Folsom Smog Test Only did a great job on my smog test for a very competitive price. They were very friendly, professional, and dog-​friendly, and did my check quickly.

The owners here are so friendly! Quick service with great conversation while I waited. I have a breathalyzer in my car and it tends to be embarrassing dealing with when getting my car worked on, but the people were so nice and accommodating with it! Will definitely be recommending them to others and won’t be going anywhere else!

These guys are the best in the biz! Best price, no hidden fees (other shops charge you to send test to the dmv when in reality it gets sent anyways but they don’t tell you that), quick, and extremely friendly. If you are thinking of going anywhere else but here think again because there isn’t a better place than Folsom Smog. Thank you guys for being such an upstanding business!

Great customer service, friendly and family owned business. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes and the price was great with their online coupons. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We were in and out in 15 minutes. Used online coupon which makes their prices a pretty good deal. Very convenient, they were awesome. Don’t forget to air up your tires prior to getting a smog check. They offer free recheck but we didn’t need it. Will definitely return for our other cars.

I moved to Folsom in April 2014 and I wish I knew about this place then. After getting the run around from a couple places wanting $ 65 and up for smog check in June 2014, I decided to use Speedee which was around $ 40 (by far the cheapest I could find at the time). Speedee also kept my truck running for over 2 hours while they ran the test. WTF?
I decided to sell my truck in March 2015, and I needed to get a smog check to sell it privately. While I was cleaning my car at the DIY place next to Folsom Smog, I walked over and asked about pricing and such. $ 20 (with coupon they gave me) and 20 minutes later I was done! Why did I not get referred here when I asked around in 2014? I wish this place would come up first on Google?
If you need to get a smog check… LOOK NO FURTHER! Honest and sincere staff too!

The owners here are awesome! I have been going here for my last 3 smogs and every time it passes. They have been insightful when it comes to helping you with your car and smog. They are always quick and great customer service. Would not go anywhere else and I recommend to all my friends and family and to anyone who wants a great experience.

Stopped by this morning around 8:10 and two other guys were still waiting for the shop to open. So I left. Maybe I’ll try again in two years.

This is my second visit here for smog (multiple vehicles). The wait is short and it’s a no frills smog shop. The staff is friendly enough and you can use a coupon. I highly recommend this place over the other smog station on Prairie city and blue ravine. They have magazines, plays Law and Order SVU on the TV and water!!! Will be back for other cars.

Worst smog place around. Horrible customer service and terrible attitude from owner and staff. Avoid this place like the plague. They do not treat there customers with respect or with kindness. Greedy, unprofessional attitude and terrible business. Do not go here! Horrible horrible horrible business!

I was told by my «car guy dad» he brings all his cars to the smog shop next to the car wash by Folsom City Hall. So far I’ve used this shop (4) times and every time was a pleasant experience. The prices are fair, the lady in the office is organized and keeps things moving, the young man out in the shop is quick and knows his stuff :-) I live in Sacramento and I gladly make the drive to Folsom when I need a SMOG. Go here, you will like the shop. (if you go on Tuesday, I recommend you walk next door for the awesome dollar street tacos)

Very friendly and helpful staff. I was able to walk in without an appointment and got in and out in under 30 minutes. I’ll be back for sure.

After waiting at Smog N Go for ages, I determined there had to be another place in Folsom to have my car smogged. Lo and behold, I found this place thanks to trusty Unilocalers. No wait at all; the woman at the front desk gave me advice to use a coupon from their website and saved me 20%.
Its pretty interesting reading the negative information here. It says more about the individual reviewer than it does about the business itself.

All these reviews lie. The customer service is awful here and they have lost my business permanently. The woman at the front had no idea how to work at this business let alone any business on earth. The wait was unbelievable and unless you know the woman working don’t count on being in and out. I waited my turn just to have her «friends» go in front of me. She talks more than she works and is horrible at her job. A woman came in two customers behind me and was in and out before I even got helped just because the lady working there goes to the womans family restaurant. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

I have came to this shop exclusively for the past 5 years with several vehicles, including this one, and have never failed or had any issues.
This vehicle failed for having a «modified/​tampered aftermarket exhaust without carb or oe stickers». I was told I failed because the exhaust manifold looked different than the rest of the exhaust because it was clean while the rest was dirty.
I did a head job a few years back on this vehicle and had the exhaust manifold welded to help fix a very small crack that was forming. Apparently this set off alarms in this guy. He claimed that the exhaust manifold wasn’t stock and I had to prove it wasn’t aftermarket. How do you prove that the parts on your car are original?
I think this young buck is new and feeling cocky and doesn’t know that this vehicle came with a tubular exhaust manifold. I’m sure he’s just doing his job, but I think he needs to realize that he doesn’t know everything. He claims he knows it isn’t stock because he has been looking to get a vehicle like mine.
I’ve talked to 2 different car techs and both say it is factory. So I either have to replace my exhaust manifold for about $ 300-​$ 400 so there is some kind of number on it, or pay an exhaust guy to stamp some number on it, or pay the factory to smog it. I’m out money either way because this guy «knows it isn’t stock because he’s been looking at cars like this».

After talking with a mechanic and a smog tech friend I discovered the source of the problem.
The technician saw some signs that led him to believe that the exhaust manifold was not originally part of the car because of it’s color. He noticed welds on it from some work I had done to fix an exhaust leak and he was unfamiliar with this make and model of vehicle. Because the exhaust manifold is tubular (un-​common) it led him to believe this was a modified or aftermarket part.
I explained to him that it most definitely was original and he offered to do some research to verify it was indeed original. After determining it was original, I had no problems passing smog.
I understand the technician’s concern: If I happen to be a secret shopper from the State and I slip something by him, that’s his personal fine plus he has to spend even more money to retake smog classes plus the shop gets hit with a fine. 2 of those and you are done being a smog tech.

We were going to take our specialty vehicle there but after speaking to a female who identified herself as the owner, we couldn’t get away from there fast enough. She was very rude, short and curt with me. I guess she was upset because a «new employee» tried to help us and gave us the wrong information, but she called us back with an attitude, and there is just no excuse. What a grumpy lady! I feel bad for the «new employee» we originally spoke with. Believe me, there are cheaper smog centers in the area, and you will be treated better… what a concept!

Lady was slightly rude to me n the phone. I wanted to now how much the Smog was and she cut me of as was speaking. Then she was very short with me and seemed annoyed by my questions. Not a huge deal but I might have been a customer otherwise. Meh…
Bottom line, $ 65 without coupon, expensive compared to Rancho Cordova Smog shops.

I love this place. They are honest and try to get you in and out as fast as possible. They also can renew your registration on the spot for a $ 25 fee (with or without a smog test). Basically what that means is that you can use them like a DMV without the line.
Look online for a coupon!
