Wow did you missed the mark last night! 40 people in lines and the ‘helper person’(manager of some sort) is focused on closing self checkout because it’s 930. I’m sure it has to do w rules, staffing etc. it’s so Contrary to ‘Good service 101′ … Which would have been to get another check stand open… how about YOU step up Mister ‘by the book’ Helper person? Instead of just holding a sign and pushing people to over full checkouts. Authorize that overtime! Open another checkout, get creative. Take care of your customer needs.

I have been shopping at this store for years. I have never had a bad experience in any of the departments. The meat and seafood department has excellent meat deals and the seafood I buy has always been fresh. I can always count on knowable staff who take the time to explain sustainable seafood options and cooking tips. I have never bought a bad meat or seafood product here. The produce department is clean and well laid out with fresh produce both organic and non organic. The bakery rocks with a staff who excel at special orders. Especially Roland who will go out of his way to make his customers happy. This is a smaller store than others but the customer service more than makes up for it. How many stores ask you if you need help out rather than waiting for you to? Both Andrew and Bobby are two of the nicest help out clerks you will ever meet. I was in two weeks ago and could not find a sale item. A clerk who was off the clock and on her way home, stopped to help me and refused to leave until the item was located. Her name is Willa and she is the kind of employee that creates customer loyalty.
My only complaint is we do not get the Safeway ad in Banks. I like to organize my meals and its hard to plan without it.

So I went in here this morning(9÷19÷2015) to get a couple of items for BFast… and went to go look at the meat and I saw something, that at first I couldn’t believe, but when I realized what it was, I was thoroughly disgusted and walked out and went to… Walmart. which I hate. The picture speaks a thousand words… a piece of meat in their meat section with mold growing all over it. Nasty! C’mon and maintain your food, for what you are charging, there is no excuse for moldy meat!

This pharmacy is terrible and has been for years. I switched so fast to Fred Meyer even though it means driving farther. They take forever to fill scripts. even simple refills of basic meds. called in a refill 24 hours in advance and went to pick it up and was told it wouldn’t be ready for at least 30 minutes since they were still«working on it.» The women behind the counter are always rude and completely unhelpful. God I hate this place. gotta get my bf to switch now!

I think they would benefit having a bank branch inside this location. I may need a loan next time to afford the prices!!! Wow. After shopping at Winco for the last several years i ventured into this remote Safeway and had sticker shock. My 2.76 Orange Juice was 3.30. My yogurt doubled in price. Then I went to get some deli meat. The turkey I usually get for 5.99 a pound was a whopping 7.99 a pound. Well back to Winco I go. I just can’t justify the exact same items and brands for 25% more… Sorry Safeway, you need to comparison shop…

Pharmacy went above and beyond to fill a urgent prescription over the weekend. Both staff members were helpful and caring.

ROTTEN Produce! I shop here because it is close to my home, even though they are overpriced, and have a limited amount of Gluten Free foods. They use to have a great produce section, but for the past several months it has turned into something of a wasteland. Yesterday, I bought a bag of Avocados. I was in a hurry, and found one bag near the top that looked good. BOY, WAS I SHAMMED! Now mind you, this is not my first Rodeo with their crappy produce. I get home, start making a salad(all smiles waiting to eat my beautiful Avocado) to find out every single Avocado is Rotten. One was so rotten, there was fuzzy mold on the INSIDE. I am shopping somewhere else

I want so much to support this place — it’s the nearest grocery store to me, and I know that many of the people working there are my neighbors. I don’t even mind that most of the things they have are more expensive than Fred Meyer’s in Cornelius. But the store needs so much improvement. Biggest complaint: there is not enough staff. Expect a long wait at the check out lines(usually just one open), at the bread counter, and at any other counter where someone has to help you. And good luck finding someone to help you if you need such while shopping. Second biggest complaint: it’s dark and dingy. The area where the carts are — or are supposed to be(they are usually all gone) — usually has trash on the ground, and the lights around the edges of the store are dark — low or no lights — making it look like the store is about to close. The only good things about it: they do have a coffee bar, and the music is always fun. But neither of those things make me want to shop there. Hire more staff, make the staff much more visible, brighten and clean the place up, and this would be a terrific store I would frequent once a week. As it is now, I go maybe once a month.

Employees are helpful and reserved. I don’t feel like I have to run and hide when I run into them down the aisles as well. A big plus for me is that the butchers here are really sweet and helpful! One time they even took time out of their lunch break to help me slice a roast for skewers I was making that night.

This store is the worst. Always understaffed. The U-Scan normally has at least one register down. Even during the busiest time of the day, when the lines are so long they are going down the aisles there are not enough checkers to open all the check-stands. Plus the bottle area is has to few machines takes forever to return your cans and bottles. And the employees are not really what I would call over friendly. Shop at your own peril.

I live not even a mile away from this place and I just drive by it now to go to Freddy’s. Sure, the inside is nice and the prices are decent but… I just GETSOTIRED of the creepy people in what I call the«FG Triangle»…this is the section that starts right after Mcdonalds, where 8 splits into two one way streets, ending the triangle right past Les Schwab. No lie, I see some crazy dude on a bicycle every time I drive through town. They’re the kind of guy that makes you wonder why a middle aged grey bearded creepster like himself is having to ride a bike every to begin with. It seems to be the recycling center that brings them to safeway. I actually stopped even trying to recycle as you have to wait in line behind these people, not to mention they use the store’s shopping carts to store and sometimes transport cans/bottles from a few miles down the street. I think about this every time I put my groceries in them while shopping or even worse… setting my daughter in one. It’s just not worth it until FG some how gets rid of these people. I’ll drive another mile or two and not have to deal with the crazies… plus freddy’s has a gas station. …Almost forget the lines are horrible in this place. Forget about getting out in time if your in a hurry during peak times. Self check out is ALWAYS faster.

I had the WORST experience at this store last night. My boyfriend and I were there to buy coffee creamer and bagels for morning, as well as some ice cream to eat while watching a late-night movie. We were ready to check out by 9pm and got in the line that said«Express Lane.» We waited for about 15 minutes while one of the people ahead of us cashed a check and sent the cashier out gallivanting for something else she wanted. Mind you, this lady had a full cart of groceries and wanted to pay for some with a check, some with a credit card, and some with her Oregon Trail Card. Now, let me point out that the«Express Lane» sign says right on it «Cash or Credit Only. Limit 15 Items.» Finally, this lady left and I realized the woman ahead of me had just unloaded her whole cart with probably 65 items onto the belt. This is when I got annoyed because I had 4 items. I said to the clerk, «Excuse me. Which lane is supposed to be the express lane?» She looked at me and said«This one» and laughed. Then the lady with 5 times the amount of groceries allowed said, «There are only 2 lanes open.» To which I responded«That does not negate the express lane notation.» I could see the clerk had continued to laugh at me and started checking out the woman in front of me… The problem for me was that I was in a hurry and there only were 2 checkers with lines stretching into the aisles. I feel like they should have either called up more checkers, or the clerks should have made sure people followed the signs. I quickly realized nothing was going to change in the the situation and finally gave up and set my stuff down in the middle of everything and walked out. As I left I could hear the clerk still laughing and talking about me to the other lady. The fact is, Safeway’s niche is that they are supposed to have good customer service for which you pay a little more, but when that goes completely out the window, they are nothing but an overpriced grocery chain. Safeway may be the closest store, but from now on, I’ll be driving the extra

I am reviewing the Deli inside the store. The chinese food in this particular deli in this particular Safeway is perhaps the best I have had anywhere. The General Tsaos Chicken is one of my favorites. They have a special for $ 4.99 that gets you an entrée and chow mein. I am always satisfied with the portion I receive. It is best, though to go in the middle of the lunch rush. That way, you are less likely to end up with the stuff that has been sitting under the lamps for an hour. When this happens, the meat can get a bit tough. For this reason, the Forest Grove Safeway Deli(Chinese section) rates 4 stars on my list. Update: Due to a consistent reduction in the quality of the food over the past several months, I must conclude that the previous cook has left, or does not work the noontime shift. As such, I am going to have to rerate the Chinese inside the store. It pains me to do this, but it only rates 2 stars now. Flavor has suffered, freshness is rare, and the chow mein is dry. Update: The quality has recovered somewhat, but now the price has gone up. The special is now $ 5.29 but I will rate it three stars because it is still the best Asian food in the Forest Grove area.
