This is my local salon and I come here ALL the time. Awhile ago I had my first gel manicure with May and it came out HORRIBLE… too thick and all over the place. I decided to give them a second chance today since I wasn’t working and didn’t want to travel to the salon I have been having my gel manis done near my job. I had Nicole and she did an amazing job. Will have her do them again now that I know someone is qualified to do the properly.

always backed up. Limited color selection. Poor customer service.

I had a bad experience here multiple times. The owner or person in charge has a bad habit of not writing down reservations, telling anyone who calls that it’s fine to come in at the time a person asks. Then when the person actually shows up and finds the place busy, the owner lies and says«You never made a reservation. You never called. We are too busy to do anything for you.» She puts customers in a position to have to defend themselves. Then she relents but not until she’s made a huge public display of it. It’s a pretty messed up routine. The first time I witnessed her doing it to someone else, and it was really uncomfortable to watch. The second time she did it to me. I walked out. No way I’m coming back here. It’s truly unfortunate too because my sister really liked one of the pedicurists that works here. As an aside, they also got rid of the only unique thing about the salon — which was the cute buckets in which they did pedicures. Now it’s just the same old massage chair, and there are only two of them on the premises(no wonder they’re always backed up). So basically, nothing distinct to make me put overlook the rude behavior.

I would put 0 if possible! I have taken my wife to many of these places and they always accommodate but the two times she’s come here, she’s always told they don’t have time even though we have an appointment. Then the employees create a scene in the store in front of all the other patrons and then take people after we leave. They lie and said we did not call for an appointment. Not cool man! I could have spent my time much more wisely! Go across the street to xiao zhu beauty salon! At least they don’t lie!

For no nonsense deep cleaning facial that will not break the bank come here. Like others have said the room is semi private separated by curtains. I’ve been coming here since they open. I use to live around the corner now I travel from Fresh Meadows but I wouldn’t come from far for this facial. The set up of the spa is cute however the bathroom could use an overhaul. Hate stepping into the hole. The extractions are not a joke and I haven’t scarred from them. I do use the ylang ylang serum for acne and their toner. I love they never pressure you to buy products however I am a decleor serum fan and find their products light w an awesome smell. I hate that they chat loudly amongst each Other and not a fan of their basin pedicures. Gel Mani’s ok but I have a fav nail salon already. Would definitely recommend if in the hood!

great place for a mani & pedi($ 22 everyday). The girls who work here are meticulous and it definetly shows in their workmanship. The place is small with only two mani/pedi stations, but i prefer it this way because it’s more relaxing than your average nail salon. And it’s a plus that they take MC& Visa! I would call ahead and make an appt if you plan on going in the evenings or wknds, it does get busy.

I was thinking if I should make it 5 stars. Decided to stick with a 4. I realized I needed a facial and I was short on time. I did not really have time to look for reviews and then go to downtown Flushing looking for the salon/spa. So I decided I’m going to walk one block(YEs, ONE block) and get my facial at sea shell spa. I’ve not seen too many customers get in and out here but decided that this is the best for me given my time crunch. I land there 2PM on a Monday(today) and find two ladies. They did not really greet me but just looked up at me and waitied for me to talk. I told them why I was here. They showed me the brochure and I said I wanted the basic facial that has blackhead extration. Apparently, that costs $ 30. There’s a mini-facial for $ 20 but I was told that it does not include blackhead extraction(I don’t know what that is, now you know why 4 stars!). One of the women, who is Cindy, take me inside. This is a big rom with curtains separating 4 beds. Nice arrangement, I liked it. Clean. I was given a change of clothes and then She comes in to do the facial. The products used were not great quality I feel and neither did they smell strong while I like strong smell(good thing for those that dislike strong smelling creams etc). 5 minutes into the facial and She starts extracting blackheads. As Paul H. has mentioned, they are very crude and the extraction was painful! But my face is squeaky clean now. The massage was ok, nothing great but above average. A mini neck massage was done too. I do not usually fall asleep during facials and was awake during this one too. Finally, she puts the mask and leaves me alone. What annoyed me the most was the two women kept talking in their language. That kind of put me off(another reason for 4 stars). Finally, after a very long time She came and pulled off my mask and cleaned my face. The facial was supposed to be 50 mins but I am sure they did a minimum of 60 minutes. The last 20 minutes were basically me waiting with my mask on for Cindy to come and clean. I dress-up, pay $ 30+ my tip and leave. The best part is they did not force any products or services and Cindy did not even expect my tip. She was super happy to receive it though. I liked the look on her face when She got my tip, that alone will take me back here. I paid by cash, I think they accept MC and visa(call before you go). It is usually never crowded on week days but I don’t know about week ends. Recomemndation: I would not travel to this spa from other parts of town/city. I live one block away and so it is well worth it! I will be going again, this time for a massage possibly. It is probably on the little expensive side. If you live nearby or if you have al ong wait at te downtown spas then come here for your facial, you will be served right away! They are right on Kissena Boulevard, near the Walgreens and H&R block. Overall, I am happy!

Coming onto Unilocal and finding that this place got only one star kind of surprised me as today both my friend and I had the best facial in ages. To be honest, the lotion and massage part were kind of so so… however the extraction portion(Also the portion I care the most about in a facial) was superb. Unlike Sammi L., our aesthetician used tools to extract out our white heads and blackheads.(Not sure how she got someone that used their bare hands, however, if in the future they pull that stunt on me I’d definitely update my review and dock stars.) The extraction was very thorough and unlike most places in America, they were very aggressive when they were extracting.(The same kind of service I would normally get in mainland China) For those that might fear pain during extractions, their facials are definitely not for you. However, if you can endure pain you will come out with a very clean and shiny face. I paid a total of $ 50 for my facial and given the quality and care I think it was definitely worth every penny.

This place was a total waste of my time and money. I went to Seashell Spa looking for a great facial since I paid close to $ 85.00. I ended up with very poor extractions with the esthetician not using a blackhead remover but her bare hands and she was answering the phone as well. Ewww… thank goodness I didn’t end up with any scarring with this very poor method. Secondly, there was an infant baby who was crying and getting fussy throughout the whole facial who belonged to the owner. Are you kidding me?!? Hello staff, you don’t bring your kids to work especially to your place of business which is supposed to be a relaxing environment. A real no-brainer. I will NOT be going back to this place. My manicure was just as bad. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money in this economy.
