Food was good, I’ve had better Indian food but this does hit the spot. It’s mild tasting meaning it has flavor but not the punch of flavor most Indian food does have. The nan was great. The portions was ok, I think it upset me that the man who made my plate made the vegetables I chose the biggest portion. As far as customer service I didn’t get the friendly aspect that other did. I felt like I was bothering them I was there and they were rushing me away and had me repeat my order a lot even though I’m sure they heard me because they repeated it after me. But overall I’d give this place a chance if you want the Indian food experience without the restaurant price

Came here today for the first time(never had Indian food before). So I had some questions about the chicken items, I asked the lady that was at the register the difference between them and she said she didn’t know she just kept repeating the names of the chicken dishes and I asked her which one she likes and she says she doesn’t eat the food then I asked which was the most popular and she say all of them… wow this lady is no help at all and had poor customer service skills the owners need to think twice about having her at the register if she knows nothing about the food. Now I will never go back and now tell everyone I know to not eat here.

I was on my way to another restaurant when I saw the Spice Jar… I have been craving curry for a couple of weeks so I thought I’d give it a try. I went in and got a two item order of the chicken curry and the chicken tikka masala. I also got two pieces of naan with it. I took my order to go because I had something to do at home, although they do have sitting there at the restaurant /store. When I got home and opened up my food, it smelled great and tasted even better! The chicken tikka is my favorite and that place has done a great job! It’s spicy and flavorful! The naan was cooked perfectly! My new favorite Indian restaurant! People of Fontana you are so lucky!!!

Very good okra, lamb curry and garlic naan. Everything is fresh and the flavor is awesome. Priced very reasonably. Would come back!

One of my favorite places in town. I love eating their Chicken Marsala or Eggplant. Ask them to make it spicy. You will love it!

So Good. I would leave it at that, but I think the powers that be at Unilocal would like a tad more information. A small group of friends and I visited this awesome spot after running practice all day out at Southridge Park. Needless to say my buddy and I were famished, and our wives were on the war path for some good food. So, we turned to Unilocal, threw caution to the wind, and headed down to see what sort of culinary trouble we could get ourselves into. We pulled up, and found parking right out in front of the place, which was great due to the fact that we had our bikes in tow. When we walked in, we realized that it’s not only an eatery, but a market as well. HIstorically, when a situation like this occurs, the food is out of this world, and Spice Jar absolutely kept this trend going. I ordered the 2 item entrée with the chicken tikka masala, and the lamb curry. They were out of the lamb, and the guy behind the counter recommended that I go with the goat curry instead. Sure, why not! Every entrée comes with naan, and I opted for the garlic, which was the best choice I made all day. Some places give you a tiny little order of naan, but not these guys, they provided so much, that we asked for a to go box so we could enjoy it later that night. The chicken tikka was amazing. Seriously, do yourself a favor and order it. The goat was pretty good too, but I found it to be incredibly boney. Now this was my first time ‘enjoying’ goat, so I don’t know if that’s how it always is, or if that’s how these guys prepare it. I suspect that based on the quality of all the other food we ate, that it’s just how goat is. Despite that, the meat was incredibly tender, and the curry tasted delicious. To drink, I almost had a Mexican Coke, but then spotted a soda in a bottle that said ‘thumbs up’. I asked the guy behind the counter what it was, and he told me it was basically Indian Coke, but way better. Once again, he was right. The curry, combined with the naan, on top of the thumbs up soda made this place an absolute must return in my mind. I race bikes out there every two weeks, and they will be seeing me at least that often. Highly Recommend!

I Absolutely Love And Adore This Place, I’ve been coming here for a while now and have never once experienced or have been disappointed in the lack of service or food quality. They always provide a outstanding selection of flavorful entrée’s and their staff is always welcoming, warm and kind, I absolutely adore them and will forever show my gratitude as a loyal customer because of such hospitality.

Went here for the first time today and I was pleasantly surprised. Very good food and service with a smile. I had the 2 item lunch combo, Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry, both good, and garlic naan. The lamb curry and garlic naan was definitely the highlight for me! I’ll be back very soon!

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I’ve tried their combo #2 multiple times and i decided«hey let me try their a la carte menu, it’s gotta be fresh right?» No, that is not the case unfortunately… they grab the food they already have sitting outside and add spice if you want it «spicier» –_– It doesn’t end there… I requested them to make me a fresh batch and they told me their food was«fresh». I’m sorry but it did not look appetizing. I insisted they make me a fresh batch but they refused. so you know what happened? I took my business elsewhere. For that reason I give it a 2 star for the bad experience. Food is not bad! Let me just make that clear, food is good.

You know what, despite the health rating this food is still delicious! At first I was a little cautious about the health rating, but the food still tastes great and I’ve never been sick or anything. I still love it!

Tikka masala, paneer. On point. Mildly spicy, quite flavorful. I ordered 28oz. Sides for $ 11 and change. I’ve probably only been to 10 Indian restaurants but this is definitely my favorite flavor for masala. The paneer is diced up smaller than I’m used to, but it’s easier to get veggies with the cheese so no complaints!

I saw some complaints about the portion size of the boxes. I had so much food I couldn’t even eat ½, and that was after sitting for a few min so I could eat more because it was so good. The portions are enough calm down Merica’ The staff was very nice, greeted me when I walked in. The place was clean. Why 4 not 5 stars? Because it didn’t top my favorite Indian restaurant, but it was still very good.

I hadn’t had good Indian food in the Inland Empire until I came here. On my first visit they ran out of samosas. While this seemed like a testament to the quality of food and good for the people who had over 200 samosas throughout the day(according to the owner), it wasn’t good for me. I got creative & tried the papdi chat. Since I’m still in vegan-land(until I workout & stop being a junkie for junk food), my papdi chat didn’t have any yogurt. It had a traditional mix of good Indian flavor… but get yours with the yogurt.(It’s like Indian nachos that need the dollop of sour cream, or yogurt in this case.) They are kind of stingy with the rice & entrée portions, but they make up for it with all the garlic naan. The eggplant & veggie options are good, but I can live off their lentils, garlic naan & samosas.

I decided to try this place after searching«hot and new» and seeing all the good reviews. We ordered two #2 combos, samosas, and pani puri all for $ 20! Chicken tikka masala: I like that this isn’t too watery or creamy, it’s right in between. Taste wise, it’s on the sweeter side and it has a small spicy kick to it. When paired with garlic naan, it’s amazing! Lamb curry: this is good and the lamb isn’t gamey. I don’t love it because I am biased toward a different type of Indian lamb dish but I don’t see it on Indian restaurant menus that often. Curry veggies: my friend said this didn’t taste anything special. It taste like veggies with curry flavoring. Garlic naan: this is the bomb! Freshly made on the spot. I love that there are tiny garlic chunks on it! Vegetable samosas: This is spicy! I never had samosas that was this spicy but it’s addicting. I keep going back for another bite after downing myself with ice water Pani puri: I ordered this out of curiosity after I overheard a nice lady ordering it and asked her what it was. It’s hard to decide if I like it or not. You’re supposed to take this puff thingy and put the potato garbanzo stuff inside after you make a hole in puff thingy. Then put this tangy water in it and eat it all together. I never tasted anything like it but it was fascinating. I ended up drinking the rest of the tangy water cause I was told by the sweet guy who worked there that it’s good for your digestive system. Overall, food was good especially if you want take out. The service here is incredible. They’re super nice, friendly, and would answer any questions you have. The reason I give it a 3 stars is because the place is a little out of the way for me. I’m only in the Rancho Cucamonga area a few times a month to visit my family and there are good Indian places to go to to satisfy my cravings in RC. If you’re from the South Fontana area or close by, definitely check this place out! It’s good, fast, and convenient!

So delicious! Their chicken tikka is so creamy and delicious. The daal is to die for. The naan… oh the naan. I can’t help myself but to order some rasmalai and an order of pani puri everytime I come in. Love love love this place. Glad they decided to set up in Fontana and add some culture! Thank you Paul! Also I forgot to add that they have a huge market inside with tons of Indian products that even I can appreciate and I’m not Indian. Always a cool Bollywood movie playing.
