He’s a good guy and his intent seems to be good. He’s affordable(usually) and he’s busy. He’s a one man shop who also employs his wife and two legal secretaries for help. He used to be a prosecutor for the City of Flint prior to starting his own practice. He practices Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Family Law. When he is in the court room he is on task and there, but sometimes he seems to be flying by the seat of his pants(not as prepared as he should be). Outside the court room, he can be difficult to get ahold of, and even though he has an email address he doesn’t utilize it so its a wasted effort if you prefer that form of communication over others. If you are not a high paying client(as in PI or CD), you are easily forgotten or seemingly neglected, especially post-judgment. I retained him for my divorce, which he handled well I believe, but I also kept him on retainer for post-judgment work as necessary and was disappointed at how I was brushed off by his staff. His kids play hockey and he also does union(uaw) representations, so he is somewhat active in the community. Overall I’d have to say 3 stars.
