Out of this world meaty eats! This spot is absolutely killing it — will definitely return. We had the pork belly special $ 19.95/person for a Sunday Funday Flushing adventure. If your stomach is cruisin’ for a bruisin’, then look no further. This was an exceptional meal with diverse banchan and fixings that will round out your experience like any other KBBQ spot. Freshness is king here so get your drool on and come hungry! Staff is extremely friendly… I would be too if I had the best Korean BBQ in Flushing. Note: We crushed out a 2 person pork belly special. The sheer perfection that is Daeji Daeji filled us with a 2nd wind as we debated on sharing another meat special… Yes, that’s crazy, but that’s how good it was. GET. HERE. NOW!

Came here late at night, about 12am. We were the only ones there. Ordered a Kalbi and a pork belly, our usual when at a korean bbq place. I wanted to try this place because the saw the heavy cylinder grill that you see in the picture, but when we were there, they brought out a normal grill. They said they dont use the other one because its hard to clean etc. Not a big deal but it took out the specialness from it. I really like the marinated radish they used, it was like a purple color. The sides that was included to be wrapped with the pork belly and kalbi had a lot of flavor! i. e bean sprouts, onions, kimchee. The other sides were also super tasty too! The waiter gave us a bottle of snapple apple complimentary on the house. And was super friendly to us. Will be back!

I eat Korean food alot but you know I think it goes hand in hand with my newfound love for KPop. Flushing and Murray Hill undoubtedly have the best Korean restaurants in the city and you can add Daeji Daeji to the list. You have to venture away from downtown Flushing for this place but its worth it. You can the bus or do a 15 – 20 minute walk if you don’t have a car. You know when the food is great when you see everyone else is Korean except for you and your friend. If you’ve been to the old Hahm Ji Bach(one of my favorite Korean restaurants) you’ll be familiar with the location. It is warm, cozy, and smells like Korean BBQ :). We ordered the Hanmool Pajeon(seafood pancake), my friend ordered the Dolpan Bibimbap with seafood, and I ordered the Tukbaehi Bulgolgi(beef and vegetable hotpot). The pajeon was crispy, light, and a great ratio of seafood to pancake batter. Serving it with soy sauce makes it even better. The bulgolgi was seasoned well and sometimes I get picky with my bulgolgi because a few Korean places make it too sweet. This one was just right especially with spoonfuls of white rice. The Dolpan bibimbap was too spicy for my friend who has very little spice tolerance but the servers were more than accommodating by giving more rice to counterbalance the heat. From start to finish, the meal was great and you can’t wrong with eating Korean food here. Happy eating and remember: Don’t deny, satisfy!

Came here on a weekend for a late lunch early dinner with my fiancée. Place was pretty empty, but I don’t think this place has publicity yet. It’s on the same block as Mapo, the best kalbi in queens in my opinion next to sansookapsan, and hahm gi bak, a very well known place for their samgyupsal. We came here for what we think this place would specialize in, pork aka daeji aka samgyupsal. Bad parking in Murray hill, so plan accordingly. Restaurant is pretty homey? Wooden everything — probably sits 30 – 40. We ordered 2 orders of the samgyupsal and we were stuffed — barely finished. This seems to be a resounding theme these days, it’s kind of sad — getting older, can’t eat as much. The entire table was literally packed with ban chan(Korean side dishes). I’m pretty sure one can get full just off the banchan. It comes with dwenjang jigae(bean soup) and gaelan jim(egg) which is usually typical at kbbq place but sometimes you have to ask, they don’t always give, etc. they told us it came with the meal and it was palatable to say the least. The samgyupsal itself was delectable — 4 thick pieces of juicy pork belly along with bean sprouts and kimchi all on a stone grill. Some of the best pork belly in queens imo — on par if not better with another kbbq place specializing in samgyupsal, perhaps in Broadway… Nevertheless, the pork belly was tender, juicy, no «pork taste,» and really palate-pleasing. Overall, this is my new go-to samgyupsal spot. It’s a bit of a nuance to get to by driving but it’s a 3 – 4 minute walk if you’re walking backwards. 1 minute if you’re walking like a normal human being. Another place where I can’t complain about service, food, ambiance is whatever, clean, and soju is 7 bucks. Definitely hit this place up!

I’ve been to this exact space when it was Hamh Ji Bach before it moved and I had a great experience. Somehow the servers were nicer and more personalized in this smaller space. So when I went to Daeji Daeji with a friend I was happy to see the servers were similarly nice. It might be because there were only 3 parties in the place. But my friend commented it was the best service she’d ever experienced at a Korean restaurant and I’d have to agree it’s among the best for me as well. The banchan– the main reason I go to Korean places, let’s be real– was plentiful and varied but I still prefer the ones at HJB, which seemed more substantial and in greater portions.(Perhaps it’s not fair to compare this place to HJB but it is in the old space!) My friend and I shared a seafood bibimbap, which was really good, and shrimp on the BBQ. One plus is that you don’t have to order 2 meats for them to grill it in front of you. But, my friend was a little upset that we were only given 10 shrimp and it didn’t appear to be marinated in anything special– it was just… shrimp that has been deveined and cut up. On the whole I’d have to come back and see what else this place has to offer but this is an impressive start. — a Korean BBQ connoisseur.

The service was good. Side dishes were good, but their bbq was so bland. I’m used to marinated meats!

Just wow. I’ve never had such a great experience at a Korean barbecue place as I did here. Starting off, the place is a tad bit small so seating is a bit limited(but my boyfriend and I came here around 11PM on a Thursday night so it was relatively empty. The«banchahn»(Korean side dishes) came out in such abundance that we definitely could’ve made two meals out of it all on separate occasions. For the actual food, we ordered 2 orders of dah sahmgyupsahl(#4 on the KBBQ menu) — we ended up packing about half of it to take home. Of course we had to pair this with some Somaek and although the prices weren’t on the menu. we were pretty surprised as to how cheap the soju was($ 6.99)!?! How many other places can you find soju that cheap here in NY? Definitely on my list of to go places. If you’re reading this. please take my advice and try this place out!(The customer service was great too). You won’t be disappointed.

I love this place! They are a fairly new establishment and I wished more people knew about them. The portions are huge, the menu is reasonably priced, and the staff/owner are very sweet. They are also very foreigner friendly here, unlike many other Korean establishments, unfortunately.(My husband is Korean so I’ve had my fair share of Korean dining experiences!). Their Ban Chan(side dish) game is the best that I have ever experienced, aside from dinner at my mother in law’s, of course lol. There’s just literally, a delightful PLETHORA of side dishes scattered across the table and they all taste delicious and fresh… If you’re in flushing and want quality Korean BBQ that will fill you up without breaking the bank, please stop by, I promise you it will be worth it!

New go-to spot when I’m craving Korean! I usually go to Hahm Ji Bach down the street but the service here was a thousand times better. They give a ton of ban chan and a lot of variety too. I love that they grill vegetables on the grill as well. We ordered the soon du bu, galbi tang(which was amazing), dumplings, thick sliced pork belly and galbi. For the soon du bu I asked for mild and they actually gave me mild which was a first! At many other places I usually have to ask to send it back because they make it way too spicy when I specifically ask for very little spicy –_– If you’re ever in the area, definitely check this place out!

Most delicious pork belly! Staff was very attentive in cooking the pork belly with generous portions of grilled vegetables. Also an outstanding variety of side dishes(banchan) covered the table!

Good thing I called ahead to speak with someone that spoke Mandarin about pricing and etc. My mom wanted to try Daeji Daeji(Chinese name 姐妹) as she saw the restaurant advertised in the Chinese newspaper. When I arrived with my parents, there were three tables occupied so we sat down and ask for the Chinese speaking man. Since it was our first time here, Mr. Li suggested that we ordered 2 orders of Saeng Samgyupsal(Thick Slices of Pork Belly) which comes with a lot of small appetizers and other dishes which is good for the 3 of us. He brought out two soups and suggested that we should get a bowl of the red bean rice mmmmmm! Mr. Li sets of the BBQ plate and brought out the Pork Belly along with other fresh vegetable ingredients along with dipping sauces. He cut the fattiest part of the Pork Belly and rotated it on the hot grilling plate so the meat and vegetables won’t stick on it. After the first two Pork Belly were cooked to perfection, Mr. Li showed us how we should eat the Pork Belly wrapped in romaine lettuce which adds a crunchy factor. He told us to eat it in one bite so no mess from the hot soy bean sauce and the other one with soaked onions. We really enjoy Korean BBQ at Daeji Daeji so yummy and affordable. The experience under the care of Mr. Li was excellent. Definitely will be returning for their Lunch Specials which is from 11am-5pm! Add it on your bookmarks to try because it’s totally worth it!

I remember being moderately pleased with Hahm Ji Bahk for a Unilocal get-together once upon a time. But Daeji Daeji was such a better meal somehow! In many ways, this new Korean BBQ spot is indistinguishable from the KBBQ titan that is Hahm Ji Bahk. Walking up/in to Daeji Daeji felt so familiar, I wondered whether all of us had independently gone to the wrong address all those years ago. Guess what, it’s actually the same space — this was Hahm Ji Bahk before it relocated to fancier digs down the block.(Both are located in the center of NYC’s true Koreatown, Murray Hill in Queens.) The banchan here are awesome, many and varied. These little Korean side dishes included several types of kimchi, dried shredded squid, gyeranjjim(Korean steamed egg), doenjang jjigae(soybean paste soup), string beans, spicy beef tendon, apple salad, mini pajeon, etc. Alongside all the condiments for dressing your ssam(lettuce wraps), there must’ve been over 15 small dishes on the table. The tabletop grill is a cast-iron dome — Tong Sam Gyup Goo Ee with its offputting service( , is no longer the only KBBQ in NYC(that I know of) that uses the dome grill! The dome is tilted onto the flame, with a hole in the side for drainage. Pickled cabbage, onion, bean sprouts, and mushrooms are crowded onto the grill to mingle with fat runoff from your chosen meats. Waitstaff do the«cooking» for you, flipping, cutting, and notifying you when the meat is done. We ordered: — Korean BBQ: LA galbi($ 33) — Korean BBQ: saeng samgyupsal($ 20, highly recommended by the waiter) — Saengtae tang(pollock stew)(lunch special, $ 9) Everything was delicious. Samgyupsal is annoying, because it always costs some confusing amount for a mere 2 slices of unmarinated pork belly. Of course it was fantastically crisped and delectable, but until someone shows me why samgyupsal is more worth it than a slab of wagyu, I think I’m giving up on it. Service was fantastic, cheerful and attentive. When we wanted to get the doenjang jjigae lunch special, the waiter kindly informed us that doenjang jjigae comes as one of the banchan, and so a separate order wouldn’t be worth it. Lunch specials exclude Korean BBQ but are reasonably priced and run all week, with entrees originally $ 12+ starting at $ 8. Four of us spent under $ 70 before tip for a fantastic meal. Portions and prices are probably comparable to Hahm Ji Bahk — but the food just tasted better and the great service made an impression.

Me and my friends came here Sunday evening for dinner. The food was amazing. By Korean standards this place is pretty authentic. The hostesses were very nice and attentive to our table. This is definitely one of the places you must go to for Korean bbq if you are around the Murray hill area. This place has one of the best pork around and is usually not super packed.

My best friend who grew up in the Korean Flushing community brought us here for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The hostess was super friendly and the food was superb. Best quality meat, generous portions, and lots of interesting things to try on the menu. Don’t let the prices fool you, it’s worth the money!

Got the bulgogi and mushroom soup. It was delicious! Very flavorful and there were rice cakes in the soup. I usually don’t see this soup at other Korean places — I digress. The steamed egg was yummy and they gave 16 side dishes with this. 16! It was all very yummy. Plus the iced«rice» water was yummy. Hopefully I don’t get a stomach ache or have a dry mouth due to msg. But great place and I will be back with my non-Asian friends! I’ve tried most of the other places on this street and this one stands out!

Excellent place. We were disappointed from the place around the cornor and tried this instead. Got a room downstairs that was nice, and quiet. We had a group of 4 with two kids. Ordered and got good recommendations. Waiter was very friendly, and explained the dishes. Side dishes were refilled to exactly wat we wanted. La galbi was excellent, bimmbop and noodle dish. Everything was just prefect. Couldnt be happier clean place, tasty food, and quick service. Will be back agian.

We were just passing by to go to the next door restaurant and the new sign of this recently opened restaurant caught our eyes. I thought it was pretty funny cuz«daeji» means pig in Korean lol. long story short, we went in and ordered«hwang-jae(king) seafood pot». it was a good size to fill up 4 of us and had so many different seafood from lobster, crabs, octopus, shrimps, mussels and many more… I’m definitely going back to try their pork belly. pictures on here look soooo good *drool*.

We heard great reviews of this place from friends and wanted to try it. We ordered the Modum(everything) pork belly combo(comes with soy bean paste soup and korean steamed egg) which more than enough for three people. Its around 60 on the menu. The spicy red bean paste shredded marinated pork belly was soo good! It really hit the SPOT! That was my favorite. One of the best I’ve tasted. Fermented kimchi with all the pork belly oil mixing on the grill was an awesome sensation in my tastebuds. Great friendly service! Definitely would recommend to a friend!!!

I’ve been meaning to write reviews on Unilocal for a long time considering i go out to eat way more than I should ;) What planned to be Korean bbq at Hahn gi Bach turned out to be the new restaurant now resides there. I admit, at first I was hesitant and was ready to leave but they gave us this good refreshingly chilled kimchee soup to start and I had to finish it ! I’d consider it a hangover cure but that’s another story hehehe. We ordered pork belly(the thick kind) and marinated brisket and short ribs. To start they gave us 9 banchan. Anything above 5 is good imo. 9 is best. Of course I don’t expect 12! I’m not Korean royalty ;). Anyways, they were all tasty, and different and the wonderful staff made sure we were replenished of any of the dishes that were getting low. And we got steamed egg and bean curd soup btw ! Yummy all around us ! Now for the bbq. Fantastic !!! The beef were marinated just right and both beef dishes where tender. I love the pork belly. It’s my favorite. Crackling thick bacon?! What’s not to like! Here’s where things got interesting. They put some extra vegetables something like bok Choy(Waiter told us name but I forgot) on the bbq grill! That’s a first for me and made me feel like it’s what they would do for family. And that’s how they treated us non Koreans: like relatives! Honestly much better than the other bbq places in Murray hill. We asked for the bill(three different meats and two sodas: 80 bucks) and while our tummies were full we did finish the sweet rice soup they gave us . All in all. A great experience. And I’m a picky person :)
