This place was very confusing upon arrival, thought from the looks of it you get seated and have a waiter but instead you’re greeted by a large menu on the wall with a short line, I get nervous when you feel a line forming while looking at a menu, It made for a quick decision. The menu had a lot to offer, prices were okay but I felt like I had no time to decide and with a large menu you’d want to take your time. Anyways, after ordering and paying we then had to sit ourselves. We were then confused if they bring the food to the table or if we are called and go up and grab it. One person at our tables food came out 15 minutes before mine and then 20 minutes after mine came the next person at our tables food came. so we were all off with food timing me and my friend finished ours before the last persons even got their, of course we teased our friend about it but its not good service lol. The table by us were waiting a solid 40 minutes before getting their food and its not like the place was overly busy. They just didnt seem to care about the service. It’s crazy how often I drove past here thinking«I gotta try that place» and now that I have, I feel let down. It’s very confusing in there so if you manage to figure out what to do maybe you’ll like it.

It is exactly what you’d expect upon entering: a hole-in-the-wall local joint. But that’s not a bad thing! The bar-style food is consistently good. Burgers, chicken fingers, fries, sandwiches, etc. and they have good ice cream too. It’s a nice local spot to have and drop in every so often.

I’ve been here a few times, about ten minutes away from my job so I come here during lunch break sometimes. I’ve only gotten the rib eye sandwich and fries. The first two times I came here, it was really good. Nothing fancy but it was still delicious. The past few times I’ve been back though, it really has been a hit or miss. Sometimes you can just tell the rib eye has been sitting there for a bit. Like today, I went in and as soon as my food was brought over, the rib eye had a weird smell. Tried to eat as much of it as I could but wasn’t able to finish the whole thing. Never tried anything else here so really can’t say much about the place. Hoping to come back when the weather is nicer to try the ice cream though. Oh also, cash only. ATM is available if needed.

Nice little local place. Varied menu. Food is pretty good. Similar to your typical diner. Separate counter for all of your ice cream needs! I enjoy breakfast here the most i think.

Went out for a late breakfast combined with dinner type deal with my partner the other night and we live right up the road but had never stopped in. The giant pancakes and omlettes sign out front drew us in. You walk in there’s a bunch of delicious looking ice creams. Continue forward to place your order at the counter and we were greeted by smiling faces that were ready to take our order. We covered all of our bases because we hadn’t eaten all day and split everything. A cheese burger, corned beef hash, and bacon egg and cheese with two large drinks all came out to around 20 bucks and was absolutely delish! If you’re looking for something simple, cheap, and yummy check this place out!

Good food, I have ate here multiple times. It’s too bad they don’t accept credit cards, would probably eat here more if they did.

Finally stopped in here after years of drive bys. Always wanted to because of the fact that the name included«Char-Broil.» Makes you think of smokey burgers cooked over a big charm glow, grill marks, etc. Well if that’s what you were fantasizing about, keep on heading down the road. What we got: A cheeseburger special(Comes with fries and cole slaw) Cheeseburger bland hocky puck(your standard freezer to flat top burger) undercooked fries, but the homemade coleslaw was good. An Italian Hot Dog — It was OK, home fries could’ve been a little crispier, two decent pork based hot dogs(unfortunately shorter than the bun, so I ran out of dog before I finished the sandwich) they too could’ve been crispier. A Side of Onion Rings — Decent, a little soggy, less enjoyable the colder they got. But that’s onion rings for you, right? Two sodas. All this was just under $ 25 with tax. I don’t know, when you fantasize about a place, and it doesn’t meet those probably unreasonable expectations, well of course you’re disappointed. But if a restaurant features the words«Char Broil,» in their title, I’d like to see some grill marks.

Thirty years ago my parents moved to Flanders. The After was practically the only restaurant in town back then, and it was the kind of «townie» place I loved instantly. Sure it’s a little funky around the edges but it’s more of a «this place has history» thing than a «yuuuuuuck». I still stop in now and then when I’m in the area for the memories and a nice greasy meal of the sort that made America great once [;-)], and it’s always a great time.

The The court might be a little old but it sure makes up for its amazing food! who would ever go to the nearby McDonald’s in a place like this is right down the street

The most delicious homemade ice cream in the area. I always get cookies and cream and am never disappointed. The only thing is that it is cash only so have money handy!

The food is simple: burgers/fries, sandwiches, chicken wings, and of course ice cream. The service is nice and pretty quick too. I love the atmosphere, its really casual, friendly, and a tad«old timey». They have the classic red ketchup squirtbottles and tables to eat outside. The fries are great — get a rootbeer float!

Decent food, a bit pricey for the atmosphere. Could really use a up date inside. But usually what I get is decent

The After… after the movies, after a ball game, after church… it’s a great little local place to go to anytime, really! The variety is abundant and the prices are OK. They only take cash, but there’s an ATM on site. The ice cream is very good too. I love the apps… corn fritters, fried pickles, popcorn chicken… all very good. Their fried chicken is also good. Aside from the menu being primarily ala carte, I wish they had more combo meal selections at reasonable prices that include fries/onion rings/soda/ice cream, etc.

I had: Italian hot dog: Maybe a 6.5 on the 10 scale Onion rings: 7.25 Wife: Tuna sandwich: Loved it. Very busy on this early Spring Saturday. Bit warm inside for my comfort, but we will definitely go back next time we’re in the area. Outdoor seating, lots of menu options, and ice cream. I thought the prices were quite good. Read the other reviews for other details. I’m still bloated from lunch. Cash only.

I have passed this place like 50 times over the years and always wanted to try it. Well, this past week I did. From the outside, you might be expecting a upscale, modern place, as I somehow did. But alas, After looks like a well worn diner inside, with a modest interior and a diner sized selection of items. Being the cheapie I am, I ordered the soup and sandwich special for $ 5.95.I got half a really good tuna sandwich on toasted whole wheat, and a modest bowl of decent pasta fagoli. The gal behind the counter(no waitresses here), maintained her rather dour expression throughout the ordering process. After you place your order, they give you a card with a number on it, that they call out when your order is ready. The cards were made by cutting out small pieces of chipboard and hand writing the numbers on them. And I thought i was a tight wad! I did notice that some patrons had their food brought over to them, by the order taker crew. Maybe they do this for the regulars, or for people who have tipped them. My rule is that if you don’t bring out my food to me, and don’t clear the table for me, then you are not getting a tip from me either. On the way out I got a small dish of pretty good soft ice cream. At $ 3 plus, I thought it was overpriced. Now that the ice has been broken, I will most def return here as it’s a very good deal for the money. Plus, I can’t wait to see those handwritten number cards again.

A cash only dive spot that seems like its been around forever and locals are the ones keeping them in business. I love some dives, this is ok… I had a cheese burger but it reminded me of the hamburger meat from school with that weird texture to it. So my guess its frozen patty’s with the meat filler in them… Which is gross, but what do you expect for $ 2.95 for a burger. I can totally see this place being the perfect place to goto after drinking. The one thing I do give them is they were nice and helpful, the fries were really good. I would go back to try other things but I usually do not eat junk food but the once in a while that I am passing through, I will try them out. This review can easily go up to 4 stars, they are getting 3 b/c of the hamburger meat being funky.

I really like this place. Nice homey feel. Definitely a place for the locals with people who have been coming here and ordering the same thing for years. The menu is pretty basic nothing really special. The ice cream is good too with some unique flavors. It can be pretty awkward for first timers. So some tips would be. Order first. Take a seat and you pay when your food is ready. This place is cash only. But there is an atm on the premises.
