They only get a two star for their walnut cream cheese. The bagel is okay. Their customer service is disgustingly horrible. Not only do they never finish listening to your order but they get annoyed when you ask them for other things! Umm why bother asking me what I want when you don’t want to listen –_– In addition, apparently you have to be a guy for them to ask you if you want your bagels toasted or not.

This is a go to place for iced coffee and bagels for most of the forest. Its always crowded because the food is fresh and well priced. The everything bagel toasted is my favorite.

I love my breakfast at Gotta Getta Bagel when I’m in the area I wouldn’t go anywhere else… Great staff and a pleasant environment. Amazing everything bagels toasted with any of their specialty cream cheese…

First and foremost, the bagels are good. Not fantastic, not amazing, but they are good. The problem is that you walk in and you’re hit in the face with a really unpleasant stench. It’s unlike anything I’ve smelled anywhere else. Like…30-year old $ 5 bills soaked in old coffee. Something like that. Besides the odor, decent bagels — I also like their farmers cheese. This is where the three stars come from. It’s very good farmers cheese. The workers have zero personality. They act like they’re in a huge rush to get to every customer, and they don’t have so many customers that they should be acting that way. Also…it’s 2016. This place does not take credit cards. This is absolutely ridiculous for a business to only accept cash in this day and age. I cannot tell you how many times I have waited on a line, gotten to the front to order, and have forgotten this. It’s probably been like a dozen times. Ha, dozen, bagels, hah, get it? I’m too much.

Very nice bagel house the food here is very good and maintains a very spacious area for customers to sit down and enjoy their food. Very convenient location and very nice neighborhood.

I’m giving it 5 stars because everything is fresh, Bagels, Tuna, Cream Cheese and the selection in general. The Veggie Tuna is awesome. There is such a high turner over of food; taking out never worries me. The Cons: It’s always crowded, and their format of the line is time consuming. People don’t leave tips, which makes me think the front counter staff takes their sweet time. I always leave a little something. The other con — People hog the tables at Starbucks? Wait to see the the table Hogs here. So my 5 stars goes to selection, consistent freshness, and for take out. PS: No credit cards.

I’ve always passed by this unassuming bagel shop in favor of a DD. But what if this place goes the way of nearby B&N? I finally tried it — and immediately came back again the next day. There’s something about its old school charm and prices, along with the old-timers lounging around that’s appealing. And of course, there is a nice selection of bagels to choose from that are baked fresh daily. When I walked in early afternoon most types were sold out already — a good sign. My favorite is an everything bagel with cream cheese and jelly… what a great combo! Perfect blend of sweet, tart, and creamy. Overall, a great local bagel shop with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices.

Really like the variety they have here. Everything is freshly made, good tasting. I tried the lox, egg salad, white fish spread. All very good. Bagels were soft. Cozy place with eat in or take out options. Usually long lines, but they moved fairly quickly. My only complaint was the front counter. Not very comfortable and gets crowded once peoplw come forward to pay or place their order. Also, a bit pricey, but still. I feel like its best bagels in forest hills, rego park area. Used to be bagelette on 63rd! Back in the day was amazing. Gone downhill since new owner, but this is closest to can get to it, I feel. Service, was friendly enough. They smilied and made sure to get the order right.

the bagels here are good — not my favorite in the area, but very good — but the true hidden gem is their bialy. they’re really good! as my good friend Tom pointed out, it gets really hectic on weekend mornings. the small counter and seemingly random determination of «who’s ordering next?» serves to frustrate me more often than not. my biggest gripe is that too many folks like to camp out all morning. surprisingly, the yuppie stroller brigades are NOT the offenders here — instead, it’s elderly locals who hog and annex tables like tinpot dictators. no enforcement of table time limits here turns this place into a freakin’ senior center. meanwhile, I just wanna grab a bagel and coffee! SERENITYNOW!

Not impressed. Service wasn’t inviting, pickle didn’t taste great, I guess the bagel was ok and my cookie was too sweet… and I love sweet. It was a bit expensive and I was far from satisfied. I doubt I’ll return.

What can I say. They’re open early. Their prices are decent. They serve a solid bagel. I’ll be back here again.

Checked this place out while I was in Queens. I ordered a cinnamon bagel with butter and my cousin had an everything bagel with cream cheese. Bagels were fresh and tasted great. The restaurant was clean and pretty busy. They also had an indoor seating space with a 30 minute limit. Overall, I am now a fan of their bagels and when I am back in NY, I want to try the other kinds of bagels they have.

I pick up breakfast there every so often because its down the block from my job I am not a bagel head so… but one thing I d like is everything is made fresh The staff is not friendly at all, they don’t say gm, or thank you or have a good day The prices are good in the morning for $ 3.75 you can get eggs and cheese with a drink or pancakes or hot meal with half a bagel You cant beat that in that area.

The only bagel I ever get here(or anywhere else for that matter) is an everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. And Gotta Getta Bagel doesn’t disappoint! Cash only.

If you want a large variety of bagels to choose from but with a slight hard texture then this is your pLace to be. They have bagels, muffins, salads, soups and sweet breads. However their freshly squeezed juices are quite a healthy way to kick start a day.

This place makes a solid bagel with cream cheese. Well, tofu cream cheese. Tofu chive cream cheese. Walking in, you see an array of bagels behind the clear plexiglass, as well as different fillings in the glass display under that. I got a flat bagel(toasted, of course) and a wheat bagel(also toasted), both with tofu chive cream cheese. The bagel was slightly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfection! I always hate it when places overtoast the bagel and the outside is like biting into a clamshell. And then you have to do damage control for the roof of your mouth, but not this place! Also, the flat bagel is perfect for those that don’t like a lot of bread or want to cut down on processed carbs a little. The cream cheese amount was just right. Unlike many other New Yorkers, I do not enjoy my bagel with a cream cheese layer that’s 3 inches thick. The layer was enough that I felt the texture and tasted the tofu chive, yet didn’t plop out onto my lap, the table, or the floor. Score! It ran me about $ 4/bagel with cream cheese, give or take. Damn, I don’t remember bagels being this expensive. Customer service was okay. Nothing special, but the lady who took me was nice. I read reviews how they don’t give the best customer service when it’s busy, so thankfully it wasn’t too busy when I went in. I’m a fan and they will be seeing me the next time a craving for bagel with tofu cream cheese hits!

Location: Forest hills right off 71st and Continental, across the street from Starbucks. Service: Busy place and the service is rushed. The workers are attentive but are robotic like. They do not greet you or say«Hi» but just ask for your order and take your money and GOODBYE. I understand its busy but great your customers. Food: If you do not mind the service, the bagels are really good and maybe the best I’ve had in Queens. I always get the pumpernickel bagel with vegetable cream cheese. The raisin bagel, rye bagel and everything bagel is also really good.

Hmm… torn on this one… Yes! Great Bagels, Great Cream Cheese — Jalapeño! So flavorful! Not Spicy — Chives, very similar to Scallion — Nova Scallion, Mmm! You don’t even miss the pieces of Lox! No No! — Cash Only? On Austin St? Shady — No Milk to purchase? Hey! Some of us drink Milk that’s not heavily artificially flavored!(Only Nesquick & Hersheys) — Pricey for what little cream cheese you get. Very disappointing. Some areas had empty spots — I want Cream Cheese!

Gotta Getta Bagel is definitely a Forest Hills staple. It’s been serving up bagels and schmear on 71st St as long as I lived in Queens(a very long time)! Meh-be I’ve been spoiled by the other bagel places in NYC(like Brooklyn Bagel in Astoria or Absolute Bagels in Morningside Hts). Meh-be, GGB is just meh! Yes, there are numerous spreads. Yes, they make their bagels on premises. Yes, they’re cash only. You would think that a place with these«ingredients’ would be poppin’! No. I always end up disappointed here. Even though the bagels are made on premises you will probably not get one that is warm/freshly made. Good bagels should have a crispness outside and a soft, moist inside. What you’ll get here is just a step above a defrosted pack of frozen bagels. Seriously, the bagels have been out for so long sometimes that there is a huge amount of condensation on them. And holy salt lick, Batman! The spreads are super salty! I couldn’t even finish the last bagel I got. Soo, yeah, meh. Folks, there are better alternatives out there!
