Express Soft Taco

Very fast service, inexpensive and tasty. I ordered the grilled steak fajitas with guacamole and the chili ground beef with cheese. Yum.

I usually like to find the good points when I eat at a restaurant, but I’m sorry to say this time I couldn’t!
The food was unusually greasy.
When I mentioned it the employee just shrugged,
I won’t be returning.

Had this last night & it was terrible never had a taco soooooo bad. killed my mood if u order this I suggest u do it at your own risk!

Garbage ! bunch of chinese people running a shady business and calling their food as mexican food. un_​effing_​believable. Absolute worthless piece of crap food. Its a s_​_​thole … stay away.

second time I ordered from this place that they jipped me on my extra salsa that i paid for and my platter had like no meat.

I am shocked at all the negative reviews of this place. I’ve been coming here for over ten years since living in the neighborhood and never had a negative experience with the service or food. My favorite dish is the pork chops with rice and bean which comes with a small salad and two soft tacos. I try not to eat this too often because of my borderline high pressure but omg those pork chops are sooo good. I remember bringing a friend here and she still talks about those pork chops and will ask me from time to time to order her a plate to bring to work for her. The prices are very reasonable and you get a free can of soda with the combination dishes. I’ve tried a few other dishes that were good but when you see me check in to this spot, 9 times out 10 I am getting those pork chops. LOL

Their food is very fresh and well made. The delivery is so very fast. It is at your apartment before you know it.
I love their nachos and hard shell tacos.
It is something we order every week.
The owners are really nice people and always aim to please.

I used to come here more often when I lived closer. I miss them. Good and quick Mexican Themed Food. Tacos soft and hard, quesedillas, burritos and mexican rice, which is basically a topping, chicken, beef, etc, over rice. Good portions too. They are a take out a place so the seating is limited to a few tables. They are rigth by the 67^th Ave subway station. They deliver too if you are in the area.

I never been in here before but me and my girlfriend always order from here when in a hurry to eat something cheap and since it’s only a couple blocks away with us both being on Queens Blvd the delivery was always extremely fast. We always order burritos or she gets nachos, kinda bothered me how low quality the food is but you get what you paid for and it was passable enough to eat.
But after reading reviews on here I don’t think we’ll be ordering from here anymore and definitely will never go there.

I sent one of my usual and quite anonymous «Diarrhea Letters» to this place and obviously the management paid attention to it because I’ve since ordered in from here twice and everything’s been absolutely fine, thank goodness.
Sometimes people just need a little bit of a «heads up» to get them back on track.

This place is really bad. I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t been shut down by the NYC board of health.
I came in here around 9pm on a weeknight and ordered three steak soft tacos.
The chinese guy who was making them blew his nose into a napkin, then picked some food out of his teeth and put it into the same napkin.
He then preceded to take this same napkin and wipe down the flat top grill. Then he laid the steak and the tortilla shell on top of this same grill that he had just wiped down with his foodstuff and mucous laden snot rag.
I casually turned around and walked out. The woman who was working the cash register started yelling saying hey where you going?
Needless to say I would never go in this place again. They are disgusting people that run it.

Quality mix of food and great for delivery

you know the deal here. the menus at these Chexican places are pretty much the same: cheap, quick, and FUC’in tasty!
I’m a fan of the platter specials; for about 5 – 6 bucks, you get a container filled with lettuce, tomato, rice, beans, and meat, plus a soda. lately my fix is the chili/​steak mix. the nachos are great here too, and you get A LOT for your money.

Get the Nachos, They’re amazing drunk food. Best part about this place is they Deliver.

I have been here a few times. The grilled chicken they put in their tacos tastes really good. But unfortunately, I have had bad experiences with this restaurant.
Me: Hi, may I have two chicken soft tacos?
Woman behind counter: Sure.
*After tacos are made*
Me: You guys forgot to add the cheese to both of my tacos.
Woman behind counter: Cheese will cost you an extra $ 0.50!
WHAT’S A TACO WITHOUT CHEESE? I think she was trying to rip me off… congrats. you just lost a customer.

I normally go to Fresh Soft Tacos for my tex-​mex cravings, but today they were closed as they are every Sunday. So I decided to give Express Soft Taco a try instead. But maybe Express should slow it down because they got it all wrong…
Express Soft Taco is one of the many Chinese owned tex-​mex takeout places. I ordered my usual for the sake of comparison; chicken and tex-​mex chili special combination plate with the following changes:
1) no chicken: i rather have extra chili because chicken has been tasting weird to me as of late
2) no lettuce: shredded lettuce doesn’t do much for me
3) no soda: i ask for extra sauces as i don’t drink soda much
After eating my meal, it was very similar to Fresh Soft Tacos in many ways:
1) rice
2) chili
3) beans
4) tomatoes
5) sauces and sour cream
However, there were differences in the execution:
1) rice: very tough. Suspect freshness, people~!!!
2) chili: although the spice level was there, the texture was off. It was too fine and there were like no beans.
3) tortillas: very crispy and larger diameter than Fresh Soft Tacos’ smaller but fluffier tortilla. I prefer the latter as it was a chore to tear into Express Soft Tacos’ tortillas.
Summary: I really like these types of tex-​mex establishments as i find the food to be of higher quality than the crap at Taco Bell. However, Express Soft Tacos falls short and hovers around the Taco Bell level. At a cost of $ 6.50 (after tax), it’s almost a dollar more than my go-​to place, Fresh Soft Tacos. I wouldn’t bother with this place again even if it was a Sunday and Fresh Soft Tacos was closed…

Love the over priced quesadillas. Bean tacos are ok. The vegetable burrito is a jumble of ingredients, and over priced. The chili taco is 1.09, which is a good price, and you see teenagers wolfing down a bunch of them.
Sometimes the workers children are there. They are really cute.

Crappy mexican. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here. Food is dry, salsa is no good, guacamole is that crappy tubed kind, tortillas are stale. Just nothing about this place is good. Décor is like a crappy chinese take-​out place. Price is average. I don’t know why I’m continuing to tell you about this place, it sucks and you’re not going to come here, right? Right.
The only reason it gets two stars and not one is because it won’t make you sick if you have to eat it for some reason.

Pretty reasonable, pretty good Mexican food. I called and 15 minutes later (!!), I had my food. The combos are under six bucks, which gets you two fresh tortillas, your choice of meat (I went w/​grilled chicken good but nothing great), rice, choice of beans, and a soda, not too shabby for the money. Also had a quesadilla, again good.
