Outstanding! Although this farmers market has been open for a few weeks now, June 24 was the«Grand Opening». Hours are 4PM to 7PM(or until sold out) every Thursday. We arrived just at 4PM to find that the parking lot was just loaded with cars and folks looking to pick up some good deals on fresh local produce in spite of the 95 degree heat. The offerings included produce from local farmers and growers… several veggies and fruits, jams, jellies, local honey, homemade salsa and baked goods, and some ornamental plants and flowers. I am sure selections will vary depending on the season. We picked up some yummy tomatoes, green beans, a seedless watermelon, and a cantaloupe, all from various growers so that we could sample a variety. For those of us residing in South Hall, this is a great opportunity to sample local produce and not drive far from home to do so. If you are so inclined, stop by and support these folks, our neighbors. It’s just another step in supporting our local small businesses. And thanks to the Spout Springs Library for bringing this to our area!
