Super mediocre hardware store — you can usually find what you’re looking for, but don’t expect the manager to help you really. The store is pretty overpriced for random components and tools, but it one of very few hardware stores in the area so they can probably get away with it. Will come here for the convenience and necessity.

Answered the phone, but wasn’t too friendly. Seemed to be frustrated. Could be a language barrier, but not the best experience. Not thorough, or looking to go the extra mile for potential business.

Forest Hills Hardware Store is the only local store that sells hardware goods in the Forest Hills vicinity other than Duane Reade, Rite Aid, or the generic chain stores. I’ve visited on multiple occasions, to buy cooking pans, duck tape, plunger, house key copies, and whatever I need in an instant. Once my toilet clogged(happens when you ate heartily the night before) and thankfully Forest Hills Hardware Store was open at night. This store provides all the tools and gadgets you need to replace, repair, and enhance all fixtures in the home for a reasonable price. The only complaint I have is some of the items look like they are from the last decade. Before you buy I suggest you inspect the quality of the item. Other than that, two thumbs up to this hardware store for servicing the area!

Really helpful when I was moving in! Had everything I needed and at fair prices. We also got a few plants from the place, and several people asked me about the ladder I bought here because they thought it was a great size(stores easily AND has a little shelf).

We were on the hunt for Zip Strip yesterday and found it here — it was reasonably priced too! Mister always checks here first before heading out to Home Depot. This hardware store is chockablock with everything you might need for your apartment. It’s tough to walk out empty handed. The staff is attentive and helpful– GO!

The owner/employee is always on their cell phone and not very knowledgeable with their merchandise. And they are reluctant to give a receipt.

Terrible service. I asked for a specific kind of screwdriver, and I even showed a picture. I was given the wrong size, which I didn’t know until I unwrapped the plastic. Later that day, I tried to exchange it, and got into an argument with the owner. He was adamant that I was costing him money, and rather hesitant to give a refund or even an exchange. I walked out feeling ripped off. I would usually assume that a small business knows more about their products, and cares more about their customers… Not so in this case.

Don’t have keys made here, Home Depot has a machine that will work. Nice guys, but can’t make keys

I went in to get long screws for my bed and had examples of what I was looking for. Normally, hardware stores will sell the screws individually. The guy working just pointed at a rack and said that’s all we have, while he was talking on his cell phone. Absolutely horrible customer service on his part. He didn’t try to look for anything else, he just said that’s all they had. Take your business elsewhere if you ask me.

After living in this neighborhood for two years, I have come to realize that the guy is not a jerk, he’s just a little weird and misunderstood. The rest of my review stands
