Sunny Eyelash Extension

2.75 stars. Came here with my mom a few months ago and we both had Sunny do our lashes. I thought my mom’s lashes were done nicely and she said it didn’t bother her (not heavy, didn’t burn or poke her eyes) and for once she actually left them on and let them fall off her their on instead of pulling them all off after a few days.
But now to my lashes… I didn’t think they were too special. I’ve had my lashes done a few times before so I knew they weren’t great. A lot of my own lashes weren’t extended, so they definitely could’ve been fuller but she told me that they were all done and I was fine with that since I didn’t need them super full. The worst part of the extensions for me was that every single extended lash that fell off took my own lash from the root with it. Being that I’ve had lashes done before I know my own would fall off too but I definitely didn’t expect that every single extended lash fallen would pull my own out so I’m still pretty lash naked even 2 months after initially getting them done. The lashes lasted a long time but they do twist and curl into one another but I was able to fix that by separating it myself everyday.

Great service super sweet ladies! They gifted me this Groupon for my birthday and I am so glad they chose this place. a bit far for me since I am all the way in the city! I never felt pressured into anything, unlike other eyelash places. Some lashes are falling off though and its only day 1!

I bought a groupon for their mink eyelash set and was excited to try mink instead of the regular ones I normally do. It was my first time so I wanted sunny, the owner, to do it for me however she already had a appointment which was fine. The assistant was really nice and made sure that I was comfortable the whole time.
The lashes came out nice but it doesn’t top the ones I get from aveda spa ! However it was well worth the money. She did a really well job applying it as the lashes barely fall out. It’s been almost month and I still have a decent amount still left. Next time I want to try sunny !

Bought a groupon. Ladies are nice. Lashes are ok for $ 40 but wouldn’t pay a penny more. Paid an extra $ 10 to upgrade to mink and I think they still have me Silk lashes anyway. These lashes are NOT soft– stiff, hard and crunchy. Two weeks later and I haven’t hardly lost any lashes… because I’m having an allergic reaction to the glue!!! Had my lashes done many times before and this never happened. Puffy, puss runny eyes on vacation

I’ve been coming to this salon for over a year, absolutely love my lashes every time. All of the ladies are super professional and friendly. It’s a very calming experience and the salon is always clean! I normally see Lydia but all of the ladies are great.

I think they are amazing. They do a good job. You pay for the great work but they are definitely worth it

I called the first time to make an appointment and the woman over the phone made the appointment for me. I called back a few days later to confirm the day of the appointment and time and the woman on the other end of the phone said there was no such appointment under my name and offered to make me a new appointment. When I went in it was empty (early in the morning around 10 AM) and the woman (I don’t remember her name) who did my lashes was extremely nice and the process itself was painless (the only reason this review got two stars instead of one). My lashes came out pretty nice however the next day the lashes started drooping down??? I’ve had lashes done in other places and this never happened! They told me it was free to remove my lashes there which I thought was great however when I tried calling in order to make an appointment to get them removed two weeks later it was IMPOSSIBLE to make an appointment!!! They would ask me what time and date I’m free and then say that doesn’t work for them. Looks like they just didn’t want to honor the «free» eyelash removal they offered.

If you would have asked me to review Sunny Eyelash four or five months ago, I would have given them five stars, but they have changed. This seems to be the typical progression from the «hidden jewel» to the go-​to place. It seems that as they’ve become more well known, the product has gone down hill. They also keep no record of what they did on your last visit, so each time, you have to educate a new employee.
Sunny Eyelash is not the first eyelash place I’ve gone to, as I’ve been doing this for three years on and off. My first few experiences were fabulous. My lashes were beautiful and lasted a long time. The last three times, not only did the job result in the lashes on the two eyes being uneven, but lashes began falling off within a week, and they were not from my own lashes shedding. They were just a glue failure and I do not use any oily products, nor do I rub my eyes. This last time, several lashes were glued to my eyelid rather than a lash. The topper was that the girl obviously had glued some part of my eyelid to the point that it took her a full ten minutes dabbing my eyelid with whatever they use to loosen glue. Maybe it was the constant interruption of her phone ringing.
Sunny, you need to make sure your employees are properly trained and your products need to return to the high level they were before. Get your game on or you’ll continue to lose your business to other up and coming eyelash salons.

I have been coming here for about half year and are very pleased with the outcomes. I have been to many different eyelash extension places and this is one of the best on my list. Sunny who is the owner does a wonderful job and she is very fast. I also love Ashley who is the assistant. I used to only have Sunny do my lashes, but now i go to Ashley as well. The place is very neat and clean which is another plus.

If you want great looking eyelash extensions, this is your place! I was recommended by my cousin since she’s been to a few other places and I was very satisfied with their work. I get compliments all the time about how great my eye lashes look. I go back there regularly to get refills, and I’m always happy with the result.

As far as the extensions go, they are okay. They look nice the first week but look very noticeably fake after the second week because the corner lashes always fall off first. I’m writing this review after a bad experience with a groupon. The first time I used a ($ 40 faux mink lashes) groupon everything went fine. I went back 3 months later to use another groupon ($ 40 silk lashes) and it wasn’t until AFTER everything was already done and I had given a $ 10 tip that they told me I couldn’t use a groupon again (I notified them when I made the appointment that I was using a groupon and gave my name and #). On the groupon it says limit 1 PER VISIT. So I used one during my first visit… and planned on using another on my second visit three months later. They told me they couldn’t accept my groupon because I already used one months prior and that I had to pay full price ($ 80). I was the last customer and they were closing since it was 8pm, they told me to call customer service to get my money back and that I could wait there while I called. I called and it was almost a 2 hour wait to speak with a groupon representative. Desperate to get out of there, I offered to give them $ 40 cash and also use the groupon since the total would be $ 80. They told me they couldn’t accept that because groupon takes 50% and I would have to give $ 60 to make up for the fact that groupon takes their portion (how is that my problem!!!). Frustrated and annoyed I gave them $ 60, the groupon, and completely forgot about the $ 10 tip which I should have taken back. So for an $ 80 service I paid $ 110, it’s only the 2^nd week and I’ve lost about 15 lashes on each eye. Never going back here.

The store is very clean and comfort.
I highly recommend the technician Lydia. she is the best.
She has a professional skills and she always give you a smile.
I haven’t been disappointed yet. While, I’m going to the other state,
but, if i have chances come back or stop by the city, definitely come here again!

Its the worst experience ever. The technician was Lydia. She had no experience making things easier. My eyes were itchy and burning and she made sarcastic comments telling me that it isn’t my first time. Then she said, are you sensative. Had a very unprofessional demeanor. I also smelled a garlicky odor from her that went into my nose. The lashes I picked were silk but didn’t feel like silk. She rushed. I had them done in 40 minutes. I feel like I got ripped off.

It has now been about 3 weeks since I got my extensions and they are still hanging on strong. I was a little worried because two eyelashes fell off the next day, but the next 2 weeks, only one or two fell off. They actually looked BETTER and more natural with less lashes so I didn’t mind when they fell off haha. There’s still a few lashes clinging on but still very noticeable and still get lots of compliments even after 3 weeks! I don’t think I’ll be get extensions again though because washing my face was a pain.

I’ve been coming here regularly for over a year and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants beautiful, natural looking lashes. I always make an appointment with Sunny and haven’t been disappointed yet. She’s fast, courteous and professional and I’m usually in and out within an hour. The hour includes removing what I have left from the previous time and applying a new set. With proper care, my lashes last up to 4 weeks, so that’s a huge plus. I love this place and have recommended it to quite a few of my friends. If you’re looking for a clean, professional place for eyelash extensions, then this definitely the place for you.

I have my own go-​to eyelash salon in Whitestone but my lady was on vacation and I was going on vacation myself so I needed a new place to go in the meantime. Ended up here, really did not want to pay $ 80 for a full set but I was desperate and had called about 8 other places which were all booked up.
Everyone keeps talking about Sunny but pretty sure she was not the one doing my lashes.
My girl asked me what length I wanted and I told her. She told me that was too long for me and they were going to look very fake. She suggested a shorter length which told me would look better. It took about an hour which is average for a full set, but I was very disappointed when I got up from the table. First of all she didn’t even give me a mirror so I had to get up and walk to the bathroom to look. They were not very noticeable at all. Too short, almost the length of my natural lashes. I’m actually not a very picky person at all but if she would’ve just done the length I asked her for in the first place I’d probably be happy. It’s always upsetting paying almost $ 100 (with tip) to not get what u were looking for. And for this reason I won’t go back or recommend anyone to go there

OK I didn’t want to write a review for this place so I can keep it a secret. Unfortunately I’m feeling a little generous and so I will share with you all about my secret place.
Sunny’s is a no frills eyelash extension place operated by a Korean Chinese lady and her (also Korean-​Chinese) assistant. Not the most amazing space (in a weird office building), but it gets the job done. Fairly sanitary.
$ 80 for lashes, $ 40 for touchups within 2 weeks, $ 60 for within three weeks. My eyelashes looked great for three weeks (a little sparse, but still better than normal). Which is pretty great, because I’ve gotten eyelash extensions in the past that have looked terrible by week two and they cost even more than this… I’m guessing you could even stretch them to four weeks, but does it really matter? With the pricing, if you’re getting them consistently, it’s still going to cost you the same.
They will answer the phone in Korean, but they take reservations in Korean, Chinese, or English, so don’t be freaked out when you call.
It takes a little over an hour to get a full set in. I’ve had Sunny’s assistant both times and I have been pleased with my lashes. I did have Sunny do part of one eye and I honestly cannot tell the difference. Maybe one day I’ll luck out and get Sunny to do my lashes.
Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trek out to Flushing for me.

First time trying out lash extension and this place did a such a great job. Natural medium length, mink lashes. Very natural and stay on my lashes for a long period of time. The specialist recommended to fill my lashes after three weeks but they lasted more than a month. Very much recommended.

I enjoyed going to Sunny Eyelash extension more so over places that do lash extensions in the city because:
1. This place is clean and Sunny (the owner and technician) doesnt have a bunch of untrained technicians doing lashes, just her and her assistant.
2. Moderately priced. other places in Manhattan can range from $ 120 and up for the same quality of work.
3. Its small but cozy so you have privacy to do your lashes (very low key spot) and its not women laying all around piled on top of each other like some sort of eyelash farm. Plus this make for less rushing and more attentiveness.
4. The parking lot directly downstairs has fair prices as do the others around the area.
5. Sunny is very friendly, which always makes for good service.
6. If you live in Queens, you arent going to get better than this.
My experience here was pleasant… my first appointment, I had a hard time finding this place, I had to get out of my car and read the addresses one-​by-​one and I called to be clear I was in the right spot. This also made me about 20 mins late but Sunny didn’t seem bothered by that at all. I also had to figure out how this place was set-​up because the building is shared by other businesses inside and you will be doing a lot turning down halls and door opening before you arrive. This place is also by appointment only, so make sure you arent trying to get last minute lashes. She might be booked.
Overall my lashes were really nice and dramatic but not too crazy where I didn’t recognize myself. After 3 weeks and my eyes being irritated (from severe allergies) it was very noticeable that I needed a touch-​up. Other than that, my first and second week, I may have saw about 5 to 7 lashes lost over time. I was able to wash my face and rinse in the shower without a significant loss to my lashes. They didn’t hurt or bruise my eyelids from glue being all over the place. I would recommend but here and there, after all… Sunny may be Queens best kept secret!
Also bring cash! No credit here! And some headphones perhaps because its very quiet in here and you may find yourself falling asleep during the process! I took away a star because its a bit of an effort to get there (Flushing isnt very vehicle friendly) and its very small inside… and although there are parking lots, you WILL NOT FIND PARKING ON THE STREET. Not happening…
