We went here a couple of weeks ago for dinner with another couple. The fresh pita bread made in the oven that is on the premises is always fresh, warm and tasty. It’s accompanied by a garlic spread called labne that is wonderful. We ordered the mixed grill for two with rice and a fatoosh salad. Hummus, and Baba ganoosh and tabbouli were part of the appetizers. The main platter included the rice, grape leaves, grilled vegetables, shish tawook, shawarma, shish keftah, and some shredded beef. I requested some turnip pickles as well. The food is fresh and well prepared. The salad was well dressed and really green which I love. The meat was cooked but not overly so. Our friends also enjoyed their entrees. The bathrooms need a little updating and cleaning. The food is the best middle eastern in this part of the county. We would definitely return.

Not a lot good about this place. The good: the bread and garlic dip. The service was OK too. The bad: the bathrooms were gross, toilets didn’t flush. They were out of simple things like strawberries for smoothies, limes and Sprite The place was shabby in general. The Chicken Shawarma had good taste but it was cold. I have a feeling this place is on its last leg.

I usually enjoy this place. Food taste can be inconsistent at times, though it is usually good. Portions are good, and the bread and garlic paste is amazing. Food is too condimented for my taste but I like very little.

Sad. Some of the food had potential, but then again I was hungry as hell. Shish arrived as beef instead of lamb, appetizer tray gave a miss in the babaganush, and the bathrooms were filthy. Beef was very tasty but dinner was paltry in terms of size, especially considering the $ 16 tag. Waiter was a bit of a gloomy woman and owner was emotionless despite us being 25% of his customer base at 6:00 in the evening. Go elsewhere

Never again! I enjoyed this place fairly regularly until I finally got sick of the absolutely awful servers. The food is fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but some of the times I’ve been there I felt as though there was nothing the waiters and waitresses could care less about than their customers. Waiting 20 minutes after finishing eating was a typical waiting period for the check to come. I swore this place off a few months ago, but decided to try a little forgiveness today for lunch. I should have known better. I walked in and waited almost five minutes to be greeted. Nobody was at the counter by the front door. The girl who eventually came to seat me had just been at the bar watching television. What was on television, you ask? ANANIMALBEINGSKINNED. Seriously? During meal service you have someone peeling back the skin of a dead animal? Unfathomable. Next, I was informed they didn’t have lentil soup, something they had NEVER been out of the dozens of times I’d been there. Okay, I said, what are my salad options? The server lists some, and I decide on tabouli. Good enough. My food comes out, everything is right, and everything is delicious. This is what kills me — great food! It’s hard to stay away. Well, to nobody’s surprise, nobody comes to check on me after I’m done eating. I go up to the counter to pay for my meal so I can get back to work, and I see that I was charged $ 1.50 extra for the tabouli. «She probably should have f***ing told me that,» I said, in a moment maybe a little too raw for public. I didn’t want to put up a fight about it, though. I paid and I left. If they don’t want me there(and they clearly don’t) then they won’t see me there. I’m done.

I have to say that coming from Houston and experiencing some of the best cuisine I have had in my life aside from Europe, this place did a incredible job with the Greek salad. It was better than my experience in Greek town and the lamb chops were very good and I typically shy away ftom lamb. The reason for 3 stars was the chicken Shwarma. This is a personal favorite of mine and it missed the mark by a long shot. I mean not even close! Staff was very friendly and accommodating and replaced my dinner without hesitation. Fresh baked bread and garlic dip was VERY good. Overall I would come back.

Normally I would give this restaurant a much better rating but a recent visit has me questioning if I will come back. I came here for a meal with family recently, as I have many times. The servers were not as friendly as I remember them normally being. The restaurant seemed not very well cleaned either. The bread was very good as usual, but the hommous seemed watered down. I ordered the lamb kebabs, cooked medium well. The lamb was almost raw on the inside, and given that I am pregnant that is a big issue. I sent it back to be cooked more, and when it was brought back some of it was burnt and some of it was still raw. Very unsatisfied. The booth I was sitting in also had an unpleasant odor, while I was sitting there I kept smelling it which is obviously not something you want when you are eating. To top it off, when I went to use the bathroom, it smelled like raw sewage. The drain in the floor was full of something, and the smell was bad enough to induce gagging. Also there were dirty cleaning implements on the floor behind the toilet, as well as a plunger with obvious fecal material on it. If the bathrooms are that dirty, I don’t even want to know what the kitchen looks like! Like I said, I’ve eaten here many times in the past and it was always satisfactory. Perhaps there is new management? Very disappointed they are not keeping with their normal standards…

Not fresh food! I went to Taboon Linden Rd and ordered chicken shawarma plate. When the waitress brought the order to the table, the chicken shawarma was cold and taste like overnight. This particular location is terrible because I went there three times and wasn’t satisfying.

Must have — the pita and garlic dip is amazing! Also good is the shish kafta. My second time I ordered Hommous with Shawarma — it was very good, but wasn’t really my cup of tea. Contrary to many of the reviews, service was excellent!

The reason I gave this restaurant 5 stars is because the quality and taste of the food is phenomenal. The service on the other hand, is awful. They are very unorganized, inattentive, and rushed because of the lack of efficient time management.

When in Flint eat Lebanese food. That was my goal for our weekend trip. Being half Lebanese and there not being many Leb restaurants in Toronto I chose Taboon as a place to go and I’m glad I did. My husband ordered the baked kibbee with laban and fatoush salad. I had the lamb shish kebab, taboulli, and rice. The salads arrived, big and fresh, they looked and tasted great. Fresh, hot pita and the best garlic dip that I could have eaten all day. The entrees were really good, my husband described the kibbee as fluffier than mine. I really liked it, no pine nuts but that’s understandable considering the price of those things. My lamb was medium rare just as I ordered, the rice fresh and light, buttery with vermicelli. Very flavorful food, large portions and that homey Lebanese taste that is hard to achieve unless it’s made with love and care, which it was. Service was relaxed and very good. Will definitely be back.

Good decent Lebanese style food. Great fresh baked pita bread cooked in a wood burning oven. They even give you a bag to take home with you. The garlic spread is so loaded with garlic that you have to sleep on the couch after you eat it. The stuffed grape leaves were bordering on nasty, and were barely edible. Every region of the Middle East makes them differently, but I have never tasted grapes like these before. Besides the somewhat dirty interior and grimy tables the grape leaves are about the only things to complain about. We ordered the mixed grill for two, it was more than enough for three people with leftovers.
This restaurant suffers from the same malady as a lot of Middle Eastern style restaurants, when it comes to cleanliness they replicate a third world experience a little too well. What I mean by this is that the restaurant isn’t exactly spotlessly clean. Filthy carpets, grimy tables, dirty tableware, bizarre decorations, dirty bathrooms, parking lots that are full of potholes, trash filled landscaping, and a building that is falling apart from lack of maintenance are not unusual. So, if you want Middle Eastern food, you have to look past all of the«warts» and carry on with your quest, this place is no exception. The oddest thing was that our waitress was obviously from the Ukraine or some other Eastern European country, but definitely not anywhere in the Middle East.

My husband and I enjoy coming here often. I can’t get enough of the warm naan bread with hummus and the garlic paste. Unfortunately friends and family have to deal with the garlic breath for the entire day! We usually get the deboned chicken, fruit smoothie and hummus. I’ve had several of the sandwiches(chicken tawook is my favorite). Service has always be good and the portion size is huge in my opinion. We usually only order one meal and split it. They have this weird lip at their front door so wheelchair users be careful, also navigating around in the bathroom can be an obstacle for larger electric wheelchairs. They have plenty of booth and table seating. There is a small bar but no low seats but really your not missing much.

Best middle eastern food I’ve ever had. I used to work here many years ago and have tried just about everything on the menu. Nothing has ever disappointed me. The best parts are their bread and their rice. Grilled veggies are delicious. Shish tawook, chicken ghallaba, chicken with humous, falafel, all sandwiches, and foul are among my favorites. Love this place.

Chalk up another win for Flint in terms of better than average Middle Eastern cuisine. Yes, I would say this is pretty authentic Middle Eastern food. It’s up there with Badawest on a lot of different levels. Terrific hummus. The bread with garlic dip is a must. It’s pretty addictive. I could nibble on that all night long. Pretty decent falafel, though I prefer Badawest’s a tad. Good size portions. I always go home with some leftovers, which always taste pretty good the next day. The service is decent and the prices are on par with other similar eateries in the area.

Love the bread and garlic dip! I wouldn’t mind just eating that cause it’s that yummy! It’s a tad pricey but the portions are large, the food is delicious. There’s a large menu of different options in terms of food, both lunch and dinner. Just absolutely fantastic.

Was my first visit but def not my last! Service was good and portions are also good. Great bread and garlic dip. Everything we tried was great. I was used to eating in Dearborn or my friends house(family is middle eastern) and this is by far the best I have found in this area. I really thought I would never find a good place like this in mid michigan but I was wrong. Prices are a little high but still worth it since portions are large.
