I love this office! Dr Rothstein is so amazing! All the Dr’s here are honestly. They really do care about their patients

I make my appointments late because I go to class during the day. One time I had an appointment at 8:20pm …and finally saw a doctor after 10pm. I was the only one waiting. I don’t even know if they are even open past 10pm. It was so tiring just waiting there. I got the older lady Doctor this time (you don’t have one doctor at this office, you get who ever is there at the time) and she successfully mutilated my privates and told me I needed to lose weight. Um ok are you a nutritionist? Didn’t really solve the issue I had at that time. Told me it was period symptoms when I wasn’t getting my period until two weeks from then.
The young lady Doctor who works here is very nice and kind.
They also stop your birth control after every about 6 months if you don’t see them for a check up.

I love this place so much. I seriously cannot say enough good things about them. I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. I was hospitalized for 5 days and every single one of them came to my room and explained everything that was going on. Sure at the office they might be a little short with you sometimes but who cares. When I needed them the most they were all amazing and helped make a bad situation less stressful. They were able to stop labor and I didn’t deliver my baby until 38 weeks. Dr. Calluzzo was on call when I went into labor the real time and she was amazing. She was by my side for the majority of it with the exception of having to run out and do an emergency c section. I went into labor at 7 pm and delivered the following day at 6pm. Dr. Calluzzo even sang Happy Birthday to the baby along with the rest of the staff in the room. I love love love them.

The care the doctors, nurses and staff have for their patients is phenomenal. All of the doctors have exceptional bedside manner and treat you with the utmost care and respect. I wouldn’t change them for anything. Excellent!

I have been coming to the practice since I was 11 years old…21 years later I still come to the office. I started out with Dr Melgar and loved her but for the past ten years I have been seeing dr Gilda Greenberg.
He is a fantastic doctor… he never rushes you and if you need him to call he does… Every doctor should have his bedside manner
If can be difficult to get an appointment sometimes but he is worth the wait!

This review is very very long overdue-(no pun intended).
I started coming here with my second pregnancy after having a very bad experience with my first in the city. First, wait times can be excruciating and long. I had dr. Herzog and absolutely loved him. I realized later the long wait times were bc he never rushes you and takes the time to answer everything single question no matter how dumb, with extreme patience. I was an emotional train wreck after ending up having a bad emergency c-​section with my first child. I was scared with my birthing plan with the most current pregnancy but he was nothing but constant reassurance from day one up until the delivery. I ended up having another c-​section rather than v-​bac and could not have been happier with my choice. Would Def recommend him to someone who wants someone confidant and likes a bit of hand holding.

Do not go to this practice. Several of the doctors are downright awful. After reading some of the other reviews on here, I want to echo the concerns and issues other patients have had. First, with all of my deliveries, these doctors have openly talked about doing everything in their power to «get it over with» and get out of there as soon as possible. I was given unnecessary Pitocin to speed up the delivery. One of the doctors in this practice also prescribed unnecessary medication during one of my pregnancies without checking my levels with serious consequence. In addition to that, I’m a very thin woman and gained no more than 30 lbs during all of my pregnancies yet TWO — I repeat TWO — of the doctors in this practice harped on my weight gain at some of my appointments. I mean, really? One of them even bragged about how little weight she had gained during her pregnancies– as if you deserve a medal for that — as if that is the goal. I honestly would never go back to this practice if my life depended on it. There are a couple of doctors that are good in the practice, but the risk of getting the ones that aren’t good is far too high. Please do yourself a favor, learn from my mistakes and do not go to this practice.

I haven’t been to this office since just after I delivered my son in 2012 but thought i’d offer my two cents. The practice itself is very busy. I never waited more than an hour but it can be difficult to get an appointment if you aren’t pregnant. My favorite Doc was Dr. Gilad Greenberg. He has an excellent bedside manner and listens to you. You have to see all of the doctors in the practice on a rotating basis before delivery and I was scared I would have Dr. Herzog. He talked me into a flu shot while pregnant when I didn’t want one and I just found him dismissive and rude when I said I wanted to try for a natural birth. He said something along the lines of «that’s what they all say.» Dr. Greenberg at least heard me out and said he would respect my wishes if I had him during delivery. Well, I did have him and things didn’t go quite the way I planned. Dr. Rothstein was on when I first arrived at the hospital and she was fine. She is quirky but nice. Dr. Greenberg took over her shift and I was happy but I didn’t like that he pushed pitocin because my labor was «stalling» and kept reminding me that I could have a c-​section at any moment. My labor was taking a while and I learned eventually that it was because my son had the cord wrapped around his neck several times (if I had known that I would have opted for the c-​section) but nobody knew. Ultimately, I delivered a healthy baby and Dr. Greenberg was supportive and a great surgeon when I had to get sewn back up after delivering vaginally. Please note that if you deliver at North Shore-​Manhasset that this is a teaching hospital so your doctor might have a student with him. Mine did and she performed some of the work on me after I delivered, which made me a little uncomfortable because no one even asked if that was ok.
Dr. Melgar was meh and I have never met Dr. Calluzzo. I’d only go to this practice for Dr. Greenberg and it can be hard to get an appointment with him so it isn’t worth it in my opinion. Next time, i’d rather go with a practice that is more natural-​minded and not so c-​section obsessed. Women’s bodies are designed to give birth vaginally. I had a hard time and a rough recovery but I did it despite my doctors.

Dr Gilad Greenberg is a great doctor. My wife says he’s the best. He listens and never rushes you. Very smart.
The office does have long wait times so that’s what drops the 5 stars to 4 stars. Plan accordingly.

I moved mid-​pregnancy and started my care at North Shore Ob/​Gyn. What folks say about the wait time is true – it took over 2.5 hours from my scheduled appointment time to be seen for my first appointment, and no quicker than an hour for each subsequent appointment. I even had the first appointment of the day with one of the doctors. The office staff (who were fantastic, by the way!) warned me: your appointment is at 9, show up by 9, but don’t expect to be seen until 9:30. He wound up shuffling into my room around 10:15.
Dr. Rothstein is very friendly and a great doctor, but a few things she said rubbed me the wrong way. My son’s condition was fairly benign, but more than once she mentioned that I was too far along in my pregnancy to consider termination. Huh? That wasn’t part of the discussion at all. The first time she mentioned it, I couldn’t believe I’d heard it. The second time, I started reconsidering my choice in doctors. I don’t think she meant any harm in it, but it really made me shudder.
Another physician in the practice, I believe it was Dr. Herzog, insisted that I delivery via C-​section due to my son’s heart abnormality, against the advice of my pediatric cardiologist who said a Cesarean would leave too much fluid in his lungs which is bad for a baby with his kind of heart defect.
Ultimately I switched practices so I could deliver at LIJ near the pediatric cardiology surgeon, at the advice of the cardiologist.

i went to this practice for the first time today. the wait time for an appointment to see Dr. Rothstein is 1 and a half to 2 and a half hours long. i waited for an hour and a half just to get into the room. the receptionist doesn’t tell you any of this or ease your mind on how long you are waiting for. you need to wait and speak to the nurse about the wait time. when you do speak to the nurse she will tell you that wait time can be up to 2 and a half hours. i don’t think this is right even if the Dr. is amazing. they clearly overbook and that is not OK. i walked out. i will find another ob.

This office has no respect for your time. Wait is 1.5~2+ hours long in the office WITH the appt. You wait for long time on the phone too. I have another child and I wasn’t able to afford the time every time I go for my regular visits with my second child. I am transferring to North shore womens health and I also recommend Great neck OBGYN. Both places have ultrasound service in-​house. I only chose this office because it was closer to my home but I finally had it after 3 visits I had with them.

All of them show no consistency on care for patients.
they’re in good mood or in bad mood depends on the day which is normal as a human…
the problem is that because of their lack of caring for the patients and more driven to work-​oriented personality I strogly NOT recommend this practice!
in spite of long wait time, parking fees, rude phone service, no follow up on lab results n etc… they r ruthless, irresponsible when it comes to patient’s concern.
Delivering a baby in your life is the MOST precious n careful sensitive procedure n having the right doctors n nurses r primarily important.
I delivered my first baby w DR ROTHSTEIN n it was horrofic, agonizing experience…
thinking about it just makes me tear in my eyes… she likes to use medication for quick delivery (pitocin, which can cause a lot of side affects) then it will requires more epidural…
a far from natural delivery… it is trauma for baby n u… dr needs to BE THRERE for the patient when patient asks for u, not showing up after 1 hour!!! but having nurses who has no idea what to do coming in n out just trying to do their routine job… makes it even more worse in this painful, helpless situation… ur baby inside can be in critical conditions with all stress n pain… on top of that when u make complaints n share ur concern n ask questions they refuse to take responsibility n lie about the facts n blame the patients! there’s no comfort n care during the labor!!! so please for u n ur precious baby, do NOT Choose this practice!!!

Yes wait time at the office and on the phone could definitely be improved. That’s the one star deduction. Office setting is nice and location is convenient. Had both my babies with these doctors and love them all. Dr Rothstein is more thorough in annual check up I would say than Dr Herzog and Dr Caluzzo. Melgar is nice but not warm and fuzzy type. You would get that from Gilad. Herzog I’m neutral but no problem with him. Caluzzo is relatively new and very young.
I have no problem seeing any of them so I make my appts with first available Doctor.

Dr. Calluzzo was my primary doctor up until a week ago. The practice requires you to see all the doctors at least once during your pregnancy in the event that your primary doctor is unavailable to deliver your baby when you go into labor. Last appointment I had the misfortune of being seen by Dr. Herzog. He was dismissive, rude and condescending and I immediately sought out another doctor because I can’t live with the idea that this person would deliver my baby. I have never had a worse experience with a doctor in my entire life. If you’re seeking compassionate care, please look elsewhere.
I liked Dr. Calluzzo very much but I just can’t take the risk that Herzog will be on call when I go into labor. I have also seen Dr. Melgar who I liked very much. It’s unfortunate that all the doctors in this practice do not provide the same model of care.
The practice offers late appointments which is a plus, but the wait time is extremely long (sometimes 2hrs+.) I didn’t mind putting up with the wait when I was happy with the way I was treated but clearly not all the doctors have the same philosophy when it comes to prenatal care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gilad Greenberg’s for 10 years now and wouldn’t change him for any other doctor! His bedside manners are unbelievably awesome! He has delivered all my 4 kids via c-​section and has made that experience as comfortable and smooth as can be. I believe it is hard to find such a caring and overall amazing doctor as Dr. Gilad. Yes, I agree with some of the other reviews here that the wait time can be long, and the call wait time is long as well but in my opinion and experience with this office it is worth the wait. I have never felt rushed or just like «another patient». Love love love Dr. Gilad Greenberg!!!

If you are a working mother to be, that needs an obgyn with evening hours, do yourself a favor and find another practice that has more respect for your time. I am 8.5 months pregnant and for EVERY single appointment here, they have made me wait 1 – 1.5 hours to be seen. Sometimes the wait is 2 hours long… and my appointments with the doctors are usually just 5 minutes. I am definitely finding another obgyn for my next pregnancy.

Fantastic doctors! Even more fantastic staff! I’ve been a patient for over 10 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else nor trust any other ob/​gyn office!
All the doctors here practice both obstetrics and gyno. Dr. Randi Rothstein is my doctor but I have seen all 5 doctors at one point or another. Dr. Richard Herzog delivered our 1^st son and Dr. Gilad Greenberg delivered our 2^nd son and I could not be happier with everything they have done for me during my pregnancies.
All of the dr.‘s in the practice have privileges at Northshore University hospital in Manhasset so not only do you have top doctors looking after you but also a top hospital to go to as well. Bonus!
Office hours are super convenient because their hours are from 8am-​9pm!

I have Dr. Melgar as my primary OB. The first consultation was informative and I thought I had chosen a good practice. I decided on this place for the fact that they are affiliated to North Shore Hospital, close to home and they have late night appointments (open till 9pm).
Since that first appt, things don’t seem to be as positive. I have not been pleased with the fact that wait times usually exceed 45 minutes and they don’t have equipment to do sonograms so as I result I have to schedule secondary appoints at the hospital. Appointments always seem a bit rushed and the doctors don’t seem very interested.
I think the practice leans more on the conservative side.

I have been coming here for 3 years, I switched to them mid-​pregnancy when I found out my previous doctor had lost his hospital privileges (which you sort of need if you are going to be delivering a baby…). I have seen all the docs, and they are all very, very nice. Dr. Melgar delivered my daughter, Dr. Gilad Greenberg is my main doc. The ONLY reason I have not given them 5 stars is because of the wait time. If you get an appointment first thing in the morning, you will wait about a half hour. If you get one for the afternoon or evening, your wait will be one hour at MINIMUM. When I was pg, I had to wait 2 hours for one of my bi-​weekly check-​ins. I was 8 months pregnant. That was not a comfortable 2 hours.
Also, the phone hold time is ridiculous. You are put on hold the instant you call and can wait anywhere from 2 — 10 minutes to actually speak with someone. I’ve been there and seen the receptionist doing this — it’s not her fault, the phones are ridiculously busy because they obviously have a TON of patients. But then they need to hire more people to help man the phones. I called once because I was spotting at 37 weeks pregnant, and was on hold for 10 minutes before I could even speak with someone.
The doctors are great though, so if you are aware of these problems and can schedule accordingly, then definitely don’t let that change your mind. But if you are the type of person who can only do evening appointments, be prepared for major frustration!
