Nice selection of cycling bikes and gear, but overpriced. The service was just alright, not as good as I would have liked for the prices. They were a little helpful, but not extremely. It seems more like a bike shop that caters to professional cyclists, not just enthusiasts or interested amateurs. Be it a bike that Greg LeMond would envy or a simple water bottle designed for cyclists, they have it.
I’ve been interested in Trek bikes and cycling for many years now. I started getting into the Tour De France several years back and got interested in cycling as a hobby. This shop seemed like the best bet to scratch that itch. I thought I would be more impressed than I was. I came away slightly disappointed. The selection is nice, but the service was just underwhelming. This is the type of shop that you would think would be all about great service. It was not. I guess that I was expecting too much because I left a little unenthusiastic about the service, but giddy about the bikes they have.
It’s a decent shop, but I think they might be doing themselves no favors by pricing themselves too high. The market for high end bike shops around here is not that big, let’s be honest.
I think if you are a professional rider and know exactly what you want, then this store is ideal. If you are anything below that level, you’re better off shopping somewhere else, less high end and specialized. This is a shop for pro cyclists, not for the amateur. That’s how I felt about the experience.
Another thing– this shop lacks visibility from the road. A more prominent sign or something is needed. The entire building is hard to spot even if you’re looking for it and difficult to see from such a busy road even if you are looking for it. It sits too far back from the road for anyone to see it well. I bypassed it more than once looking for it.
I still want a Trek bike, but I don’t know that I would buy one here. We’ll see. I’m still salivating over those Trek bikes, though.
