Skyline Cruises

We recently had a family celebration on the Skyline Princess. We booked the first deck which accommodated our group of about 80 people with room to spare. There is a DJ up on the third deck and our guests went up there to dance, while music played at a conversational level in our room. I thought this was a very good arrangement — It was the first party I’ve been to in a long while where dancing was available, but I could still hear and speak with the other guests without being drowned out by the music. The food was served buffet style and all our guests enjoyed it. We had two private outdoor viewing areas and of course our guests were out there taking photos and enjoying the views. Our guests ranged in age from 6 months up to 80 years and everyone seemed quite entertained. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating, parking at the Marina was included and plentiful, and the price was budget-​friendly in comparison to other venues. A wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended!

Had A Great Time Last Night At The Skyline Boat Wedding!!! Congrats To the Couple! The staff was Great!!! Friendly professional and The wait Staff were really attentive and i got seconds all night long of the delicious food and great desserts! Im def going to recommend this boat to friends& family for All occasions!!! Thanks again For A great Night to the city& back! You all did A Great Job. Great Team Work!!!

We booked this dinner cruise to celebrate a family birthday. The experience was mediocre to be generous. The food was fair, and the service was substandard. They were definitely under staffed and it was obvious the crew did not know anything about customer service. We had to ask for everything after our assigned server went MIA. The entertainment was prerecorded music only; no live DJ or music as initially advertised. The manager asked how our experience was at the end and when we replied not good, he ignored us and moved on as though he did not care. What a colossal waste of my money and time!

Have been on the cruise twice and really enjoyed both times! Awesome views… LGA, Rikers, all East River bridges, skyline view from south and Statue of Liberty. Very good/​plentiful food, and bar service. Fun dance club with good dj.
I’m also one who always thinks everything is too long, but I have to say that I do not find the duration of this cruise to be too long. It’s the perfect amount of time to dine, sight see, dance, party, grab some dessert and wind down (sober up if necessary.)
Will be back despite the crappy commute from NJ. If there’s a Mets home game (might have to be a 7 pm game) the LIRR will be servicing the Mets/​Willets stop so you could train in like going to a Mets game. Just under one mile from train stop to dock.

Valentine’s day
Decore, place settings, and vibe was great. Red linen, nice lighting and fully heated.
Service was top notch.
Bathrooms could have been cleaner.
Food was buffet style. Fish, steak, chicken, vegggies, potatoes. I was definitely full.
The windows needed to be cleaned so you could actually enjoy the view.
Will return.

My hubby surprised me with this beautiful Valentines Day dinner. Filled with family and friends. We had friends who were running late, the captain held the ship for them to board. They also called to verify where they were. I was blown away by the customer service, food, and the great DJ. We had an amazing time! Even my mother in-​law who isn’t easily impressed enjoyed her time as well, which made me really happy. Overall I recommend this dinner cruise and will probably be back during the summer.

Went on a July 4^th cruise around the NYC harbor. The views, of course, are extraordinary, any boat in that direction will deliver that. As for this particular boat ride, the music played by the DJ was a great mix, that kept people of all ages on the dance floor, the view of the fireworks is unparalleled — they are yards away from the Macy’s barges, the service is on point, the food, however, was lacking. It was a buffet style dinner with typical catering food, pasta, chicken, and roast beef. The flavor, all mediocre. Dessert was definitely the best part, they offered an array of options. Overall, I would go on this cruise again, definitely worth it, I’d just hope the main course options were prepared a bit better.

Skyline Cruises’ Buck Tanzi and staff helped us to make our son’s Bar Mitzvah such a beautiful and extra special occasion. The food was excellent and drinks flowed freely. We appreciate their hard work and the dedication by their waite staff, Captain & crew to ensure that our guests would have a warm & memorable experience that lasted throughout the evening, and it will remain with our family forever.

we boarded the Skyline Princess for my cousin’s wedding reception. I’m always up for a boat ride, but I always forget to bring my eyepatch.
to be fair, I’m always a bit cautious about the food on boats, but the food was spectacular (the chicken particularly was tender and had a flavorful, slightly spicy brown sauce) and the service was great. open bar with friendly bartenders.
I liked that we had a private room for the party, which included private bathrooms (and not just one stall and a sink in each, they actually had a few stalls) and a private deck. of course, we managed to infiltrate the top level and back deck to get some good photos! the boat itself was in good shape and clean.
what I liked the most was the slightly different cruise itinerary. I’ve done the half-​crescent boat ride around Manhattan a zillion times, which is fun but fails to really impress me these days. I guess living here my entire life makes me a bit jaded. since this left from Flushing we got to see more of northeast Manhattan, north Queens, and west Brooklyn.
fairly accessible by 7 train as it’s a bit of a walk behind Citi Field. plenty of parking, but we decided to Über it so I could drink (the weather was spotty, so we didn’t feel like walking from the 7) and not need to worry about driving home.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding reception. With only 3 months’ notice to organize our special day, my husband and I were scrambling for an available NYC venue that was accessible by different modes of transport and within our small budget. Hotels nearby for guests. And by some miracle, we stumbled across the Skyline Princess.
We opted for the open bar package, to keep our guests happy :) It also included an excellent set buffet menu (cooked on board) accommodating guests with gluten-​free and nut allergies, a 2-​tier wedding cake (you can pick the fillings), a maitre’d to keep things running smoothly on the night, as well as accommodating and attentive wait staff.
With our guest count at 55, we booked out the second deck, which can fit up to 65. The elevated view ensured everyone could enjoy the sights and take amazing photos. There were outside areas at the front and the back of the boat on the second deck, which everyone appreciated. And if they wanted to dance, they could go up onto the top deck (protected from wind and rain) where they could make requests to the DJ.
Buck was our to-​go guy and made everything possible with his helpful suggestions — my husband and I wanted a no-​frills kind of wedding reception, and with the set menu, the numbers on the tables, the cake, the little things we needed were covered. We were also able to incorporate a Chinese tea ceremony on board in respect for my parents, and had our dances in the middle of the second deck, which gave us a little privacy from other non-​party guests.
It was awesome. Just what we wanted. Thank you so much!

My husband’s cousin’s wedding reception was held on the Skyline Princess. I’ve been on quite a few boat cruises around Manhattan. This particular boat was average size, based on my experience with the NYHRC yacht being on the smaller end on the spectrum and the Cornucopia Destiny being the largest, if my memory serves me correctly. The boat seemed a bit older than the other ones I’ve been on, but was still clean and attractive. The food was good, as were the potables. I have no complaints about the music either.
Overall, I had a favorable experience on the boat – it was wonderful to celebrate the bride and groom and meet some more of my husband’s family, and I will never complain about a chance to be on a boat. I do, however, prefer setting sail from Manhattan or Hoboken. The first few (and last few) minutes of our ride were decidedly unscenic, and the marina was in No Man’s Land with a dock that was not stiletto-​friendly. It was interesting to sail around Roosevelt Island and Upper Manhattan, which are both areas that previous boat cruises had not taken me to.

Went on this twice and it sucked both times.
First time, horrible DJ, horrible food. The awful music was played so loudly on the speakers that there was no escape.
The food, I made better omelets when i was 8 years old.
Went again for a wedding and they forgot everything including the captain who was to marry the couple…

We sailed on the Skyline princess on 05−31−14 for a dinner cruise for my bday. It was 5 adults and 2 children. We paid well over $ 500 so you would expect the food to be good. Well, the quality of the food was poor. The chicken tasted like it came right out of a freezer bag from Bj’s, the fish was salty and fishy tasting, and the pasta was gross. I can’t comment on the prime rib because I don’t eat beef but a relative informed me that it was just «okay». The pasta was tasteless. The fingerling potatoes, the pre-​plated caesar salad (served in a saucer rather than an actual plate) was delicious. The desserts were very good. I must say that they did accomodate the children by making them chicken fingers and fries, which was tasty. I was appreciative that they did this for the kids because our kids are picky eaters. The alcoholic drinks were decent and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. We were on the first deck because there was a party on the 2^nd deck so we kind of felt as though we were underground. We had to go upstairs for the dancefloor and the music was just good. The dj was friendly and would play any songs requested. It was cold so we didn’t really stay on that deck too long. The boat is old so dont expect it to look like World yacht or the Bateaux. What really made the night special was out Waiter, Michael. He was truly awesome. He was friendly, attentive, hard-​working, and ensured that we had everything we needed. Michael made the night special. Please dont go on here if you’re expecting delicious food. Go only for the sights and if you want to dance while sailing around the NY waters. I doubt that I would go on the skyline again unless it’s for a party or wedding because it is quite pricey. I wouldn’t pay much to go on here just because i’m a Foodie and the food wasnt to my standards. I hope my review helps.

We could not have spent our parents 50^th anniversary in a more special way. Skyline Princess cruises provided our group of 20 with a delicious dinner with champagne, open bar dessert and music! The city views were unbelievable! The kids ages ranged from 9 – 17 and they all had a blast. the adult were from 30 – 75. The DJ truly caught the ambiance with the best music. the backdrop for our family pictures were priceless. Our parents said that they had the times of their lives with the people who mean the most to them while also doing something they have never done before and will never forget! the matre’d also came out on deck to take pictures of us so we could all the capture this special day. We cannot thank Pete and his crew enough for a time that our family will treasure for years to come.

A friend of mine decided to have her husband s Birthday Celebration aboard the Skyline Princess .We were a large group, I can say that the Service was as expected, no complaints really. The Food was just ok, nothing to really ride home about. The Entertainment was alright .The Skyline offers great views from the balconies. Overall everything worked out fine and everyone was satisfied.

We had my son’s Bar Mitzvah on the Skyline Princess — leaving from Flushing, NY and we couldn’t be happier! The staff from the planning stages until the last guest left were friendly and professional. They helped out above and beyond — and gave us great suggestions based on their experience… The food was great — and the boat was everything we could have hoped for! The DJ told us we didn’t have to buy favors for the kids, because the «boat is enough» and he was right!
We loved it & can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely awful customer service from a terribly run company. I booked a cruise well over a month ago for Valentine’s Day weekend. Then I am told FIVE days before hand that it is cancelled, PLUS the guy who called me had the nerve to tell me that they’ve known it has been cancelled for nearly a month.
Now I am stuck with everything else booked up and a hotel reservation in Queens that is completely useless but unable to be cancelled without a large fee.
If something terrible happened and you had to cancel, fine. But to know for a month and not tell me until five days before? You should be ashamed. Stay away from these guys. There are a lot of other cruise options in the city.

My school used the Skyline Princess for our end of the year party! What a party it was!
When you arrive at the Marina, there is a walk up to the boat that takes about 7 minutes. For me 10 minutes because I was wearing heels that weren’t chunky. I spent a lot of time dodging the opening that were in the boards. (I removed my shoes for the walk back after the boat ride. Next time I will wear wedges). It was chilly for a June evening, so we waited in a little bar that is near the boat.
We got off to a slightly rough start because a few of my coworkers were stuck in traffic. They were nice enough to wait for the latecomers and then the fun began. For $ 100 we had unlimited cocktails, dinner, and dessert. Well bring on the amaretto sours! The bartender was friendly and asked if he was making the drinks to our liking. Very, very good!
For our appetizer we had a tossed caesar salad. Perfectly dressed and it had a spicy bite to it! For the entrée it was buffet style. There was an assortment of mixed vegetables, potatoes, baked fish, and prime rib. There was a pasta dish as well. There was lots to choose from! Dessert was a choice of cheesecake, chocolate cake or carrot cake. Everyone was pleased with the selection. The coffee was wonderful too!
Upstairs there was an open dancing area. It had begun to rain and the boat was a little rocky. Let’s just say the Electric Slide was a bit more electrified with us sliding all over the place. I eventually took off my shoes and got in the groove! The music was good and the dj played a mix of different genres to keep the crowd moving. It was a bit humid and my hair went a little crazy but we all had a wonderful time!
We can’t wait for our next party on the Skyline Princess! We will definitely be back!

A group from my organization was invited to this cruise last Friday. We had a BLAST! The staff was wonderful, food was great and the drinks were strong! I really loved the DJ and Dance deck upstairs, and great views from the balconies. My favorite part of the evening was the dessert! The chocolate covered strawberries mixed with a glass of champagne made for a perfect finish to the evening!
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the most beautiful view of Manhattan and Lady Liberty!
