Part of the city’s cultural center. It’s run in tandem with the larger Flint Institute of Music. FSPA trains young dancers, musicians and actors. As a non-profit, they hold several benefits, the most well known probably being their popular Seeing Stars Benefit each winter. We get students from here that perform often in various productions at Flint Youth Theatre and Whiting Auditorium. Very quality performances. It shows in their level of professionalism. These kids are amazing. They are literally stars in the making. It’s always a thrill to see them onstage. Many of them are regulars every season in the Whiting’s production of The Nutcracker. They always look like they are having a blast, too. The FSPA’s contributions to the cultural center and the Whiting’s productions have been immeasurable. You can’t put a value on it. A good thing, indeed, for this town.
