She quoted it us on price when the things were on sale(if you get 5 its $ 10 each, we bought a lot of stuff, turns out the first 5 were $ 10, the rest were regular price). Not a fan of deceptive sales people.

I went in to the Benetton store in Forest Hills, NY on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at around 1:45pm. I was with my 70-year-old mother, who was carrying a cup of ice because it was around 90 degrees outside. A female worker at the store, who is tall and heavy with light-colored hair, told us in a very nasty way that we can’t come into the store with drinks. I told her that my elderly mother was hot and it was just a cup of ice. The employee was very rude and I told her that we’re leaving now and that she just lost two customers. She replied, «Good!» I then told her that she was an idiot, and she replied«You’re an idiot.» What the hell kind of customer service is this? I understand Benetton doesn’t want people coming into their stores with drinks like coffee and things that stain but an elderly lady holding ice on a sweltering hot day is not the same thing. Then to get this rudeness from this employee is preposterous. I have shopped at the Benetton stores for decades and now I will never shop there again. That employee should be fired.

I usually steer clear of this store because it looks pretty drab and empty inside. Nothing very enticing at the windows. However I was looking for a gift for a friends baby so I decided«why not, I’ll check it out » . I walked in and the store is very small. You can see everyone in it in one glance. I walked over to the kid section and right away began being followed. I was asked if I needed help and I let them know that I was ok thank you . But the girl just stood there watching me. I felt so uncomfortable that although I didn’t need help to look through 5 items on a shelf(b/c they have a very limited selection and sizes) I asked her to help me. And well, she wasn’t much help b/c I didn’t find anything I was interested in at all. By this time, I just wanted to leave. But b/c of the way she made me feel like a damn theif I bought something. The outfit was cute, nothing spectacular. When I got home I decided I could buy something better so I decide I’d return it. Two days later I went to return it and I walk in and I tell them I need to exchange something. So the girl says«well let me see the item first » right away I felt so discriminated against. So I told her«sure, here’s your receipt and I bought this 2 days ago«and she looked at me and said«oh yea« I exchanged the item bc they don’t give money back, you can only exchange with item in same season collection . So as She placed the new item on the bag she said«this is a final sale. No more exchanges » . I was just so disgusted by even being there and treated like that. I’ll never step foot into that store again. Such rude, discriminating customer svc.

I can’t honestly say I’ve owned anything from Benetton. That said, I love their children’s selection. They fit well, washes well, and the tags are reasonably priced. As for this specific store, they are very helpful and accommodating so I tend to return and it doesn’t hurt that it’s conveniently located.

Well, I couldnt disagree with Tina more. In my years of shopping in this particular Benetton location I always found the quality to be wonderful. I have pants, cardigans, and coats from 10+ years ago that are still in excellent condition. I’ll admit some prices are a bit high but they always have unbeatable sales that more then make up for the original prices. If your looking for cheap disposable clothing then I suggest you shop at the Strawberry across the street. If you want quality then stick to Benetton.

Benetton dba Mid-Island Retail or United Colors of Benetton sits on the corner of Austin Street and 71st Road in Forest Hills as a clothing store. The clothing appears to be t-shirt plastered with logos or slogans as would a street vendor peddle«I love NY» t-shirts or company apparel with a logo. This clothing store may bear the United Colors of Benetton brand name as an authorized retailer but it is no true United Colors of Benetton retail store. Overpriced and excessively overrated.
