Everytime I go here it just keeps getting better and better. Though I shop there after 10pm which might sound strange but I like the quiet that I experience. I will try to shop during regular people time to get the full experience. LOL!

Sucks that I have to give a low review. I used to enjoy shopping here since the place is clean and has a decent selection of fresh foods and Asian spices. Like some Unilocalers mentioned, their quality has been slowly getting worse though. I’ve experienced buying rotten/​moldy vegetables from here the last couple times I came (the pre-​packaged vegetables, which means you can’t pick or see how the middle pieces look like). Not only that, I also noticed that they tend to overcharge me. It happened one time, and I didn’t think much of it since like mentioned before, I used to like this place. But today was the second time within the month! I’m sure they would correct the charges for me if I asked the cashier right away, but it’s too bad I only found out when I got home.
Double check your receipts before you leave!!!

This hmart has a bunch of stuff, but it’s not as nice as the ones I’ve been to in Jersey or Northern VA.
We stocked up on meat and veggies. the prices are slightly cheaper than in manhattan, but its not worth it to drive out here considering how much of a pita it is.

I think I went to H mart once before… a long time ago. My sisters and a friend was going to stop here for a few things, so I decided to tag along. The place is organized, which I appreciate. I got a few things, but wasn’t impressed. I heard some of their other locations are better.

This location is far from the train station but they have a large section for the Korean side dishes. At the produce section, they sell those huge Korean pears and Fuji apples by the boxes. They also have some prepared food, and I got a delicious burdock root kimbap that I ate on my way back. Once at home, I wanted more of it. If only it wasn’t that far away.

Holy guacomole, they had a sea urchin sale where it was $ 5.49 a pack. That’s the cheapest I’ve EVER seen Uni sold for !!!
This place is so much better than the hmarts in manhattan, it’s almost as big as the ones in jersey but they still offer a great selection. You’ll find around random aisles that free samples being offered to showcase a certain product. There might be a wait depending on what you go.
Don’t forget to sign up for your hmart card to get extra savings!

My go-​to Korean market for everything Korean! We grab our giant sacks of rice, premarinated Korean BBQ meats, tofu, packaged kimchi, and other Korean food items here.
I’m here almost every other week, and it’s been such a regular part of my life. When my mom comes to town we go there to grab giant cases of Korean cabbage so that she can make me Kimchi!
They have a small fish monger area in the back, and Ikura and UNI! I’ve always been suspicious of uni at Asian supermarkets — I’m occasionally served horribly bad uni at sushi places so have assumed that it’s really hard to get quality uni. Thankfully I found today that’s not the case! I bought a 3oz tray of uni for $ 7.99 here — and I tore into it when I got home and it was SO good! As good as the $ 12.99 tray of uni I got at Mitsuwa in Edgewater last week! Rock on!
I still don’t trust the sashimi packaged in the fish section (I once got horribly sick from it), but will definitely indulge in uni the next time I’m here!

This review is actually for the location at Northern and Parsons, but since they don’t have a Unilocal page I’ll post it here. I was a loyal customer of Hmart for several years, going there for both lunch, and to the fish counter. After the events of today, I will never return. My usual fish guy refused to serve me, and told me I would have to buy the prepackaged salmon. When I explained to him that those pieces were not the right size and that I needed them cut a certain way, he flew into a rage, screaming at me in Korean. I sought out the manager, who also spoke no English, and he just stared at me like a bumbling idiot without saying a word. I tried one more time to reason with the fish guy, but I got the same response. Good luck dealing with these a — — holes if you’re not Asian. These people are a cancer to the community.

Clean, awesome, and cheap produce. They have anything you could ask for when it comes to looking for Korean products.

I went in looking for chopped ginger in honey. A friend had introduced me to it. I roamed the aisles for awhile before I decided to ask a worker for help. He was very willing to assist and helped me locate what I was looking for. While it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for (ginger was minced instead of sliced) it was close enough for me.
The store is well organized with Korean products as well as some American products. It was nice that there were sampling stations all around the store to try products.
Also notable:

–hot food was available
–multiple registers were open and lines moved quickly
–variety of household items available from slippers to throw blankets
Area to improve:
I wish the signs were easier to use when looking for items.

This is great for a late night ramen run! The food here is a little pricey… there are many items you can get in a Chinese supermarket for much cheaper. However, their hours and location is really convenient for me. I mostly come here for the packaged foods, so I can’t say much about their fresh produce.

this place has become worse over the years. the produce is much lacking, the fruits (strawberries and grapes specifically) have mold on them that i stuck with all packaged food and must now go grocery shopping again elsewhere for actual food.

Nice traditional Korean supermarket. Love the fresh kimchi and fruits are always fresh (and EXPENSIVE). Especially convenient with the huge parking lot.

Good products but dang! Why are prices in Korean stores so much more expensive than everywhere else? Yes, I suppose the quality is high but come on. Even for regular household items or even condiments like ketchup can run you extra here. I really like the fact that Korean supermarkets are much more organized and cleaner than the Chinese ones but the prices will do you no favors here. A $ 100 bucks will get you practically nothing if you plan on buying groceries to last you more than a week. My wife does some of her food shopping here. For certain things, I wouldn’t mind paying for such as their short rib, bulgogi. It’s a bit pricey but it’s nicely cut. I’m all about budgeting so everything else, I would buy at any other market that’s cheaper than HMart. I also highly dislike their parking lot. People clearly do not know how to pull in and out of a parking spot in Flushing.

Beware their parking lot manager has NO ethics! 3 small kids and the property manager followed me, incoherently threatened me and towed me in under 10 minutes. Don’t park in the parking lot if you are going to the adjacent library in ANY of your errands, even if it’s empty. He towed my car after watching me get out with my stroller baby and two small kids. Our plan was library, then HMart although we never made it to HMart. He followed me INTO the library, threatened me and my kids, then had my car waiting for me outside the library and I had to pay $ 140 on the spot, even though I told him I was running errands. A SCAM!!! I will never go here again. If he had the time to follow me, he could have had the decency to explain their policy but alas, he’s making money, right?

Fresh Prepared food FTW. We bought Fried dumpling, Orange chicken, Steamed tofu, and a Korean veggie and crab roll. All for $ 21! Some reviews claim that this place is super over priced and that you need to be rich to shop here. Really?!? I think not! This location has a parking lot so it’s an easy in and easy out process. If you have never shopped at a Hmart then you don’t know what your missing. lol

I only came back to this place so much because their products are pretty good. BUT, I don’t know if it’s a racist thing but this time when I was sick and I wanted to buy their cough drops since my throat desperately needed a fix, they were glaring at me when I picked it up near the cashier areas and went to continue to shop for groceries. Then when we were finished shopping the crazy cashier ladies were speaking in Korean with these awful death glares on me. I’m like wtcrap is going on. (I’m Chinese and I speak Cantonese) So they don’t tell me anything or even let me explain and they were pointing fingers at me and saying stuff like «You steal» i was like WHAT are you serious. Who in their right mind would go to jail, for a stick of simple square cough drops. Seriously. So I waved around the stick of cough drops that was in my cart in front of their faces.
I remember the face of that lady who accused me and I give her that look she gave me, every. single. time.
Good thing I discovered the other Hmart closer to Main Street flushing so I don’t have to deal with this racist crap anymore.

I just wish I speak Korean — most food items are in Korean language, and even with food spec on the back, very hard to tell what they really are sometimes.
Price is korean price — high. But quality is much better than, say Chinese super market.

This HMart is quite far from where I live but since the missus and I are hell bent on exploring the Flushing area for good cheap eats and asian grocery stores, we HAD to make a stop here and find out what they’re all about.
We found a handful of goodies here. The best of which was the marinated bulgogi that was on sale for $ 4.99/lb. That’s a STEAL! It comes pre packed in a plastic container. The one we bought lasted for a couple of meals and was really easy to cook.
The banchan and fish sections were impressive as well. While we didn’t buy any fresh fish, we did buy a container of stir fried anchovies which I ate with almost everything at home.
It’s a trek for me to get here and with so many good asian stores groceries closer by it’s a hard sell but hey if it’s a nice day out and I’m feeling adventurous again then one never knows…

I give this store only 3 stars. Their fish and seafood is excellent, but their customer service sucks. I’m sorry I’m not Asian, but when I see the cashiers laughing and being friendly to other Asians, then give me a nasty look and clam up when they see me, it kind of gets me annoyed. I love their products, but come on people, is my money not green enough for you!!! You give me the cold shoulder and an attitude, but you’re quick to snatch the money out of my hand.
