Great food, good service. Only complaint was the coffee was week and almost tea like. Don’t let the coffee stop you. I drink coffee all day long .

Horrible. I got a groupon and won’t even go back to use it. Hummus was so garlicky it burnt my tongue. Chicken was tasty and moist, greasy rice, over cooked veggies. Pita bread dry, very dry. lentil soup was ok… ordered a house salad. Very disappointed. Iceberg lettuce and Italian dressing. Really? Asked for Dry crackers for an upset stomach, stale and bad tasting. The place is old and not very cheery. Will not go back, even for free.

I had heard that the food was good and the cost was reasonable. I go there with the wife It was kind of different when we walked in didn’t see any employees. We did see some guy sitting at a table across from what looked like the kitchen area. They have a bell on the door so it makes noise when the door is opened. So we stood there a few minutes and nobody ever came out to see or greet us. My wife said hello in a louder than normal voice the guy that was playing on his phone told the kitchen that someone was here but by this time there was no way I wanted even take a chance on this place. Nobody at all eating the food at 6PM I mean not 1 person so I decided we would go eat somewhere else. I wonder if this place is here for another reason instead of serving food. I don’t know but I will not be going back.

I cannot fathom how this place gets so many good reviews. I have looked forward to trying it so took the plunge and got a groupon. Went yesterday for my birthday and we wont ever go back. My boyfriend got the club sandwich and it was the tiniest portion I have ever seen. Doesn’t come with fries or any sides. I got the lamb kabobs and honestly it tasted more like beef than lamb(I do know and love good lamb). The hummus was ok but nothing grand, and the pita it came with was very flat and flavorless. Our waiter never came back to check on us or refill drinks. I had left my groupon up on my phone while I went to the ladies room. Came back and he was saying it had already been redeemed. My boyfriend said the waiter had picked it up and hit the back arrow and somehow it showed it as then redeemed. I explained that I had left it up and open and only purchased it 2 days prior. He said he would go ahead and take it off the bill for us. I felt rather accused that we were trying to pull something over on him. I love trying new places and I really do love leaving good reviews. I wish this had been a good experience but it just wasn’t.

My first time eating at Bashar’s and it wasn’t disappointing. Best kibbeh I have had at a restaurant. Had to order take home. Lamb was wonderfully seasoned. Will return

My girlfriend and I went there today and I must say that this place has great food and the staff is as friendly as they can be. The gentlemen who waited on us was very helpful and so very helpful, I can’t say enough good things about Bashars. We will definitely go back.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sat. around 5pm to have dinner. Surprisingly, the place was empty! Not a soul there. We were quickly sat by a pleasant hostess and server. We placed our drink orders and meal orders. Service was perfect. We ordered: –Stuffed Grape leaves –Hummous –Fattoush Salad w/Chicken –Pirogues Food came promptly as ordered. The hummous portion was large and tasty; however, the pita bread given with it was dry and stale. Garlic sauce is VERY strong and has a bite. Fattoush salad size is somewhat small. Stuffed grape leaves were also small in size, and were just so-so in taste. Chicken on the salad was EXCELLENT. Very juicy and well-seasoned. My husband seemed to like the pirogues, but didn’t act like they were anything special. Will go back, but am interested to re-try their items and see if freshness and taste/portions improve.

First time visit. Excellent chicken swarmas and hummus. Additionally, the waitress was very good and prices were very reasonable. I will definitely visit again.

My first time eating here was a terrible mistake that won’t be repeated! Normally, I love humous, but theirs cant be classified a that, it was coarse, overly garlicky, and otherwise unedible! I know middle-eastern food, an theirs was the worst I’ve EVER had! The falafel most likely came pre-packaged from the freezer, tasted like burnt cardboard, the chicken was dry and probably reheated, the fattoush was lettuce and burnt pita bread with lots of oil and seasoning. This place is plain disgusting, don’t waste your time or your money, you’re better off eating at the Taco Bell next door!

I love this restaurant! I can’t figure out why it isn’t busier, while across the street there are tons of people at the gross Big Boy! We love the Chicken Shawarma, hummus, garlic sauce and salad. I often order out. Very friendly and quick. Great for parties. I love having the variety in Flat Rock. I mean really? How many coney island type restaurants can one city have?

Broke down and had carry out from here again… their«hummus» is HORRIBLE. I can buy better hummus from the grocery store. Their version of hummus is so bizarre, it is not at all like any other hummus I’ve had at any middle eastern restaurant or store in Dearborn, and that is NOT a compliment. We ordered the chicken gallabha, the rice was greasy, the chicken was dried out, and worst of all, it was literally coated with dry spices(zataar I guess), which do not help the flavor at all. This dish is supposed to have a variety of vegetables, that is not what I received. There were maybe two potato chunks, the rest was mainly onions and tomatoes. I guess that passes for a variety of veggies to the chef. The«fatoosh» salad was so wilted and nasty, I can’t believe they charge extra for this salad. It looked like it had been prepped and sitting in the carryout box for a couple of days. The garlic sauce is as bad as their hommous, again, I can buy better at the Arabic market in Dearborn. What is really weird is that they serve this nasty sauce as a side dish, like you’re ordering a side of hummus. If you make the mistake of asking for a side of it, you will get a huge styrofoam box with enough garlic sauce for the neighborhood. This place is horrible, I was only reminded they exist because of the group on email. Please, do not even try. Their version of hummus is the weirdest hummus I’ve ever had… and not in a good way. If anyone in Flat Rock is looking for good Middle Eastern food, you’ll have to drive all the way to Dearborn. This food is crap. I don’t know how anyone can give this place a good review, I am convinced the positive reviews are either phony or from people who have never eaten authentic Lebanese /Middle Eastern cuisine before. There IS a huge difference. I’m also amazed that this restaurant is still in business, I never see more than one or two cars in the lot, and any time we have actually eaten at the restaurant, we are the only table.

Horrible. I got a groupon and won’t even go back to use it. Hummus was so garlicky it burnt my tongue. Dry meat, greasy rice, lentil soup was ok… service was HORRIBLE. We were the only table in the place and service wad slow AND inattentive.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and each time, I am extremely satisfied with the food. I find myself craving their chicken shwarma sandwiches regularly. They very neatly package carryout orders and even when you dine in they make the food look beautiful, specifically the meat hummus. The restaurant is always empty when I dine in, but I like that because you dont typically have to wait very long for service or for food. There was one time I recall having a male server who was not very tentative to us, but the food hit the spot so we didn’t mind leaving him a mediocre tip for mediocre service.

The wife and I decided to drive here for lunch on a Sunday. We had a Groupon, and our waitress was still very nice and attentive. It could’ve been because for the first 20 minutes we were the only people in the restaurant, but I digress. The hummus we started with was 3 out of 5 stars. Not bad, but not spectacular. They have the basic pita bread in a bag, again, not bad, but the fresh bread at Beirut Gardens blows it away. That being said, my wide ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and I got the chicken shawarma/kefta special called Tareq’s special. Kefta and shawarma were both well seasoned and served with a really, really good fattoush salad. The garlic sauce here was also really, really good. Overall a pretty good dining experience. I would go there again.

I gotta say, when I got to this place I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. It looks like the building used to be a Denny’s. This place serves beer, mixed drinks, Mike’s Hard, wine, etc. To my surprise, the food was quite tasty. We had the hummus with chicken as an appetizer, and got a «medium» size side of garlic sauce. The portion was HUGE. It was the size of a dinner plate! Considering that was a medium, the large must be massive! I had the falafel sandwich and my husband had a schwarma sandwich for our meal, and I got a side of almond rice. Everything was great– the best part is, it looks like they put the sandwiches in a panini press– so the pita was nice and crispy! The only downside is that their pita for hummus is the flat pita in a plastic bag, whereas I prefer the hot fluffy pita, but the food was so tasty, I might overlook that and make another visit.
