Stopped by ToyQube today to see that the store was empty and closed. Sad because it was one of my favorite places to visit in Flushing: plenty of odd toys to browse through while enjoying tons of exciting bubble tea flavors. And let’s not forget about Popioca, the Tapioca of the Future.
RIP ToyQube! I hope you come back to us somehow!

Cool and unusual place; it’s where you can buy vinyl toys and drinks in one place… SAY WHAT?
They have vinyl toys mostly from Kidrobot, but they also have Tokidoki and others. They are a little overpriced by a dollar or two, but I guess it’s okay since it saves you a trip from going to SoHo.
They also sell cool looking keychains, cell phone charms and Essie nail polish for cheap (only $ 5 each).
As for their drinks, you MUST try their Iced Cappuccino with coffee jelly! The coffee tastes really good. The coffee jelly is fun to chew and is a good combination with the cappuccino. As for the downside, it’s little bit on the pricey side though. Medium costs $ 3 and the large is $ 3.50, but trust me, it’s worth it. For every drink you purchase, you get a stamp and for every ten stamps you get a free drink. Yeah, not the best deal in the world but it’s better than nothing, right?

Located beside Udu, they have a wide smattering of different toys and more, but still not the ones I’m looking for. Very wide range of things, too, some animé and some Simpsons and US toys, but not as big or as broad as expected in the selection of even what they did have, although from a serious collector’s point-​of-​view, this is a three-​star place (though not as good as the places in the city, sometimes you just don’t want to drive into the city, just as Angel H. notes).
Plus, oddly enough there’s a bubble tea and light snack bar in the back. Will have to try that later.
Only real downer is that they close so early, we finished dinner and came back around, they were closed.

Just when you thought you knew it all, along comes a store you’ve never heard of. I didn’t even know Toy Cube existed. Well, that’s all changed now. If I’m in the area and have the time, you bet I’m gonna be dropping by this shop more often.
It’s true that the toys are a dollar more than the collector stores in the city. It’s also true that they don’t have more variety than the downtown businesses. Guess that’s the price you pay for not traveling into Manhattan. The salesperson told me a lot of the store’s clientele comes from Long Island. Still, just another reason for why Queens is sometimes cooler than Brooklyn. Not only is the borough a true melting pot, they have little charms like this place.
Too bad the automated kitty piggy band was $ 35 dollars, otherwise I’ve would’ve brought that in a heartbeat. Press the button, and a meow sound comes on. Then out of the box is half of a kitten’s face, a paw swipes your coin, and it was that cute. Sometimes it sucks to have responsibilities.
Most of the urban vinyl toys here are for serious collectors, not really for children, but more teen and up. Better known as the store for adults that never grew up. Yeah, I’m one of those. Most of the brands they carry are Dunnys, Kubrick Be@rbricks, miniature Blythe dolls, a few bobble heads, Tokidoki. It mostly caters to the designer Japanese brands, and there’s no horror-​related items such as Living Dead Dolls. Although I did see a Ron English item in the display case. Of all the brands I’ve listed, most of them come in those blind «surprise» boxes. My first purchase here was a blind Gamera box.
Other information you should know about; they have bubble tea to replace the drool you’ve lost looking at toys you can’t afford. The bubble tea isn’t the greatest, but it’ll pacify your friend who doesn’t appreciate the slightly post-​retro Rave vibe. Oh, and it’s a ten dollar minimum on credit cards.
I’ve read the other reviews here, and yeah, if I was a more serious collector I would see their point. I’m just not as rabid as some others that I’ve known. As a matter of fact, I’ve kinda stopped collecting for a number of reasons. Responsibilities is something I’ve already mentioned. Finding space for these toys is another factor. I have no desire to be on that television show «Hoarders.» Since I like living in a clutter free house and mind, something’s gotta give. However, if eBay has screwed you over for the umpteenth time, Amazon is too pricey, and comic cons are not your thing, get off the computer and get some fresh air for a change by visiting this place.

When I first heard about them, I went to check it out and I loved it. All the vinyl toys and figures, huge selection of blind boxes, lots of nice stuff on display, and all this right in Flushing. No more traveling to the city to buy blind boxes. I quickly signed up for their email list to find out about new releases and events. But just as quickly, everything went downhill. Some employees don’t even help you out or care. You want to know about release dates, they just guess and don’t even look it up. The items sold here are slightly more expensive (usually by $ 1 or so). They are constantly sold out of items that everyone wants. Why not figure out the demand and get more supply? You make more money that way! And when they do have what you want, most of the blind boxes are low in stock and they won’t open a new case until all of the ones on display are bought up. WTF! Keep restocking and people will keep coming back to buy more to get the rare figures. Kidrobot already has the whole strategy figured out… Just do what they do. There are a lot of unique figures on display in the cases. Why not sell them? People will pay good money for them and the displays will constantly change which draws people back to look at the new items. Why can’t pre-​orders be taken in the store? I am always told to reserve online. What’s so hard about me reserving it when I’m right in front of you? Fine, I’ll do it online then. Suddenly, the release dates for my items keep getting pushed back. When am I ever going to get the items I reserved? Tsk tsk. There is bubble tea here. I tried the popioca (they are liquid filled tapioca balls that pop in your mouth) drinks. Ugh. Why would you do this to me? I basically threw a full cup of the drink away (It was a recommended drink too). Now, I avoid it. Be warned!
I really like the place and I want them to succeed. I just hope they fix some of the problems they have. I’m a loyal fan and follower from the beginning but I am losing faith…
PS — Please have more release events, trading events, and artist signings!

I guess I was a little harsh last time. The owner is a pretty nice guy. Very helpful. The release date problem is not always their fault. Sometimes it’s the manufacturers that need to get their stuff together and ship it on time!

Unique in style and selection. This store is somewhat a combination of all the big Japan brands like Kidrobot and more coming all together. The store itself is pretty small, situated in a shady street of Flushing, NY. It’s a really cool place if you’re into small things like keychains and tiny stuffed dolls. All in blind boxes. The more you buy, the more chance you have of getting what you want. Then there’s those people that collect the entire collection for $ 300.
Cool place, place where you’d probably buy a little gift for your girlfriend but crazy expensive if a small blind box costs $ 5 – 7.

Dear ToyQube:
I like ya, you’re a cool place, but it’s hard for me to shop here because…
1. Whenever there’s a new series release, you’re always fresh out. Sigh, this happens 100% of the time when Derrick L. and I come in to inquire about new Dunnys and this & that. Honestly, it’s a bit disappointing so I stop trying.
2. When you’re NOT out of stock, the boxes are usually slightly pricier than the stores in the city. Is this what happens when I try to save time & energy? So whatever I don’t spend on transportation to get to the further places, I make up for it by paying extra here. Um… I don’t know, mang…
I do have to hand it to you that you have very unique selections here that cannot be found elsewhere, especially the asian toys. And you have cool events that’s setup and invited thru facebook group page. But the store staff in real life is usually quite cold… must be the Asian way…

If your into the modern day american/​animé art. this would be the place! It also has bubble tea! It’s one of the few stores you have to appreciate. Due to the fact that we don’t have many in NYC. The figures can be quite pricey. But, hey art is never cheap! I def. would recommend anyone around flushing to pay a visit. *slurp*

I love Toy Cube! I think it’s one of my favorite stores in Flushing!
I am a huge Munny and Tokidoki person. They have a great selection.
It’s also a fun place to look if you’re waiting on line for the neighboring hot pot place.

ToyQube has great vinyl and plushies. Ton’s of blindboxes to choose from. They have lots of pre-​painted stuff but I would like more d.i.y. to choose from.
Bubble tea was very tasty, but the popioca is not for me.
Only the main floor was open when we stopped in. Overall a very cool spot, i would go again for sure.

I like to stop in ToyQube whenever I’m in Flushing because they have a great selection of adult toys. No, not that kind of toy. I’m talking collectible vinyl figurines, blind boxes, and plushes from kidrobot, tokidoki, medicom and much more, including ToyQube’s own line. I love that they have a lot of gloomy bear toys and yummy breakfast plushes (my favorites!). I’m also fond of ToyQube because they had this one plush that I was having trouble tracking down elsewhere. The staff is really nice and helpful, especially if you’re looking for a particular item.
There’s a café in the back that serves flavored teas and milk teas. Their milk tea is pretty average and you can definitely find better in Flushing. But one thing they have that other milk tea places don’t is «popioca» which is gusher-​like tapioca balls that have flavors inside (your choice of passion fruit, chocolate, or yogurt). If that sounds appealing, it’s definitely worth a try. I won’t be ordering from their café again, but the toys at ToyQube are enough for me to stop in.
If you live in the city, you can probably find the selection at ToyQube in other stores (kidrobot, myplasticheart, giant robot, etc) but if you’re already in Flushing, you should definitely check out ToyQube.

I’m basically the same kid I was over 20 years ago with one major difference, my toys got more expensive! That being said, I LOVE designer vinyl toys! I came across this place during a trip to Flushing and am in love.
ToyQube has a great selection of blind boxes (the ones where you have a 1 in 20 chance of getting the actual figurine you want), larger vinyl toys, and an assortment of small plushies! They have the main staples like Kidrobot and Tokidoki but even really obscure ones that I have never seen outside of Tokyo. Also a decent selection of Gloomy Bear toys. The walls are lined with a large selection of custom designs and limited editions which I’m pretty sure are for sale as well. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s pretty awesome just to check out the art.
My only complaint is that the prices are a bit steep but you’d have a hard time finding some of these figurines anywhere else.

My friend who is a friend of the owner Keith… brought me to the grand opening party. It was GREAT! The store is unexpectedly big inside,…it’s got 3 floors… basement is a lounge with dj and bar… first floor is toys… and 2^nd floor is apparel. I love to just lounge here and drink the bubble tea… but I always end up spending all my money here haha

I first went to this place with my boyfriend. We were talking about bubble tea and he brought up ToyQube. When he realized that i’ve never gone there and had their popioca, he insisted that we go after work.
I walked into the store and couldn’t help but buy some of the adorable keychains that they have to offer. What surprised me was that they had Tokidoki and KidRobot items. Usually you would have to go to SoHo to get all that. They have tons of cute collectibles, vinyl toys, plushies, etc. Although their bubble tea may not be up to par with Ten Rens, their popioca is still something fun to have when you don’t exactly want tapioca. Their items range from cheap to pricey. Definitely a place i’m going to go to again, especially for cute keychains.

This is truly a hidden gem amongst the crowded and dirty stores in Flushing. My friend took me here because he wanted me to try their special «pop pearls». I ended up getting an icy mango milk tea with yogurt flavoured pop pearls.
It’s different from the regular tapioca pearls, and it’s like the fish eggs but filled with sweet/​sour syrup. (Probably a lot of calories but interesting experience nonetheless).
I was also browsing the store racks when they were preparing my drink (~$ 3.50 for a large 16 oz?, not bad compared to CA prices)… the toys are definitely interesting, some collector series.
In addition, the seating area is very clean and neat, different from all the surrounding shops. I will definitely come back here again. :)

This place is pretty cool. Its like kidrobot in queens for those who are too lazy to get on the train to go to the city. It also has bubble tea and a sitting area with signs that state specifically its for ppl who order drinks and food, and not for ppl who are squatting.
They carry a lot of toys kidrobot does, so for me it doesn’t exactly impress me or cause me to go screaming about. It carries blind boxes which is always fun for me. I do like the selection of Tokidoki jewelry it has. It does have a lot of interesting stuff for you to look at and stickers galore. Who knew Mario was having a comeback?
My friend from Taiwan came back with keychains that looked and smelled like bakery items. Low and behold! This store carries it too! Complete with signs asking you not to eat it. Its a cool store for those in queens who don’t want to go to Manhattan.

My favorite place for vinyl anywhere! I love the location on Prince St. and you can get some great authentic chinese food after shopping at Toy Qube.
The selection of vinyl is great, probably the best in all of NYC. The owner Keith is a really nice guy and always helpful. They sell different drinks and the popioca tea is amazing.
Definately worth the drive or 7 train ride out to Flushing.

They’ve left their corner retail space in the Flushing Mall for a newly renovated store-​front location on Prince. It has a great new layout and design and more space to showcase and sell those vinyl toys. ToyQube also has a numerous selection of those addicting blind boxes.
What’s great about the new location is that they’ve included a small café with a good amount of seating and very reasonably priced milk tea drinks (especially compared to the vinyl toys, heh). What’s best of all is that they have this new topping for the boba called «popioca.» Remember those Gushers fruit snacks growing up? They’re just like that where they burst in your mouth but with the consistency of regular tapioca. It’s apparently the only place that has them in the area (in the country? Can anyone vouch for this stuff in California?), so if you aren’t into vinyl toys, but love boba, then you have to try it.
Anyway, the staff is very friendly, and the trek to Flushing is worth it.

Get your giant chicken drumstick pillows while they’re hot! This shop also sells large mahjong tile pillows, sushi pillows, Chupa Chups pillows and lots of cell phone charms (about $ 5) including mahjong tiles, sushi, soft serve ice cream cones, popsicles, fried eggs, bananas, hamburgers and Poo Poo Bear. I didn’t see any cupcakes and most of the food items aren’t Chinese food, but I bet they’ll get those in some day.

Not surprisingly, they also sell tissue box covers, CD cases and luggage tags. They have Gloomy Bear merchandise and tofu memo pads. Love love love this impractical store.
