This review is way overdue. I have been getting my pizza here for the past 10 years, and I absolutely love, love love their pizza!!! I always order two regular cheese slices and they have NEVER disappointed me. It always has just the right amount of delicious tomato sauce under the steamy hot cheese. I have tried pizza in many different places, because it is one of my favorite foods, but nothing beats Lucia’s Pizza. I have also been to the most famous pizzeria’s, but again, nothing beats Lucia’s Pizza. If you haven’t gotten a chance to go, you are DEFINITELY missing out. Trust me.

Another overhyped pizza place. Wow. Pizza (plain) was average. Just like any other average pizza place. The white dude working there looked bored/​angry like he could care less. Came across as rude but whatever. Stop hyping average pizza people!

East Elmhurst, NY
Tucked behind all of the Chinese restaurants in Flushing, you’ll find this small hidden gem on Roosevelt Ave named Lucia Pizza. I will go as far as to say that their plain slice is the best plain slice in NYC. This place is always crowded so expect your pizza to come out fresh from the oven.
There are many components that make this slice so freaking good, the homemade tomato sauce they use is really fragrant and you can really taste the spices and herbs. Their dough is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not chewy and tough like other slices are New York.
The pizzeria is rather small and there’s no private table seating, just a small, long table attached to the wall with stools. If you’re a New Yorker and you love a mean slice of pizza, it doesn’t get much better than this place.

Why bother going to other Pizzeria if you are in Flushing? This is the best you will get! Cheap, fast and delicious. As a pizza fan, I have tried all the pizzerias around the flushing area and Lucia is by far the best. So go inside and trade your $ 2.50 for a slice and have a taste of pizza heaven! Not the fanciest place but hey its a darn pizzeria! Head to this hole in the wall and you will not regret it!

Oh Lucia Pizza! How I missed you! I started coming to Lucia’s way over a decade ago. Best pizza. I no longer live in the area but whenever I pass by Main Street, I have to get a slice! Don’t ever change! Please!

This pizzeria is one of last bastions of non asian food in flushing and damn it; I will make it last forever. Easily one of the best pizzas in it’s class in Queens, Lucia’s has been open as long as I could remember, while plenty of stores around it have come and gone. I actually have a fond memory of the place from when I was younger. When I was a kid I had exactly 2.50 $ for a slice of pizza. Being really excited I accidentally dropped the slice right before I leaned in to take a bite. It landed on the floor cheese side down. Seeing that I was totally heartbroken and upset, the guy at the counter gave me a slice free of charge.
And with that simple act this pizzeria will ALWAYS have my undying loyalty. Give a kid a slice of pizza and you’ve gained a lifetime customer.
If you’re here for the food only, Lucia’s pizza is no slouch. They have some of the most well balanced cheese/​dough ratios that I’ve ever seen in a pizzeria. The crust is never soggy, partly cause the slices always fly off the shelves. While I’m typically not a Sicilian person, Lucia’s Sicilian slice is impressive. It isn’t too doughy and isn’t over bearing.
Pro tip: Get a no frills cheese slice. A great pizza place can always be seen in their regular slices. Regular or Sicilian, Lucia’s is no joke.

Lucia’s is right up there with Amore, New Park, Gloria, and Umberto’s (Elmont) as being my favorite places to grab a few slices or a pie.

I really don’t understand the hype for this place. I was astonished by the lack of flavor in the sauce. Crust and cheese are nothing special. Reminds me in every way of a 99 cent slice. If you are in the area and craving pizza, fine, but don’t make a special trip for this expecting anything close to the level of New Park or Dani’s. To say this is the best pizza in Queens is an insult to the entire borough.

Navigating the frenetic environment that is Flushing tends to burn my calories so I decided it was time for a snack. A pizza place is a welcome change from the many Asian eateries in the nabe and after reading Rich W.‘s review, I decided on a snack. I wasn’t as enamored of the pizza here as my fellow Unilocalers. The crust is indeed excellent, thin and crisy, the cheese to sauce ratio was perfect, but the sauce was a bit salty for me, missing the slight sweet tang I love in my perfect slice. Lucia is small, with a counter sporting a few stools. However, there is a VERY long counter where they serve you that seems to double as a convenient place to slap your slice down and nosh. It’s clean and the service is friendly. This wouldn’t be a place I would go out to revisit but I would try it again if I were in the nabe and had pizza craving.

I found this place on my way to work a few years ago. Hands down. Best Pizza in Queens. The amount of sauce on the pizza is just right. The cheese is just right. The bottom of their slice has a little crisp to it. Their pizza slice is perfection.
Their Sicilian slice is good too. I always come here to get pizza whenever I can because there is not a place in Queens that is better. Always tempting because I know they will not disappoint my pizza craving.

Delivery will take a really long time, and they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to wait.

New Hyde Park, NY
Growing up in the Bronx and later in Manhattan, I always needed a slice (or 3) every week or I would suffer the shakes. Lucia satisfies those cravings and more. The plain slices are perfection and I have seen and eaten upside down Sicilians that have made non pizza lovers go ga ga.
I went to school across from a Rays Bari, had great brick oven at Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn and Eddies in New Hyde Park. This is where I want my last slice when the zombie apocalypse comes.

The best pizza in qns! It’s $ 2.50 for a regular cheese slice. The pizza is not doughy but thin enough. It’s cheesy. It’s saucy. It’s perfect! For additional toppings its $.65 extra. I usually get with pepperoni also. Very tiny and cramped place. There’s stool seatings and some people just stand and eat by the counter.

Lucia in the sky with diamonds. Literally, because if you look up to the skies from Lucia, you will see jet plane after jet plane thundering over your head, about to land at nearby LaGuardia. Downtown Flushing is directly on the flight path for the airport, which makes it a pretty amazing and dramatic place to hang out.
This pizza did nothing for me. I was teetering between a 3 and a 4, but since it’s got such high ratings I have to say it’s more like a 3. It was a pretty standard slice, the kind I’d expect to find on the streets of Boston or DC. Large and greasy, saucy and cheesy, piping hot and it will burn your mouth, a little floury, but in the end, really nothing too spectacularly special, and nothing I’d get again in a city with gems like Luigi’s on 5th in Brooklyn and the amazing Garlic Bread Pizza at Sunnyside in Queens.

I have been here twice now for their slice because of all the good reviews. The place itself is very small; while there are a few seats along the wall, it’s best to order your food to go. The staff is very nice. One if the guys was cracking jokes while I waited for my pizzas.
The pizza was not doughy and had a crunchy bottom, which are good signs to me of good pizza. The taste was good too. However, I felt the pizza was oily; I had to pat the oil down with several napkins. If it wasn’t for the oil, I would have given this pizzeria a 4-​star review.

As someone from New Jersey (please don’t hate me), I don’t think I have ever had New York pizza. My boyfriend asked me to pick up a large cheese pizza. Holy crap, it was a large pizza. It barely fit through the door with me.
I like the thin crust a lot. The sauce is on the sweet side, but it went well with the fresh mozzarella. They made it fresh, and it was super hot.
They do take card, which is something that is unheard of in the city, apparently! Parking is a no, but I’m sure you all knew that.

As a pizza noob not from the East Coast, I came in and noticed everyone was eating cheese pizza. That’s it. The place is small and you are literally packed shoulder to shoulder. I ate one slice. Then another. Then another. Dear lord.
My paradigm was blown. Have you ever eaten something so simple, yet it deconstructs your understanding of itself? I thought I understood pizza until I ate here, then I realized I don’t understand pizza at all.
Simple, fresh, and minimal ingredients. Literally cheese, sauce, and crust. Sometimes the simple things are what blows your mind. I will be meditating on this for the next three months or so in seclusion.
