The review by Jay B. is correct. All stores anywhere near Dallas Ft Worth are closed. The only option is to call the Arizona headquarters and arrange a visit with a technician who has a contract with Data Doctors. The technician who helped me about 2 months ago was very good, but he told me that he is the only technician he knows of in the Dallas area working with Data Doctors. On my most recent call they could not get a technician to pick up my request on the day I asked, so I took a day off work for nothing. The original understanding several years ago was for repairs in a local store for a fixed fee of about $ 50. Now the only benefit is a 50% reduction on the substantial hourly technician fee. Personnel answering the Arizona number have been snippy and impatient with me. It was a great idea and a good service when they had local stores and sufficient technicians, but things have changed a lot, and it doesn’t work for me anymore. I HAVECANCELLEDMYSERVICE.

All Texas stores have closed and any service agreements you have with them are basically worthless. They will NOT honor any in-store repair or agreement and want to charge you a huge fee for a contractor to come to your home for repair support. Data Doctors is staffed by very nice guys. They are friendly and are quick to offer to fix your drive. Here’s the catch. They take your drive and charge $ 140 to «check it out.» Then they send it off to a repair center in Arizona. Be prepared for a wait of up to three weeks from start to finish. Once your drive is gone, you will get a call telling you the fee to get your drive back. My quote was for another $ 1200 which was a shocker. Once the drive has been shipped off, you are sort of stuck. If you want a faster turnaround, you might also call TaylorMark or one of the other data recovery centers in Dallas. I talked to three different persons at the national center for Data Doctors and they explained that they replaced the heads on the drive. Once they did this, the drive booted right up. All of the data was there. There was no data recovery involved…$ 1400 total cost seemed pretty high. After posting a negative review on Unilocal,an executive from Data Doctors called me and agreed to refund ½ of the fee AND he promised to ship my drive back overnight… this was on a Monday. My drive was returned on Friday… not overnight as promised. Next time I will use a recovery service in Dallas.

Great service! The person who helped me there was super nice! I wish I had remembered his name. I had a problem with my computer I built and he was able to quickly tell me the problem and fix it fast! He also explained to me what went wrong and what needed to be fixed. Since it was a relatively easy problem… for him… he took the time to fix and show me how. He did it for no cost due to nature of problem! Bravo for an excellent customer experience!
