, ever since that time at IchiBan. You see, dear reader, I have a shellfish allergy. No, I didnt say I was selfish… looks like someone needs glasses So, any employee who made eye contact with me, was informed, in no uncertain terms, that I indeed had a shellfish allergy. Imagine my relief when the performer came out and addressed each person at the table, identifying me as the«anaphylactic shock man»… yes I am! He was cool, and cooked my foods first, before cooking up the shrimp and mussels. There was much production and fanfare. I got to sit next to an old lady! Kinda wish I tried the sushi Check in with Unilocal, and get $ 5 off your tab! Yes! Go ahead, now you can order that more expensive entrée! Yes, the one that is $ 5 more than you were willing to pay in the first place.

Great Teppanyaki in Flagstaff. I highly recommend reservations since we went on friday night and had to make a reservation for saturday(so many people). It is attached to a hotel but you cannot even tell once in the restaurant. Everything is moderately priced(It is amazing and well worth it). The staff was helpful and friendly! I plan to go back when visiting Flagstaff.

I have never been here before. I work across the street and with a group, we ventured over. My best friend really pushed me to try the sushi(never had ANY sushi before), so she selected the Tuna one. I was told to try it Wasabi. Last thing I associated Wasabi with is Steve-O«Wasabi Snorter» on Jackass, so I was hesitant. But I did it! Our Teppanyaki chef was very entertaining. He flipped veggies, flipped rice bowls and cracked jokes. He was super efficient, and clearly experienced. I kept it simple and ordered a chicken dish. So delicious! The prices were a little steep, but with the Unilocal coupon, I found it reasonable. I will be returning in the near future and quite possibly make this a local haunt of mine!

I had a wonderful meal by a great group of people. Renata, my waitress made sure all of my needs were taken care of. Kolter, the sushi chef made delicious sushi rolls presented beautifully. Finally the supervisor Rigo was always greeting customers and making sure our eating experience was nothing short of great. Loved it, and will be back soon!

Went out for Monday dinner with a girlfriend and decided to get sushi! We had great service, the food was awesome, and I will definitely be taking my boyfriend here soon. The only thing I wish is that they maybe could have a full menu describing each sushi roll. *We were sat and gave a piece of paper where we wrote our order down but it doesn’t let me know what specific ingredients are in the roll* Definitely would stay at the DoubleTree as well!

We really love this place and have gone many times when in flagstaff… The service is excellent, and the teppanyaki chefs are really fun and funny, they interact with the table quite a bit. It’s great for both kids and adults, and they’ve always been happy to accommodate every group size we’ve had from 2 to 12. The prices are a little high compared to other more casual restaurants, but no more so than your average teppanyaki place. We have always just walked in before and been able to get a table without a reservation, but I guess they must be getting really popular, because it was about an hour wait without a reservation this past weekend. But, good for them, obviously the food is good enough to keep folks coming back :-)

I really like this place! While it’s located in a hotel, locals still come here! the sushi and teppanyki are both stars. Check out the volcano roll or any of the specials of the day. I had a cucumber /octopus salad which was really good. The fish is really fresh even though we are no where near an ocean. The sushi chef was really nice too! And now on to the grill… we’ve had Antonio both times– he is awesome. It’s a show and a delicious dinner all in one. You can choose your seasonings on your meats, we enjoyed chicken, shrimp and scallops in teriyaki and spicy garlic. It is served with grilled mushrooms, zucchini and onions along with bean sprouts. You have the choice of steamed or fried rice, which is not as healthy but it tastes better ;) To start you are aLso served a side salad and small soup. It is surely too much food, but it’s so good.
