He Li DDS

I have seen Dr. He for years, mostly for routine comprehensive check-​up and cleaning. He has always been thorough. A few days ago, I went back to the office for tooth pain. Dr. He discovered a crack on my tooth, probably something I chewed on. He explained that the worst case might be root canal, depends on the depth of the crack, but he would try to preserve it. After more than an hour of examining, he was able to avoid root canal with a filling. This kept my tooth alive and saved me a few hundreds. I’m most grateful that he’s willing to spend time to my best interest.
I will definitely recommend Dr. He to any friends who are looking for a skilled and patient doctor.

VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE A KNOWLEDGEABLE AND RESPONSIBLE DENTIST THAN A BUDGET ONE.
i will give Zero Star if I could. I have been visiting He Li Dental for 5 years. And did the check up and teeth cleaning every 6 months. Everything was fine. Until last summer Aug 2012, i bought a Groupon for teeth cleaning in other dental located in manhattan. i have been told that i am diagnosed with this periodontal decease (bone lose and gum infection, will cause loose tooth) And the condition is very bad. and needs gum treatment immediately. I’ve never heard about that before, and was thinking are they trying to sell me something to make me spend more money. Further more, my dentist He Li did not mention anything about that to me before. So, I did not look into it.
In Feb 2013 this year, I noticed there is a space appearing in between my front teeth which i never have before. I was so scared and recalled what I ve been told about the deceased. I went to He Li on Feb 25’13 and did the usual teeth cleaning and 2 fillings done. I asked He Li what is happening to my teeth with the space. He said «space? I don’t have your previous X-​ray. Lets monitor for one year. If the space get bigger you can consider to do the cosmetic surgery which is put a shell on top of your tooth to cover the gap».
I am speechless. I knew something really wrong with my gum. By doing the cosmetic will never cure the root of my problem.
So, the week after I went to another dental located in Connecticut recommended by my friend, after the detail examination and 4 X-​Ray (side and front). My gum needs treatment immediately.. My front tooth with a space. the gum have a U shape hole caused by bone lose. Very lil gum holding my tooth and its loosen. Without treatment, I will lose that tooth very soon. The dentist asked am I a smoker which is I’ m not. She show back of my teeth with a mirror. All the yellow stain like an old man smoke for 40 years! I was so shocked and angry! I just did the cleaning 5 days ago! And I have 3 fillings need to be done. Wth!!!
Thank God that I bought that Groupon and know little bit about the periodontal. If not i will just take He Li’s advice wait for one year and see my tooth fall off. And with his cosmetic idea. Will just worsen the condition.
I learn an expensive lesson. If I m not being cheap, visiting a budget dentist past five years. I would not spend this extra thousands of dollars to do the gum treatment.
Go to He Li or not. It’s your choice.

Dr. He is excellent! He generally caters to the Chinese community but is fluent in English. He accepts several insurance plans and his rates are reasonable. He is thorough, not intimidating, and will not offer you unnecessary treatments. So far, I’ve had 3 visits with his office and I will be back in another six months. :-)
