I don’t usually eat pizza — especially not in Queens but when I heard that it’s stuffed crusted pizza, my eyes lit up. Unfortunately, I did not think this place lived up to my expectations. Interior/space wise, its really nice/clean/spacious! Walked in around 3:00PM on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait at all. The waiter sat my friends and I down quickly but also seemed a bit rushed. He kept coming back to ask if we were ready to order every 5 minutes — a bit annoying. When we were finally ready to order, he forgot our order(he didn’t use anything to write it down) and had to come back again for us to remind him — a bit unprofessional no? We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Pizza w/Bite Crust and the Bacon and Shrimp Pasta. The Bacon and Shrimp Pasta was good BUT the portion was really small. Nothing too special about the pizza either except for the bite crust! The bite crust was really good and different. They incorporated sweet potato into the dough! I really really liked this! Our bill came out to be $ 60.00 w/tax and tips. Definitely overpriced for two dishes. I don’t think I will be returning.

Came here with a group of friends and we were wowed by the interior. When we decided to order our server didn’t speak much English. We wanted to order certain things but basically half the menu wasn’t available to order cause one of their machines broke down! No fries, fried chicken or pasta… So we ordered the pizza and two other cheese side dishes. They messed up our pizza order and had to remake it. So question is. would I come back again? Maybe not

As you walked into Pizza Maru, you see the coolest tree trunk displayed in the middle of the restaurant along with the cutest seating area. It’s quite spacious setting and we were seated right away to a half booth and chairs. I was looking all over the restaurant then my eyes locked to a booth in the other room so my friend asked our server if we can move to it… yea ME =) We flipped through the visually and colorful menu which is always so helpful choosing what to try first! Who doesn’t want to try some delicious Korean P I Z Z A yo =P Shareable: Kalbi Steak Pizza with Bite Crust… woah baby love this Korean Pizza style and the Bite Crust was stuffed with cheese also my friend pointed out some sweet potato… pretty cool and very yummy! O M G big slices of the Kalbi Steak and Ham so tasty with knife and fork into it =) Sweet Chili Gangjeong Chicken… damn the chicken pieces were huge… wooo nice thighs along with a wing and drums… the sauce was so perfectly delicious and the skin is still crispy mmmm Definitely will be back because the menu is pretty outstandingly different and unique flavor profiles!

Our party of 4 came to pizza maru a little after 8:30 on a Friday and had to wait for about 10 mins which was no big deal. After we ordered, the waitress kept on coming back apologizing about the long wait time for the food even though it wasn’t really even that long. We ordered a large bulgogi pizza with golden crust, which is stuffed cheese and cream cheese crust and it is really good! Stuffed crust options cost extra. The golden crust for a large was $ 5 extra. I knew from Unilocal that it cost extra but I don’t remember seeing it anywhere on the menu so that’s something they might want to add. The pizza wasn’t greasy, no oil at all, and it actually tasted healthy with all the veggies. We also ordered a small sweet sauce fried wings(but actually was given a large instead) and a large sweet chili chicken. The chicken pieces were pretty big compared to other places. The sauce is very sticky so be prepared to get your hands dirty. The Parmesan fries was a smaller portion but it was okay because we were stuffed after the chicken and had a lot of food left over. We finished eating and we were allowed to sit there and talk for at least an hour without being rushed out since they didn’t need to table. They have a banner outside with some pretty good drink specials for mon — thurs like $ 11 beer pitchers and $ 5 mixed drinks. Will def come back

A fairly new spot has open! Thought I try it out ! If your into experimental fusion types of food. I would recommend this spot ! It’s basically Asian/Italian. As given from the name. The whip cream honey fries was very interesting… I can’t really put my finger on it. It’s just one of those types that you don’t like em, but you don’t hate em either. The pizza wasn’t anything of amazing. I do recommend the garlic knot crust though! Just be warned if your in a rush to get food or to pay the bill. You patience will wear out! But, if you want to sit there and chit chat all night. This is a place for you! There is a lot for parking which is free! But, if you drive a nice car. Prepare for battle scars! As for prices. it was slightly over price for pizza and fries… But, that’s expected if you go into most Korean spots.

Came here for the 2nd time today and was not satisfied. We ordered the Potato Wedge Pizza, Crispy Chicken(Small), and a Peach Ice Tea. Our server paid no attention to our table after taking our order. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the workers were conversating and paying attention to the few customers at the bar, instead of helping those seated. I would give this place a 2 star, but the workers did greet us politely as we entered and left(even though it is obvious Korean courtesy). We were also charged for more than we ordered and had to ask for that to be fixed. The Potato Wedge Pizza was really good. The Crispy Chicken was small, overly-coated and fried. There was about 6 pieces costing approximately $ 12. There was too much white meat and the coating was too overwhelming and crunchy.

Came here on a Saturday night. This place reminds me of pizza hut in Asia. There are pizza with stuff crust and weird toppings. We ordered the seafood pizza and the bulgogi pizza. They were both decent, but not mind blowing. Also, we got two orders of chicken drumsticks. They were way too much breading, but the sauce was good. Overall, I would come again if I am at Bayside. But it isn’t worth the trip if you are elsewhere like Flushing.

Everything here is decently priced. I thought it was an interesting place to try out when my friend said they served Korean pizza. I have never heard of such a thing and was excited to try it out. The restaurant is very spacious and the décor is really nice. My friend and I came here in the middle of the day for lunch and the music was playing way too loud. There were barely any customers in the restaurants, music does not need to be that loud. The music was loud enough that I had to raise my voice to talk to my friend. Really not necessary. As for the food, we ordered the parmesan fries, bulgogi pizza, and a pasta that I don’t remember the name of. The pasta was pretty good, I liked it since there was a hint of spiciness in there. Although it is just typical spaghetti, haha. The parmesan fries were nothing special. My friend had the honey fries last time and said it was really good, so I want to give that a try when I come back. The bulgogi pizza was way too much for me. Of course, we did not finish all the food. I personally like my pizza really thin crust, so I didn’t really enjoy the pizza as much since we got it in the original crust. Overall, it was alright itself, not something to go crazy over. It had a bit too much flavoring for my likings. Most options were like any of the American pizza chain stores.

Boy am I surprised by this place! When my non Unilocal friends recommended this place and having gone yesterday, I was skeptical. *Insert emoji* This restaurant has a very open layout especially for Northern Blvd Flushing. Theres a full L shape bar on the right and a lot of seating everywhere else. I came with a party of 2 adults and an infant. They were very accommodating to the infant which is always nice to see. Since my friend came here yesterday, she took charge and told me what she thought was good. However, I still put in my two cents. We ordered a bottle of their red wine(apparently the best one to be paired with pizza, $ 45) and it was not too bad for the price. The waitress was very friendly and patient with us. We ordered the following: mushroom salad, kalbi steak regular small pie, small order of spicy crispy chicken and seafood toppoki. The food arrived in fair time. The mushroom salad was amazing. The mushrooms were sautéed and the vinaigrette was a blend of vinegar and vinaigrette with the just the right amount of sweet and tang. This was an above par salad. Many of you reading are probably like wait Korean’s making pizza? But who knew? They did a very good job! The dough they use is like a mixture of white flour and whole wheat flour and it was not too thick nor thin. The kalbi steak pizza was amazing, perfect amount sauce and cheese ratio with adequate kalbi steak on each slice. The regular/small size is enough to share for two people. Now the crispy chicken, my goodness. It blows UFC chicken and Mad for Chicken out of the park. The batter they coat their chicken in is truly phenomenal. GIVEMETHERECIPE! It wasn’t too saucy or spicy. The chicken came out piping hot which is a plus! SOGOOD. The waitress told us to get the regular garlic wings that are at the beginning of the menu but I’m so glad we went with these. They are a little bigger in size per piece but who the heck cares! Lastly, we had the seafood toppoki. The dish arrived in an appetizing serving size, it was not overwhelming large or overly saucy. I hate when other Korean places serve you a bowl full of sauce and 10 pieces of rice noodles, like CMON! This place prepared it with just the right amount of seafood: sauce:noodles. I wish I had enough space to order another pie because it was just that good. This place really surprised me and I can’t wait to go back! It’s located in the little shopping center where H Mart is located but don’t let the other restaurants distract you, this is the place to try!

It’s not JUST pizza, it’s not JUST fried chicken, it’s pizza and fried chicken, KOREAN style. What whatttttt. Pizza here is getting crazy. Lots of wild flavored. At what point does a pizza cease to be a pizza? Come here to find out. Big place. Lots of seating. And a parking lot outside. Quite convenient.

Even though the name of this place is called Pizza Maru they also have other stuff to order other than pizza. I’m a fan of their parmesan fries. Very crispy. Their crispy vegetable fried chicken was very tasty. I also ordered the gold garlic wings. It was my least favorite. It was was tad too sweet for me. Definitely will come back and try the pizza and the pasta dishes!

Don’t call them the Korean Pizza Hut because they will be offended(I would be, too). But you still ask how this came to be? Pizza is as American as apple pie despite it’s Italian origins and many cultures have embraced the baked dough, sauce and cheese. So it is not unusual that this Korean chain would land a franchise here in the middle of Little Korea here in the most diverse borough of Queens. With their patented dough recipe, Pizza Maru has taken on the big guns of the pizza world. Many things about their pizza reminds me of the gimmicks that some of the big US chains offer, like the cheese stuffed crust. But then again, you won’t be hearing Papa John’s offering a Kalbi or Bulgogi pizza anytime soon either. We had a good start with the mushroom salad with warm sauteed mushrooms. Next up was the Jjampong creamy pasta, which was really ramen in a watery cream broth with some shrimp, squid, mussels and a ton of chili pepper. Skip. We ordered the Kalbi pizza with a plain crust and was tasty, but it really needed more kalbi and less drizzled sauce. The ham on the pizza didn’t do it for me and would have traded those for more kalbi. The crust was crispy and had a nice chew though. Next time we’ll have to try out the wings and stuffed crust pizza. The service was excellent with a very courteous, trained staff. When we sat down, our server explained that there might be a wait for food because of a backup of orders, but it turned out not to be so because everything came out in a timely manner. You could see into the open kitchen that nothing was rushed in there and all the cook staff were professional and efficient. The long communal tables are great for groups, just not so much if you’re on a date. So what’ll they think up next? General Tso’s Pizza at Panda Express(Gasp!) or Har Gao Calzones at P.F. Chang’s???

Came here with my coworkers & we all split the kalbi steak pizza with stuff cheese crust both small & large come with 8 slices but it’s just different size portions. It was really good. Fried chicken — large comes with 20 pcs and small comes with 12 pcs. There isn’t a huge selection of sauces though. There isn’t anything that special about the fried chicken like any special seasoning or sauce. I got a shrimp rose pasta. For some reason I expected it to be more creamy because the description said, «cream based sauce with a touch of tomato and shrimp». It tasted more tomato than creamy. The photo on the menu looks more like white creamy sauce but it didn’t really look like that in person. On another note, their strawberry vodka is so bomb & their staff is very friendly.

We ordered the Parmesan fries, wings & kalbi pizza with the golden crust. The pizza was good, and we especially enjoyed the crust. We thought having a sweet potato with string cheese crust would be weird but it actually tasted pretty yummy. Only con, There wasn’t a lot of kalbi on the pizza. The fries were nothing special & it wasn’t something I would order again if I decide to eat here again. We got the sweet garlic wings(i think its called) & sauce was really good. Overall, its really pricey and not anything too spectacular. Their pizza is good and I do recommend people to come here at least once to try Korean fusion pizzas.

I am so torn about this place. Pizza Maru, I really wanted to love you but you just did not fit the bill. Other than K Pizza(in Palisades Park, NJ), it’s rare to find authentic Korean pizza with sweet potato filled crust. When I found out that Pizza Maru was opening, I couldn’t have been more excited. I’ve been here twice now — once for the supreme pizza and then I gave the shrimp & pineapple Hawaiian pizza a try. While the drinks(citron infused soju!) and the honey glazed wings were absolutely amazing, the pizzas were a bit soggy and had way too much cheese. I don’t think I’ve given up on this place yet because I keep wondering«What if we ordered a different kind? Would it be better?» Who knows. I have strange cravings for sweet potato pizza sometimes. If that’s you, make the trip out to New Jersey. K Pizza: 1 Pizza Maru: 0.

There are positive and negative parts to Pizza Maru: its food and drink selection is solid, but the service can use a bit of work. During the first time I came here, I ordered a kalbi (korean style beef) pizza, but to my dismay, the server told me that they were out of that. They ran out of a similar pizza that I requested as a second alternative, so I had to choose a third. I would’ve saved so much time had the server told me in advance the food they ran out of. I’m thankful that ordering food was straightforward during my second visit there earlier tonight: I ordered the Hawaiian Shrimp Pizza and got a seat at the bar. In terms of drinks: I wish that the servers could’ve refilled my water without my asking them to do so. Another strange aspect of the service that could use improvement is: I wish the servers took away my plate and pizza platter after I finished eating. I was at PizzaMaru for 2 and a half hours watching an NBA game, and I was aware, but not bothered, by the fact that my empty plate was in front of me for an hour(I was focusing on the basketball game than on the plate). One server put away my plate and pizza platter after I set it aside and away from me on the table– I shouldn’t have to do that for the server to set aside my plates for me when I’m done. That said, the servers here are friendly, but they don’t seem as invested as they could be in making their customers’ experiences the most positive they could be.

So from the get-go when I walked into this place, the décor felt like I was in Seoul! Feels legit like a Korean fusion place in Korea! Very wide open space, mixture of tables and booths, good lighting and I loved how you could see straight into the kitchen!(Cool seeing people tossing the pizza dough.) Service was good, very attentive, and friendly A group of us went with the mentality of «mad for chicken» being some what the gold standard to compare to, I’d say it’s hard to compare because of how different the flavoring and mixture of entrees available! The Parmesan fries were delicious, not too oiley, very crispy and went perfectly with some ketchup! The«hot spicy chicken pizza w golden sweet potato crust» was pretty good; very filling and a good mix of crunchy, savory, and ‘doughy’. Little too much cheese if you ask me but people seemed to love it The sweet and spicy garlic fried chicken was my favorite; flavoring was on point not too spicy not too sweet. Overall very nice place to come w your friends to grab a beer and some finger food; a little pricey if you ask me but supposedly they only use organic ingredients and only Cornish hens for their chicken

(I’m actually giving it a 3.5 but decided to round up the star.) I came here for lunch around 2pm today. There was a good amount of people but still empty tables. My sis and I got a table by the booth. The menu is extensive ranging from salads, pastas and to pizzas with drinks in the back. My sister and I ordered a small bulgogi pizza with the gold crust(sweet potato crust) and Parmesan fries. The Parmesan fries were a bit disappointing. I guess it’s because I’ve had better from mad for chicken. Nonetheless, fries are fries. The bulgogi pizza wasn’t so bad as the other reviews say. It was on the pricey side, I agree. The small pizza with the gold crust($ 4 more) was roughly $ 20 which you can get about 3 Pizza Hut pies if you get the $ 6/each deal. But the flavor here is unique and I’ve always wanted to try it so I gave it a go. I probably wouldn’t come back again because it’s just too much for pizza. But if you haven’t tried Korean style pizza, here would be a good place to start. There is plenty of parking so I guess that gives the extra ½ star.

I’m really really torn on giving this place 2 stars because I enjoyed most of the food but the condition of the cups where water/soda were served was pretty bad. By bad, I mean they smelled like bleach. When I called over the manager he told me that the smell was from the hose they used to clean the cups(at least that’s what I think he said). Which imo makes a ton more sense than bleach being used to clean a cup… because, who in their right mind would do this? Regardless, it threw off the entire experience. The replacement cups didn’t have that smell which is weird because weren’t they using the same hose? Maybe I heard the explanation wrong. Another thing that was a bit annoying is that there is a HUGE fake tree in the middle of the restaurant. I assume that this is a support pillar just decorated and covered up. However, this makes it pretty hard to for servers to be waived over in certain spots. That coupled with the fact that the servers seem to really enjoy hanging out near the bar when they aren’t doing anything makes certain areas complete dead zones when it comes to getting their attention. A button notification system that a lot of Korean places have might be a good solution around this problem. On to the food. It’s great. The small pizza is very easily shared between two people, especially if you happen to order a side. The gold garlic wings were pretty decent but very sweet. We got the kalbi pizza which was also sweet and had that distinct pizza from Asia taste(I assume MSG but who knows). We also got the garlic Parmesan fries to balance out the sweetness which turned out to be a fantastic idea. The food is definitely 4 out of 5. I would also like to note that this is how Korean pizza is SUPPOSED to taste. This is about as genuine as it gets within NYC/NJ. All things considered, I recommend getting your food to go or delivered(they do delivery) till they’ve ironed out the wrinkles. There’s a lot of potential here but they are a bit overshadowed by the problems at the moment. I just hope they don’t do that Korean thing where every dish starts to taste the same: creamy and sweet.

Came here on Super Bowl Sunday with my boyfriend. This place is newly open. It’s beautifully designed and quite spacious. It also has an open bar area and if you walk towards the back you can see the open kitchen and watch the chefs making the food. We were quickly seated but we waited for the menu longer than expected. I think everyone was watching the Super Bowl even the workers. We had to ask for the menu ourselves, which is not a big deal. This place has two menus. One was a paper menu which you can see the prices of the food and another was the laminated one which you just see pictures of the food. This doesn’t make sense, why can’t be one just 1 main menu. We ordered a small order of honey garlic chicken and one order of their honey fries. This restaurant has only one type of fries which didn’t gave us any choice to choose. Their fries came with whipped cream as dipping. It tasted delicious but I wouldn’t mind having regular fries. The honey chicken tasted good. It’s not fried more like baked chicken glazed with honey. I liked it, it’s more of a healthier alternative to frying. Everything was great. The service was nice and waitress was quite attentive. What I didn’t like was that there’s only one stall for the ladies restroom. This is not enough considering how big this restaurant is. Overall, this place is alright.

Almost half their menu was unavailable when I went, but their garlic chicken barbecue pizza made up for it! Maybe its too early for me to give them a review but from todays experience ill give them 4 stars. I ordered galbi steak pizza to go and i thought it was savory. Pizza was not oily at all which is a plus but it was pricey for the size. I ordered a 10in pizza and it was around $ 18 dollars. But then again it has much more toppings so i dont think its fair to compare the prices woth pizza hut or papa johns. But it did lack galbi, i just thought it was not enough but it was fairly ok. I am going to revisit this place to dine in and update if theres anything more to share.

I really wanted to like this place for its location and cute décor, but unfortunately I just don’t see myself going back. Chicken — ordered garlic wings because they said this was the only chicken available(I guess due to not being fully open/functioning yet?) decent, but there certainly are better places to get chicken within walking distance to this place Pizza — any pizzeria including your local pizzeria and chains like Papa John’s, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, etc. do pizza better. For Korean fusion pizza go to Cheogajip. We ordered the supreme combo — so mediocre, and the Kalbi pizza — pass on this. Pasta — overpriced and the portions are small Service was great, though!

New pizza place on Northern Blvd! My friends and I got here at around 3pm and there were still a good number of tables available. I really liked the décor of this place! Everything seemed squeaky clean and modern. There was an artificial tree that added a nice touch, bright lights that provided a nice dining environment, and cool ceiling decorations that were nice to look at! Service was great too! All of the waiters were very attentive and actually stopped by our table to see if everything was ok. Only thing I have to complain about is that no one refilled our water. Honey fries– The presentation makes it hard not to order but honestly, it tasted meh. The fries were very crispy, which I liked, but adding honey on top of it just made it taste weird, in my opinion, since I’m not a fan of mixing sweet and savory. The whipped cream also felt really out of place. There is no way fries and honey/whipped cream should cost $ 8… Soy garlic wings– They have a stronger garlic taste than those at other Korean fried chicken places and they were not as crispy but overall, I thought they were ok. But then again, it’s hard to mess up Korean fried chicken. Kalbi pizza– Wow it’s definitely a little on the sweet side. Even the tomato sauce tasted kind of sweet. They were very skimpy with the kalbi pieces. I got this pizza with the cheese filled crust and I cannot even begin to fathom how it’s possible to charge $ 5 extra just for putting a little cheese in the crust… Overall, I would say this pizza was alright though, nothing mind blowing. Bulgogi pizza– It’s a little dryer and not as sweet as the Kalbi pizza but again, they were skimpy with the bulgogi. As with the Kalbi pizza, the veggie toppings mixed very well with the meat topping. Chicken teriyaki pizza– Definitely one of the better pizzas, in my opinion. I think chicken makes for a better topping than beef but it was a little dryer than the Kalbi pizza. It also comes with sweet potato pieces but I’m not a big fan of sweet potato so I didn’t enjoy it that much. We ordered it with the crust that comes in pieces and it was fun dipping those crust pieces in the garlic sauce that they provide. Overall, I would say this place has ok food but the prices are way too high. My group of 5 shared 1 order of honey fries, 12 soy garlic wings, 1 large pizza, and 3 small pizzas(all with specialty crusts) and it ended up costing us about $ 35 after tax and tip. I could get ayce kbbq/sushi for that price! If you want to try this place out, I would recommend not getting the specialty crusts because they weren’t that good and are definitely not worth the extra $ 5.

Despite the negative reviews, my friends and I decided to come check this place out. We ordered the garlic bbq chicken pizza, combo and kalbi pizza. All very good and as pictured. We added the sweet potato/cheese crust which was also really delicious. We also ordered garlic fried chicken and wings. The fried chicken comes has a half or whole chicken, and the meat was tender and crispy with the right amount of sauce. I will most definitely be coming back here!

unfortunately, most of the bad reviews are true. HORRIBLE way to run a business(during grand-opening)when they tell you more than half the things(pizza, chicken, and so forth) they cant make due to lack of ingredients and the other half, they discourage you from ordering since it takes too long to make. Definetely not worth trying… The pizza is pretty awful.

We were very excited when this place was opened, so decided to come try it. Luckily, we got the table right away but the food came out an hour later. They even had a salad bar which was empty. Just decorated with empty plates. What kind of restaurant opens without any preparation??? So i asked the server when the salad bar was going to open? I was shocked by the response i got. They said they might not open the salad bar, they said they were going to see customers review!!! HELLO, how are we going to review your damn salad bar if its EMPTY!!! whats up with two separate menu you are giving us??? You should have ONEMENU with price on it!!! Coke we order was served in a. I believe 10 oz mason jar… With no refill!!! If you are going to charge me with every cup i order then give me the damn COKECAN instead of serving me fake powder coke!!! The garlic chicken we order was decent/yummy looking, so i took a bite of a huge piece, GUESSWHAT??? Couldn’t find any chicken! It was all bread crumb!!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! We also ordered pizza… Which was… ok i guess… Ugh… Theres no point of me writing this… This place was just disappointment, i dont think i would ever go back…

I’m walking out of this place with the biggest disappointment. We sat at 6 pm and the place was literally out of everything. They didn’t have their specialty crust, no chicken, no salad bar… Literally nothing. We should have walked out but we decided to try it. We ordered the fries which was interesting. We ordered the spicy shrimp pizza and bulgogi pizza on regular crust. Spicy shrimp pizza came out with cheddar cheese on top that looked like it was melted in a microwave and was sitting on the counter for awhile. Like stale and solid gunk of cheese. Bulgogi pizza… Man. I’m Korean and I didn’t realize bulgogi was BLACK. Like solid charcoal black. It was so dry and the sauce was a weird mixture of tomato paste and hint of bulgogi sauce. They should NOT advertise the place as Korean pizza cuz pizzas in korea are unique and delicious… ANDFRESH! Our bill? 51.01 for two small pizzas, order of fries, and 2 coke. Then we went to pay, gave them 70 $ and the cashier asked if we wanted our change cuz they didn’t have dollar bills… Wtf do u say at that point??? . I’m sorry to the owners. But if u aren’t ready to open, DONT. Or you will have pissed off customers who will leave nasty reviews.

My friend and I dined in on Sunday evening at around 730 and were seated at the center of the restaurant. The space was very uncomfortable, because we were seated at the end of a very long table that should probably only be used for group reservations. I looked around to see if there would be a better seating for two, but there were only booths which seat 4 people. So if you come with a group of two, then I guess you will be seated awakardly at the center of the restaurant for everyone to see. We noticed that this place is very understaffed, or just very slow servers. Food was just left at the kitchen counter for minutes because no servers came to pick it up. We saw customers waiting awakardly at the door to be seated(there were empty seats available). My friend and I got seated right away though, but they just threw two menus at us and left. One menu had pictures and all, but had no prices. The other one was just words on a paper with the prices. We went back and forth between the two to find what we wanted to eat and to see how much they cost. Got little annoyed here. We finally managed to find what we wanted and called the server to place an order… and he told us the ones we chose were unavailable. Hello? You tell me that now??? They could’ve either told us that before we spent all that time picking the menu, or print out a new paper copy with the ones that are available. Nothing hard to do… but with no explanations and no efforts to fix, it was pretty disturbing. Now on to the food, very mediocre pizza. And I am extremely confident that I can find better $ 15 pasta somewhere else. Salad bar was closed for some reason(no explanations whatsoever). I know what it is like to be a server… you just want customers to tip you well and leave asap… but there should be minimal efforts, no? If your menu is unavailable, let the customers know beforehand. Don’t just throw two menus at the table and leave. Two stars, because I understand this place recently opened up and should be in the process of brushing things up… far road to go ahead.

I came to Pizzamaru with two friends. We ordered the honey cream fries, the small garlic wings(for some reason, they were only two flavors available because of time), and the 14″ kalbi steak pizza. For one thing, these fries did not look like the fries in the picture. It was some sort of honey bread fries. They were glazed with honey and had a tower of whipped cream in the middle. I like fries in general and you can be creative with them to a point, but this was just not it. It was so sweet and something I wouldn’t want to eat before a meal. I believe it was $ 9. My friend even tried to ask for some salt to sprinkle on these fries but the waiter said they had no table salt. The wings, on the otherhand, were alright. If I wanted good wings, I would have went to mad for chicken or pelicana. So I couldn’t complain much besides the size of it. It was really tiny chicken wings compared to other chicken wings. The pizza though was delicious. It tasted really good as I devoured each slice with my friends. You can ask for parmesan, red pepper, and pepper to them.(free!). It had the korean pizza approach. But it was $ 23 I believe. So it was pretty expensive. All of this added up to $ 48? I believe. Now something that really ruined our first experience of this place was the water. Water… The essential piece to every meal. It comes in a glass cup with the smell of scrubwash. The smell of the cloth they use to wipe down the tables. It was so strong to the point that I had to ask for our waters to replaced three times. Not only that but the second time it smelled even stronger! No exaggeration but it really reminded me of a swimming pool. I understood that it was their first time for everything but this was kind of obscene. I was going to ask for a sprite but I saw that instead of a can, it comes out in the same cup as the water… So for the third time, I wanted to ask the head waiter(the one wearing a white uniform) But he was nowhere to be seen. He left the restaurant at one point in a jacket. When he came back he went to the back of the restaurant. So for our whole meal, we did not drink water. At the end, I asked for him and he gave us our water(which still had the smell of scrubwash but a slight amount) but we had to drink it because we were dehydrated. The salad bar definitely needs more options and labels of what they are. I scooped myself some greek yogurt. To my dismay, it was 100% greek yogurt with no sugar and no flavor. I was genuinely shocked because I wasn’t prepared for that type of taste. The service of this place was decent. The waiters would come around for assistance when you needed help. At some point though, they all disappear. Overall, I’m probably going to never come back.

Best pizza I ever had in New York! It’s Asian flavor. I had sweet potato crusting, bulgogi pizza and steak pizza. The pasta is soup base very special and tasty. It’s not like traditional Italian pizza take out, it’s more like a high end restaurant and lounge at night time. The music is not going to disappointing you. Even the crust uses 12 different grain and mix with Italian 00 flour.

Disappointed… Too sweet. Event spicy pizza. $ 1 pizza will be much delicious. Can’t believe i spent $ 50 for 2 large whole pizza– actually it can’t be named large size.

We went in during the weekday lunch hour. Service was bad because they were short on staffs. Only had 3 staffs hosting, serving the entire restaurant. This person who seemed like manager was not doing anything when they were so busy… I had to yell out to place an order because we were waiting for more than 15 minutes at the table. Ordered Maru comb 10″ pizza and Shrimp Rose Spagetti, but they weren’t that great either. I went in here after reading two good reviews, but I am not sure how they thought food was good. It tasted like mini pizza from pizza hut that was $ 15. Not worth money, portion was way too small, service was bad, and food wasn’t that good. I am not going back here even if their service or food gets better. I can get so much better quality of Italian food cheaper at any pizzaria. Reason why I gave two stars is for the environment of the interior.

The three of us go in and get seated in a booth in the back. Waited 10 – 15 mins and then someone tells us the booth was actually reserved for another group of 6 and asks us to get up and move to the front of the store. We Wait Another 10 mins and we are fed up and leave. I was anxious to try the pizza. The place was well decorated but the salad bar looked disappointing for the price. Terrible service and inconsiderate. Too bad bc I was looking forward to try it. We ended up going to kyochon around the block and they had happy hour until 9pm!

Was excited to try this place after my friend mentioned that a korean pizza chain restaurant was opening up in flushing. décor was really nice and the place is super spacious so I walked in feeling impressed but that changed quickly. We ordered a side of the honey fries and seriously do NOT order it unless you want to eat it as dessert. I am an avid fan of french fries so I’ll take them in any form usually and have no complaints. These were so weird. Drizzled in honey with basically no flavor to it and given with sauce in the middle which I am 99.999999% sure was whipped cream out of a can. Imagine dipping bland sticks drizzled in honey in lukewarm melted whipped cream and having to pay close to 10 dollars for it? No thanks. We ordered the small size potato pizza to share among two people and It was pretty good. I think the green tea dough def has a good doughy texture and the sweet potato crust was yummy too. Another minus to this place was their horrible service and lack of attention that they gave us. I know you guys just opened so I don’t expect you to be experts and fulfill all our wishes but how is it that during our one hour meal, NOONE came to check up on us once. When I tried to get someone to refill my drink which ran out 10 minutes into the meal, it was as if they were avoiding eye contact on purpose. This was ridiculous in my opinion as the place wasn’t even crowded when we were dining(8 – 9). They seriously need to work on this because I was really irritated after waiting 15 min for the check, even though we were sitting in the dead center of the restaurant. They had free salad bar for the soft opening but you only get to fill your plate once, which was more than enough. The selections were limited and not impressive so we didn’t even eat most of it. Bill came out to $ 36 for a side of fries, a small size pizza(which almost looks like a personal pie), and a diet coke. I don’t think I would go back any time soon.

The poor service ruined the experience for me. I stood in the middle of the restaurant for a good five mins not knowing where to sit. No one greeted me. Hell, no one even noticed I was waiting to be seated. I was getting annoyed, so I approached a worker and she FINALLY sat me down. She apologized, but I was still feeling irritated. The honey cream fries are a joke. Just imagine unseasoned fries drizzled with honey, served with a cup of whipped cream. That’s literally what it is. It’s basically a crappier version of McDonald’s fries dipped in McFlurry. The wings are OK. They’re extremely garlicky, so I don’t recommend them if you’re expecting to be kissed after. Overall, I wasn’t impressed.

Driving down aimlessly on Northern Blvd. looking for a place to eat and we happen to stumble across this place. Since there was a parking lot, we were on that side of the road, and it was a brand new restaurant… we decided to give it a go. Wasn’t disappointed. Décor is your standard Korean import. Earth tones and black decals across a white wall spreading some sort of happy message. Not that I’m complaining or anything. Definitely a much better set up aesthetically than 99% of the other places I could’ve ended up at in Flushing. There’s a giant plastic(?) tree dead smack as you walk in that you would think is really corny but is surprisingly decent. Didn’t see many people at the bar but then again it was only the soft opening. Got seated pretty quickly even though it was a packed house. Even though we were pretty close to the tables next to us, it never felt crowded or stuffy. Music was definitely A+. Up to date playlist. I’m guessing some sort of Pandora? Went from Justin Bieber to The Weeknd to J. Cole. The menu was crammed full of things you would expect to find at a korean eatery but we decided to stick with what we knew. Pizza and chicken. We ordered the Garlic Chicken Gangjeong Chicken and it was amazing. Whole pieces of chicken fried perfectly and covered in just enough sauce. I’m not a fan of an insane amount of sauce and this place gave just enough. Definitely a must try if you’re a chicken fan. A very welcome chance to the robotic chicken places that litter Flushing. For the pizza we ordered the combination pizza which is a standard personal pie sized pizza with pepperoni and a bunch of veggies. Nothing to brag about here. Singas is better. The only standout to the pizza here is the crust choices. We went with the bite crust and it was the highlight of the dish. Picture mini pizza bites as your crust. Yes. That. All in all, we’ll definitely be back here to try out the rest of the menu. Ambiance was awesome. Staff was friendly and attentive. Place is CLEAN. Give it a shot if you’re in the area and looking for a dinner option.

Was invited to private pre-opening(informed that actual opening is on Wed — 1⁄20). Pizza Maru is a take-out pizza/pasta chain company from Korea. They’re known for using green tea dough(yes, anything green tea I’ll take) to make their pizza. Interior is very chic. I love the lighting, the wallpaper and even their decorations of the wood pizza peel; they even have a bar area with two large tv’s. There is also a salad bar in the middle of the restaurant. We ordered the following items: Chicken Wings — had a garlic taste, but still minor so wasn’t too strong. Fried perfectly. Pasta — Shrimp Rose Pasta and Hot Cream Seafood Pasta. My favorite out of the two was Shrimp Rose. There was a sweetness to it, but it was to my liking. Pizza — Kalbi Steak Pizza and Golden Crust Pizza. The golden crust pizza has a sweet potato layer with cheese on top which makes it pretty unique. Kalbi Steak had cheese in their crust which I lovedddd. Definitely coming back here next time to try other things. They also have ddukbokki(spicy Korean rice cake) and fried rice on their menu
