Found their office through the help of Unilocal and I could not be happier! I was able to set up an appointment request through their user friendly website, and received within a day to confirm an appointment time. Further more, they sent you the initial paperwork to fill out online so you didn’t have to come early to do it at the office. A convenient touch.
When I arrived at my first appointment, I got a walk through of the office and a personal introduction to every staff member. Throughout my check up and cleaning I never felt uncomfortable, or lectured, like I have at previous dentist offices. And all the staff was extremely friendly.
Furthermore, this office also offers Invisalign! So when I expressed my concerns of my teeth moving post braces, they got a quote for Invisalign and confirmed with my insurance, all while I was getting my cleaning.
All in all, so far nothing but great experiences with this office and I highly recommended if you’re new to the area or just looking for a more approachable dental team!

From the moment you arrive, the office staff are warm and inviting. Dr. Chen is super nice and he has kindly repaired damage done to my teeth by a previous dentist. I’ve never had to wait, they remember everything from the previous appointment and everything is done professionally. I like the early 7am options for appointments. I don’t think my hygienist, Kitty, is a real person though. I think she’s sent directly from God to Dr. Chen’s office just for my appointments to take careful care of my teeth. My thanks to all the staff for all the great work!

I love Dr. Chen and this dental group. They are so friendly and sweet and everyone makes a point to come say hi when I come in. Best customer service! I’ve had to interact with every single person that works there and they are all so nice and go out of their way to make you feel special. And Dr. Chen is definitely a perfectionist which I love because I know things are being done the right way! I definitely recommend this dentist to anyone who is feeling nervous about picking a good dentist in Folsom!

Dr. Chen has been our dentist for 18 years now and we absolutely think he’s the best dentist around. What makes him and his staff the best you may ask? I’ll tell you and thanks for asking. First… his dental hygienist are gentle but thorough and always friendly. Next… his office staff is first rate. They are very personable, accommodating and caring. They help in any way they can with filing insurance claims and answering questions… and did I mention that they have freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies to munch on before or after your appointment… YUM! Lastly a little something about Dr. Chen himself. I’m a total and complete chicken when it comes to any type of drill coming towards me. He provides distraction with a hand held radio armed with Pandora. I crank that puppy up as loud as I can and lay back with a pair of sunglasses on my face (provided by Dr.) and try to go to a happy place. He is quick, gentle, thorough, patient and a perfectionist which is pretty awesome when you remember that your smile is pretty much the most important feature (next to your eyes and nose of course) and can instantly brighten your face. Thank you so much Dr. Chen and staff for taking such good care of me!

Recently moved and was referred to Dr Chen by a current, long term patient. Had both a cleaning and a several old amalgam fillings replaced.
All of the work was done expertly and painlessly. I also appreciated being able to work with the front desk staff on my insurance to understand how much the procedures would cost.

I just want to update my review and say how happy I am to have found dr Chen and his wonderful staff! dr chen is gentle and patient and seems very meticulous. i had my first filling today, I was VERY nervous but dr Chen and his asst were both wonderful, I can’t imagine going anywhere else. My wife and I have FINALLY found a dentist we love. Dr. Chen is the best! He is so friendly and calm, and he keeps notes on how to best get me numb because I don’t numb easily at all. Dentists go crazy with me but not Dr. Chen. He and his staff are so understanding, and they keep a history of what’s worked and they follow that personalized script for me. This takes the huge black cloud away before I go to the dentist because I know with Dr. Chen, I’m not just a number, he treats me with care. His whole staff is so courteous and friendly as well.
As a matter of fact, I just had a crown put in yesterday and he just called me today — personally — to see if I was doing ok. He didn’t even have one of his assistants call. HE called me. You just don’t see other dentists doing this.
And the waiting room is very nice, with coffee, gum, water, gourmet tea, and (gulp) delicious cookies sometimes too.
Dr. Chen uses the latest state of the art technology. It feels like I’ve fast forwarded 50 years since my last dentist. He’s on the cutting edge, and he ensures his staff are all trained the same.
Dr. Chen is in my opinion the best dentist in Sacramento and El Dorado County. I highly recommend Dr. Chen and his staff to anyone who needs a family dentist.

Dr. Chen is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever seen. He is extremely thorough, his office is equipped with the latest technology and his staff is not only friendly and incredibly good at what they do, but there is an air of professionalism that rarely exists in dental and medical offices today. He was terrific with my 6yr old son who recently had a traumatic experience at another office in town. I can highly recommend Dr. Chen without reservation. So grateful to have a fantastic dentist!!!

This by far exceeds any expectations of any business (let alone a dentist office) I walk into. To actually say «I had a pleasant time at the dentist» would be normally unheard of from me. I just received a crown plus three fillings and a cleaning all in one day. Everyone from the front office (Lynn and Shannon) to the dental assistant Debra and my hygienist Kitty helped make me feel like I’ve been going there for years. They were all incredibly nice!
Ok so then I go to Dr. Chen. The last time I got a crown was an absolute horrible experience. I had almost passed out from the pain of the shots she was giving to me. This time with Dr. Chen, I really didn’t feel a thing. I didn’t even know if the needle was in or out of my gum. I was totally shocked on how one person could do so bad and then another so well. Not only did the shot not hurt, but I never felt another thing while he was drilling. He was extremely professional and caring. I felt at total ease sitting in his chair.

I called this office as a new patient, requesting an urgent appointment because of pain. They gave me an appointment the next day! Dr. Chen corrected the mistakes my previous Dentist made, that was causing me pain. The office is clean, the staff is pleasant and accommodating, and Dr. Chen is smart and personable.

I could not be happier with the care I received from Dr. Chen and his employees. This is a Dentistry that really cares about your dental health versus just turning a profit. A few years ago, I trusted the wrong Dentist to perform more than $ 3,500 worth of poorly conducted dentistry. Not only did he over charge me for procedures but also charged me for things he did not do, like a cancer screening. In addition, he sexually harassed me while I was in his chair all the while improperly and painfully placing fillings and crowns throughout mouth. Because of him, I have been terrified to see a dentist even for something as mundane as a cleaning.
I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Chen! After I explained my situation to him and his friendly staff, they took additional precautions to ensure that I was comfortable during my four-​hour long procedure to undo the damage from the other dentist. I could not feel a thing during procedure and, even the next day, I woke up feeling absolutely no pain.
Thank you so much Deborah for the thorough cleanings! Thank you so much Lynn for being such a sweetheart and going out of your way to make sure I had my prescription and understood my procedure! Thank you so much Debra and Danielle for helping me stay warm and relaxed during my time in the chair! And thank you so much Dr. Chen for your professionalism, kindness and meticulous work!

I’ve always had a hard time with dentists in the past, it’s really hard for me to trust them and therefore I avoid the dental office! My friend recommended Dr. Chen when it came time for my cleaning and I am so grateful she did. First, the office staff is SO welcoming and warm they do everything for your comfort in fact they even have a blanket if you get cold! When I met Dr. Chen, he is just the fastest dentist I’ve ever met and very soft spoken and kind. I’ll probably never be going to another dentist in my life, my experience here was the best I’ve ever had and for once I can’t wait to go back to the dentist!

Let me start the review saying that my wife and I spend a disproportionate amount of time and money on dentist (bad genes). So when we move to Folsom I spent a good amount of time researching for Dentist (online and asking a good amount of past and current colleges). In doing so Dr Chen names kept coming up (it was actually the only dentist that I got more than one recommendation for).
Main items 3 things was looking for was:
1) Good Dental Work: As I said early I have several crowns ect, so sloppy works really end up costing me more money and time. I have so say Dr Chen is very meticulous about his work (replacing old filling, making new crowns, ect) and also have special tools to make the appointments shorter and more efficient (Crown printing machine on site) among other. I have been really happy with the work he has done on my wife and I.
2.Honesty: Because all the work I have to get done I end up using my dental coverage early on the year, so having a doctor that is honest about what to get done right away and what can wait for next spring makes a huge difference. Again Dr Chen and the office manager have been very helpful in this regard. Focusing on the most important items and keeping me on a regular hygiene schedule to make sure other thing don’t get out of control in the meantime.
3 Front Office: It makes such a huge difference to have a front office that is flexible, courteous and honest. I have had a wonderful experience with them. I moved to Folsom at the end of the year after founding a new job and they bend over backwards to get me in for multiple appointment so I could use my benefit that year before they expire.
In short, if you need a dentist in Folsom (or sounding area) I highly recommend Dr Chen. Trust me I have looked :-)

I’ve been visiting Dr. Chen’s office since I was in kindergarten. I have literally grown up with their caring staff and excellent lessons in dental health, and now, living away for school, my cleaning is an integral part of each major visit back to Folsom. They always remember the details of my life, my sisters, our schools and careers, and the hygienists clearly explain the purpose of each step of the appointment, showing me on screen the details of X-​rays and periondontal pocket checks… Just as importantly, they present clear and creative ways to work brushing and flossing into my daily routine. My whole family has been with them for more than 15 years, through their move into their beautiful new office. The office staff feel like family friends. Thank you, Dr. Chen, for preparing me for a life of proactive dental health.
And from a very practical standpoint, when I walk in, they consistently inform me about changes to my insurance and any greater treatment now available to me through my coverage.
