Pat’s Automatic Transmission Service

I dropped my 16-​year-​old handicap accessible van to Pat Monday morning. I use my van on a daily basis to transport my son back-​and-​forth to work and recreation. Pat and all of his employees were more than professional and took care of my transmission problem quickly and efficiently. they also were able to work with my warranty company which covered the majority of the cost of this repair. I highly recommend them for all of your transmission needs.

Set my friend Eric there with his Dodge. They could have charged him for rebuilt transmission, but called and said that it wasn’t trans after 2 other places said it was. It was just a missfire on one of the wires.

After spending the past month working up north, I was ready to go home to Florida. Trans Fault light came on just as I was getting ready to start my trip. Took it into Pat’s Transmissions on a local mechanic’s recommendation. Pat diagnosed it, explained everything to me and made the necessary repairs in one day. (He sensed I wanted to get home and really went out of his way to accommodate me) Picked up my truck at 4:00 and was on the road by 6:00 and drove non-​stop for 15 hours. Everything went perfectly.

Pat and crew have treated me and my aging vehicles LIKE FAMILY since the first time I set foot at his former location in Broomall, PA. I was referred to him by a long-​time race driver, auto builder, mechanic and all-​around gear head who swore by his services and lets Pat handle the transmissions he uses or works on (mostly European). Back in those days I drove an hour from Delaware just to get to his former shop to deal with my old Ford and Honda transmissions that were starting to show small transmission problems.
My experience at Pats was refreshing from the moment I opened the door and was kindly welcomed by the receptionist. Pat himself made time to accommodate me, take me for a ride in the car and point out the issues, show me technical data and computer readings, explain my options and weigh them realistically. They answered a myriad of questions and scenarios only a stickler like me usually comes up with. His whole staff was generous, friendly and forthcoming about my concerns without making me feel like I was wasting their time with my questions and curiosity. That alone won me over!
The most amazing part about Pat, the Auto Transmissions expert, is his keen sense for the inner workings and various complex issues that come about in different brands and types of transmissions. The guy can see, hear, smell, and yes… TASTE! (I kid you not!) a transmission and let you know with extreme accuracy what he will find when he opens it (if you so choose to let him open it) or the problem that is troubling it. Due to this amazing skill and the vast number of years of experience I’ve dubbed him «The Transmission Whisperer».
Now anytime I find a friend with transmission problems I tell them to visit the «transmission whisperer in PA», and they do… Pat saved me thousands of dollars when I know others could have easily lead me astray and had me waste my hard earned savings in unnecessary parts, diagnostics and labor, etc. He doesn’t fool around! His advice is gold and his repairs stood the test of time! He gets you in the door and out extremely fast, and usually sent me away with great advice and tips for dealing with future issues or ways of caring for my transmissions.
Now I am almost ready to take another vehicle to Pat (2009 Mercedes Benz C300 Manual 6 Speed) for his solid opinion and I am confident he will once again offer me the excellent, HONEST, no-​nonsense advice that only a good friend or a relative can provide. He is neither, but when you deal with Pat’s, you will know what I mean.

The people at Pat’s are so nice. I needed a new transmission. They did a beautiful job and also replaced other parts that were needed. I would recommend them highly!

I have an older car, and when the automatic transmission started giving me trouble, I was terrified that it was going to cost me lot of money. I took the car to Pat’s, and he ran a diagnostic and informed me that the problem was actually just a sensor, and it wasn’t going to cost much to fix at all. He had it ready for me to pick up the same day.
The car runs great now. They did exactly what was needed to fix the problem, and never tried to up-​sell me anything else.
Knock on wood, this transmission is going to be good for another hundred thousand miles… But if it isn’t, Pats is the shop that I’ll trust for the next repair.
