Ultimate Champions Tae Kwon Do

I have only visited the school based on my child’s activity at this school. My child is not an active student at this school. This review is based on my observations of the school.
Northern Blvd is a busy street. Parking in the area is tough, but when you pay the meter, it is easy. It’s an oddly shaped school but the Master really owns his space. He successfully uses all the space. I have view the training of advance students, and its no joke. He’s tough, but the results are seen in the quality of these students. He has quite the modern office. It is a full plexiglass office. The school is always clean. The school has a full schedule that is clearly presented in the waiting room. It’s a large waiting to accommodate a lot of parents. The school provides a full schedule of activities.

Master Rho, Instructor Dobie, and the other instructors at this facility are amazing and do a great job with instilling discipline, respect, and confidence. I have been sending my kids here for close two years (including their previous location) and they enjoy learning and practicing Tae Kwon Do at the school and at home.
My little one was very shy when she started. At 6 years old now, she has a green tip belt and speaks confidently with adults and other kids. During the most recent class, she admitted on her own that she needed help with one of the sequences and asked for help from one of the instructors. This was a big step for her and I remember that not too long ago, she would not have been able to do this without crying.
The kids that go to this school definitely learn about Tae Kwon Do, discipline and respect. As a parent, there is always a great sense of pride when your child accomplishes or learns something new. I get this feeling every time, I watch my kids perform in class. I highly recommend this facility.

I was introduced to Champions TKD through my colleague who has been talking non-​stop about how great their TKD program is. I had been told me that Master Michael Ro and his instructors were dedicated and were the best in the business. my co-​worker wasn’t lying. It has been over a year now that i joined Champions TKD and i wish i had joined earlier. I am in the best shape of my life! Not only do they treat you with respect, but they also treat you like you’re a part of their family.

One Sunday afternoon I was walking along Northern Blvd on the way to pick up my car from the Mechanic. I happen to walk by Ultimate Champions Tae Kwon Do when they were at their smaller previous location just before summer of 2014. Summer was approaching fast and I was looking for a summer activity that would keep my 4 and 7 year old boys busy but to focus their energy in a more positive manner.
At first site it looks like chaos and one wonders is this really an organized disciplined environment as the students enter to prepare to take their class. As I continued my observations I see the students entering and bowing yelling «Hello Sir» and «Hello Ma’am.» Students were piling in and warming up while taking their appropriate positions eager to learn. I am thinking to myself wow these kids must be veterans since they are so disciplined. I mean we are talking about 4 year olds filing in position with minimum to no direction necessary smiling ready to go. Then I realized that they are white belts which is the beginning of their journey in learning their techniques and mastering the art of Tae Kwon Do.
After watching the session for 45 minutes I decided to enroll both of my boys for an annual plan. If you can afford it the numbers make sense. Eager and excited they both imagined that they would be fighting bad guys in no time! First day of class they showed up in their normal street clothes. They were introduced to the class and were briefed on the basic rules as well as briefed on the importance of respect, discipline and the purpose of learning TKD to protect themselves and others that are unable to. Once they had acknowledged this responsibility they were presented with their uniforms at the end of the session. Quiet impressive for a first session as the kids were talking about it over dinner to make sure they had a clear picture This was the clear indicator to me that they had the Master’s and instructor’s attention and respect.. I mean hey what 4 or 7 year old would want to challenge Master Rho and his team! :-)
Since then the school has moved to rather larger and impressive location which doesn’t compare to some of the other schools that I have seen in the past. New equipment, mats and a video system that would allow you to watch your child while they are in practice so you don’t distract them. Typically after each session my kids come and practice their techniques take their uniforms off with respect and put them away in preparation for their next class.
The school has a reward system which acknowledges a student’s efforts in school, home and efforts at the UCTKD School! Geesshhh what a motivator! These kids are constantly looking for ways to earn Blue Cards (given when they perform excellent in TKD class) Red Cards (given when they perform excellence in school for tests and letters from their teachers) Yellow Cards (given for excellence at home.) Now on the flip side if they do not perform well in school, home or TKD practice the Master and instructors step in to reinforce the importance of behavior, studies and respecting others as an example. It’s interesting how they take more of a big bother/​sister approach and not a parental approach.
I kid you not Master Rho and his team will apply pressure because they know your child can do it and let’s face it there will be times when your child will be in a pressured situation and will need to know how to handle it. I have seen my children mature partly based on the teachings and environment that UCTKD creates. I am a big believer in one that surrounds themselves with positive energy will grow and influence others in the same way.
Since our kiddos started they have a great new location and have expanded their offerings. They now offer birthday parties (the kid’s favorite with the cutting of the cake with a sword), kickboxing classes and Yoga. I believe they are offering an after school program as well but not sure of the details.
Hands down I know that there are other schools out there but based on our experience with Master Rho and his team they have been amazing. I felt that it was justified to take the time to write this review as not doing so would be a great injustice! Keep up the excellent work UCTKD team!!!

This Taekwondo place is really good. Master Rho is a dedicated master. Not only did I learn Taekwondo, I also learned confidence, discipline, respect and to never quit. I highly recommend this place. :)

Best master in the world! Master Rho gives children confidence & self esteem! Helpful instructors and staff are always on standby to help children focus on training. They are awesome! You don’t ever have to worry about your children running around in a unsanitary dojang since Master Rho, instructors, and staff are cleaning the dojang sparkle clean every day! There’s always fun events going on at Flushing UCTA such as, birthday parties! Sleep overs! Game nights! Special holiday parties held here for your children so parents can go out and have a time for them selves for once! And much more! Best tkd school in the world!

What more can I say?
My kids are State, Regional and National Champions.

I was introduced to Champion’s TaeKwonDo through a colleague’s recommendation, and I’m sure glad she did! My two nephews have been attending this fine school for a little over three years, and they absolutely love it. The head master, Master Rho, is a great mentor to my nephews. He is professional, dedicated, and very knowledgeable. The other staff members are also exceptionally polite, and are great role models to my little boys. Great school with reasonable pricing and class sizes. Highly recommend++

Love them here! My niece and nephew has been attending this school for almost a year now and they absolutely love it! It keeps them active and the staff is nothing short of exceptional. They’re great with kids and adults alike. If you’re interested in martial arts or an after school activity for your children, definitely sign up for uc taekwondo. You will not be disappointed!

Found this through groupon and liked it because of the location and a class I watched through a window. The rating is because the adult class isn’t what I expected and only had two others in there.

We found this TKD school through a groupon a few months ago. And boy are we glad we did. Master Rho and Instructor Dobie who are the primary instructors work very well together to teach the various levels the discipline of TKD. I have witnessed my children flounder around having no idea what they were doing to becoming more confident and excited about learning TKD. Watching my children breaking boards during their yellow belt test really made my heart swell with pride, but even better, i could see in their faces the confidence that UCTA promises to deliver.
My wife and I began participating in the adult class, and we are clearly the oldest ones in the class, but it’s been a lot of fun. TKD isn’t only for little kids, so if you want to get in shape, learn some self-​defense, and gain some discipline come join us you won’t be disappointed.

Sent my little cousin there a few months ago and he loves it, everyone there are really friendly and as well as the instructors. Master Roh is professional in what he does and its a great experience for my cousin.
Flushing Champions Tae Kwon Do is a really great school! & also sessions are affordable and reasonable, they’re also on groupon, which is GREAT !!
