Our doctors specialize in fitting contact lenses for difficult conditions such as those needed for astigmatism, bifocals, keratoconus and after previous eye surgery.

We diagnose and treat eye disease such as glaucoma, conjunctivitis, foreign bodies of the eye, and dry eye syndrome. We also refer patients for eye surgery for cataracts and LASIK and can provide all the followup care after these procedures.

We have a very knowlegeable and friendly staff. Come visit our office and experience our personal service in an unhurried setting. You won’t feel as if you are being shuffled through a «eye factory» at our office!

History

Established in 2005.

There has been an optometrist in this location for over 60 years. It first was called Maxwell Optical. Dr. Maxwell sold his practice to Dr Jim Prater in 1972 and he employed Jerry Tomsik as his optician. In 1990 Mr. Tomsik took over the practice. Mr Tomsik decided to retire and sold the practice to Dr. Hamp Moore in 2005.

Dr. Moore had been in practice in Florence since 1989. He came to Florence after having been an optometrist for three years in the U.S. Navy. He worked with Dr, David McGee at Shoals Eye Clinic from 1989 until 1995. He then joined the ophthalmology practice, Valley Eye, where he continued through 2003. He then joined florence Eye Center until the opportunity arose to purchase Tomsik Eyecare in 2005.

In 2010 Dr. Moore was happy to have Dr. Kathy Warner join the practice. She had been in practice at Family Vision Center in the Walmart shopping center.
