Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Flushing

Hôtel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport, which is a big positive element! I was a bit disappointed by how long it took from pick up to drop off (1 full hour!!).
Staff is friendly and service is very good. Rooms are a bit smaller (which makes sense in this area) but they remain clean.
You won’t be able to find any restaurants walking distance but the hotel had a good amount of brochures for room delivery. You can also find a little «market» in the lobby for any emergencies (emergencies including ice cream or Nutella craving. What??)
They have only 1 elevator which makes the wait a bit longer.

When I booked the room the rate was around $ 120 a night. The website asked me if I’d like to use my reward points so I said yes. It gave me a disclaimer that if I didn’t have enough points I would have to pay the remainder and I checked ok. What it didn’t say was that the hotel was going to charge me the maximum they could. After driving 5 hours, the hotel staff informed me that the rates went up to around 300 per night and that’s what they were going to change me. After waiting over an hour in the lobby, I was told they couldn’t resolve and I would have to contact Customer Care. After calling Customer Care, waiting on hold for over a half hour, then getting transferred from rep after rep, I spoke to a supervisor, Neena, who was unwilling to help. I asked if I could speak to her supervisor and she told me she reports to «Mr. Marriott». I was staying the weekend and couldn’t get an answer or resolution as the staff manager wasn’t there. I was told she’d be in Monday morning and I could speak with her then. The manager was not on site Monday morning when I checked and I kept being told to wait. Finally after stating that I couldn’t wait anymore the lady at the front desk told me if I left they wouldn’t charge my card until we resolved the issue. I left and never received a call back. I left the manager, Stephanie V., a voicemail and still received no response. I called 2 more times during the week and no one would call me back. I never signed anything at the front desk agreeing to 300 per night, yet they charged my card $ 890 dollars without even calling me back. I’ve emailed Marriott since then and what a surprise — no response.

I spent my birthday weekend here with my hubby and 2 kids Feb 09 – 14 2015. we all had a great time. Every morning we left and came back the room was spotless, housekeeping was very kind with all the extra necessities ex. Shampoos, towels, coffee etc. It can be a bit pricey but it was well worth the money. Love the free breakfast every morning. Have recommended to friends who also enjoyed their stays here. Will definitely keep coming back oh and love the free shuttle bus service.

Scariest hotel ever. First, they put us in the basement — the basement! The room was so small, and the window was below street level. Creepy. Even more creepy, someone tried to break into our room during the night. We heard loud pounding and were too tired to get up (we checked in at 2:30am). In the morning, we saw that the double bolt was broken off the wall. When we tried to talk to the manager, she hid in her office and had the front desk say she was on a «conference call.» We left our phone number with the front desk, and never got a call.

Staff. Awesome.
Location? Best u can get in the area. If u r on business, can’t beat it.
AND… The staff even gave me a milk and cookie at night time. :)

Accidentally made a reservation online without realizing it. When i noticed they debited 300 dollars from my account, I called to ask for a refund. The lady was rude and refused, even though i told her it was a complete accident and I was never in the area. I would have assumed that they charge me a minor fee for the mistake but the whole cost of a room seems excessive.

Great hotel with very comfy beds and very friendly staff. Much different than the other hotels in NY. This one has an amazing staff and I loved the shower. Lol. All the other hotels had a shower with very hard water pressure that it would leave bruises on my body. I will always try to stay here whenever I come back to NY.

The staff was extremely helpful despite the leak that started on the top floor.
After a long day of travel, it was nice that the staff was able to give specific directions on how to get from the airport to their spot on the cheap. This hotel is the only one I’ve been to that has a shuttle pick up WHENEVER YOU NEED IT. Situated in lil Chinatown, the neighborhood was a bit sketchy and it took a minute to figure out why the driver was picking random people up at the corner gas station. (this was the designated pick up spot for hotel patrons, close to a giant mall and restaurants).
Back to the leak…
it happened before we got there. They were overbooked but managed to give my friend and I separate, upgraded rooms that were spotless, individual attention about what to do in the area, a breakfast that was hot and ready after sleeping in, and a place to stash our bags while we were out.
I would go back to Flushing just for that feeling of someone looking out for us in the biggish city.

Could not have been happier! From the front desk to housekeeping & everyone else that I came in contact with… They were so friendly & accommodating. The rooms were clean, the beds were so comfortable & it was great to have the fridge & micro in the room for leftovers !

It was very clean, the staff helpful and friendly, the room was comfy, the location was convenient, and a decent breakfast. All that you need. We will stay there, again, for sure. Very close to the airport, and highways to get where you need to go.

I think that reviews of this place can go in one of two directions — great if you have low expectations of hotels for that price given its location or a poor rating if you lack that perspective. Either way, it’s not much of a compliment. It’s an okay place that gets the job the done.

, because it was an affordable option, at a recognized chain, with the perk of a shuttle that could ensure I’d be at the airport for my 7:00 AM flight the next day.
The key disappointment with this hotel was the fact that it has poor air circulation, is humid, and smells like stale sweat. You can tell that they clean the rooms, but the musty nature of the building does not allow the odor to readily escape. Also, I am not much a hotel snob and have frequented a fair amount of hostels and coach surfed over the years; however, there are certain things even less desirable motels provide that were not there — I’m talking cheap, sample –sized conditioner. I normally don’t even use that stuff, but after leaving a lot of my toiletries in a bag I still had checked with the airliner, I guess I just assumed that would be provided per usual hotel procedure.
Anyway, the early morning staff were pretty friendly. I checked out as I waited for the airport shuttle and the woman working the front desk let me know that breakfast was available if I had an interest in grabbing anything before the shuttle left. It was a simple comment, but thoughtful. I found that to be nice.
Quick parting note — per other reviews, I would recommend forgoing this option if you are paying for proximity to entertainment. It being by LaGuardia is the key location perk and if you don’t have a car with you, you will be spending a fair amount in cabs and any shuttle services.

The perfect place to stay pre flight out of LGA. Clean, newer hotel w/​a very friendly & accommodating staff, and the best Fairfield breakfast I’ve ever had. They provide free (on time) shuttle service not only to LGA, but to local restaurants. We discovered a great place called Cascarino’s…a neighborhood joint with a fabulous menu. Again, the staff at this hotel was great, I highly, highly recommend this location.

The staff here is ultra friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Immediately upon waking from my day-​nap I found two pesky stink bugs in my room, which were promptly disposed of by hotel maintenance.
There is nothing to do around this hotel, but you often get that near airports. There is a great deli (Sparky’s) just down the street with good daily specials and sandwiches. They have a few small tables.
No complaints about the room. Most hotels in the New York areas give you a smaller version of a regular sized room but this one is normal sized. Comfy beds, good air conditioning, airport shuttle, and a microFridge. Can’t ask for more.

After a series of cancelled flights at EWR, I got a red eye flight out of LGA. They accepted my US Airways/​American hotel voucher without a problem. We got the penultimate of the last two rooms. It was clean, easy to get to, the staff was very friendly, especially Taylor who answered the phones all night. The room was a handicapped room that was quite spacious. The A/​C was so strong and easy to fiddle with to get the right temperature. Most importantly, the room was extremely clean, including the linens, and carpet. They have continental breakfast and a shuttle to LGA. Overall I think would have been too pricey for the quality if I had to pay out of pocket, but the voucher made the stay possible.

My first review. This hotel was kinda crappy for the price. Best thing is the shuttle. They will pick you up at the airport and take you there but they will also drop you off 2 blocks from the nearest subway that takes you into the city (why not all the way to the subway is beyond me but whatever). Any way my room was super humid. Almost like someone left a steamy shower on for an hour but it never aired out. Even leaving the room window open all day when I was gone. Also the air never got as cold as I like. Usually I can get a hotel down to some cold temps but not here. And they didn’t want to move me when I asked because «house keeping was already gone». What happens when someone doesn’t even check in till then. It was only like 5pm. Any way breakfast is ok. Just for $ 170+ a night it’s not worth it. This is a $ 120 hotel

Fairfield are all somewhat from a cookie cutter model. I rate this one a bit higher for their friendly and helpful service. The rooms are clean. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of hot and cold offerings. They are a bit pricey, but no different than other local hotels. They run a shuttle to the airport and other local locations. Parking is a bit challenging, but at least it’s free.

Arrived late at 10:30pm on 4÷24÷14. Abrupt person at front desk after waiting in line. NYPD in lobby, don’t know why. No parking as advertised, only on the street which looked like a bad idea. Was assigned a lower level room, across the hall from a loud party. Asked for another room, receptionist was not helpful. I am a longstanding Rewards member and have never had this upsetting experience at a Marriott.

The front desk has amazing workers. My favorite is Iris she was most helpful and so sweet and kind. The rooms are small but that’s to be expected in the city. There is ample amount of parking. Free breakfast.
The room was older smelled older carpet was sticky need to wear your flip-​flops. That was one of the reasons why I gave four stars not five.

Given the universe of hotel options in the La Guardia Flushing area, this Fairfield Inn is an excellent choice. It is clean. The beds are comfortable. The Front Desk is very helpful, and the staff courteous. The bathrooms are large enough and there is plenty of hot water and pressure for a nice shower. If you have a car, there is parking in the private lot, or if full, on the street alongside the facility. The breakfast is average, but with instant oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt and make-​your-​own waffles, it is a reasonable alternative to finding a place nearby.
Which brings me to the only real negative. Location. The hotel is about 2 miles north of Flushing on College Point Blvd., in the middle of a heavy industrial zone. While the Manhattan Skyline is in the distance, immediately behind the building is a heavy equipment rental business (sky buckets), which look a bit like erector set dinosaurs leering into your window. Strange juxtaposition you would expect from Hitchcock or Rod Serling in the Twilight Zone.
Once that is taken into account, it is a pretty good deal. Be sure to check the travel websites for the best possible price.
